JTS Dead Center Pellet, pretty impressive stuff

Wuzz Gowin Owin Peeple?

Well, I have been shooting some JTS .22 Caliber Dead Center lead domed pellets in 18.10gr and believe me when I tell you this guys and gals, these suckers are NICE! Packed with foam top and bottom, bright clean lead with little to no deformity, screw off lid... These things are pretty cool. If you want to see them for yourselves, check out this video Airgun Angie put out from Shot Show 2023 that she is sharing on her Facebook and Instagram pages.

So far I have shot them through five different PCP's. Loaded one mag with my goto ammo which is JSB Diabolo Exact Jumbo Heavy .22 Cal, 18.13 gr, and loaded a second mag with the Dead Centers in 18.10gr. The results are equal or better grouping on the same target at the same distance.

The PCPs I shot them through so far are:
  • AVA Bullpup and Conventional
  • Gauntlet 1
  • Huben K1
  • Brocock Commander
  • FX Dream-Tac Compact

The distances were 50 and 75 yards and if I did not load the magazines myself I would swear I was shooting nothing other than JSB. This is going to allow a lot more shooters to afford to shoot clean well made accurate ammo.

Great so far, I'm going to do a video of these in action in a series of short videos, like 2mins each or something that showcases these things in action. I love it when something elevates our sport and saves a few bucks at the same time! :geek:

Anyone need a tank??

I am looking at maybe getting another tank for my truck for when I go camping and what not. Was looking around at possibly getting another tank or two, and then I came across a 9L tank. Does anyone have anything like this that they use? Would be interesting to hear what your thoughts and opinions are on the tank.

Skout

So I have seen some on the Skout Airgun - Epoch. What are the thoughts on this? It looks amazing. Little confused about the electronics and controlling the "dwell" would love some more information on the importance of it; is that the same as using a Plenum? Also, does it come with 3 different size barrels???? I saw on FB someone posted about that. Awesome piece of machinery, need it in my Airgun Arsenal!

Avenger .25 ... 110 FPE !?

So I'm messing with my gun, measuring differing speeds with slugs with my new found power and I decided to sling a few pellets downrange. The Seneca 43.2 grain pellets always created my best energy numbers since the was new out the box... And maybe for good reason. So I shot some and realized I have reached 110 foot pounds of energy which is insane from this gun. This brought some doubt into my mind so I decided to weight these pellets and none were much more than 40 grains it seemed so they are way overstating their product! Turns out I did however reach 102 FPE which is still crazy as I believe the gun has maybe 10 FPE left in it with a soon to come tweak. Attached are the pics of the calculations as well as a 5 shot group I shot at 33 yards with NSA 38.9 grain slugs (which measure exactly 38.9). These were running about 1020 fps on average so about 90 FPE.

Changed TX

I could not find a hunter carbine so I bought a standard tx and made a hunter carbine out of it. It was easy to do I cut the shroud off at the end of the barrel so there is no more baffles in the barrel,The sound seems the same to me but my ears are not that good anymore.lol. I also made a cocking aid on my lathe for it a slip on fit with loctite and its on their solid.
The rifle seemed muzzle heavy compared to my pro sport and now it feels like my pro sport and like it much better, it still shoots the same very accurate and gets better all the time I now have about 1000 pellets through it. Steve!

RTI Prophet II

Thinking about purchasing a RTI Prophet II performance for my first PCP air gun. It seems like it has good power, accuracy and is ambidextrous.

Im sure I would end up doing quite a bit of hunting with it. But I plan on doing a whole lot of backyard shooting with it.

Is it possible to get it backyard quiet shooting

JSB Redesigned Monster Pellets .22 25.39 at around 950 fps or so?

Im concerned it could be too loud.

.20 HW97 - it is going to be a great day!

I have written about this rifle before, but it continues to amaze me.

Everyday, I try to fit in at least a little trigger time. This morning, before delving into the work world that allows me to pay for this hobby's requirements, I pulled my .20 caliber HW97 out of the vault, for probably the first time in three or four weeks. It has a Vortex Steel HO tuning kit in it, and the internals have all been hand polished and the trigger totally disassembled, polished, and tuned. It is always one of my most accurate rifles, including PCPs inside of 50 yards.

This morning I attempted all 15 of the RX targets as shown below. While at only 18 yards, it is really hard to run all of them without a miss. I attempted to do so this week with all of my other .177s and .20s, including an AA S510, a Weihrauch HW100T, and a BSA R10-SE, none of them made it through without at least one fringe miss.

Everything must have been right today as with this rifle, I was able to run the RX targets cleanly, knocking all of the 1/4" paddles downs with one shot each, and with authority.

I utilized the JSB 13.73 gr pellet in this rifle. It is equipped with Vortex Diamondback 5-24x50 FFP scope, sitting on to of an RWS lockdown droop compensating mount. The only other modification is the addition of a Rowan Engineering cocking handle.

An image of the rifle and 18 yard plus 50 yard tuning targets are attached for your enjoyment.

Air Arms Pro Sport Ambi Stock

I ended up buying a used Pro Sport, but unfortunately it is a right handed rifle and I am left handed. I bought it with the intention of finding or having a custom ambi stock made so that my kids can also shoot the AA Pro Stock.

I did a web search and saw there are some custom air rifle stock companies and I want to check and see if anyone on the forum has any recommendations for a company that you have worked with or know that did good and clean work? I see names like:

Gary Canes Gunstocks
Mad Dog Customs
Randy's Custom Rifle
AirgunStocks.com

I might even consider an OEM left handed Pro Sport stock if anyone knows where to get one. It seems like Air Arms will not ship here so I am trying to figure a resolution. Any insight is appreciated.

Tax Season… Time for an FX?

Hi all, new member here and first post!

So it’s tax season.. which means I’m looking for ways to burn some dough lol. I got my first pcp a little over a year ago, an AEA .22, that I use for pesting squirrels on our property. Now, I kind of want to get something to deal with the coyotes. I was thinking an FX either the impact or the panthera in .30. Really just like the looks and form factor of the panthera over the impact but I’m sure most people will advise going with the impact? What do you guys think? Also, as this will inevitably be nicer than my AEA I’m sure I’ll want to use it for squirrels too, is .30 the right choice?

SOLD ***Benjamin Sheridan ***

An older friend of mine is cleaning out a few of his older airguns and asked if I could help him. These are in excellent working order. Except the one needs seals. Description on the cards for each rifle in the pics. Please feel free to contact me via text 208899380three or call. I can answer questions to the best of my ability.

Thanks for looking, Phillip

Interesting read

I came across this article on scopes that others may find enjoyable. According to the poster there are very few factories building scopes, they just rebrand them.
