Shooting my Veteran with my new friends.

My new guests...I was assured...were "used to gunfire"...where they are standing is around 50 yards from my targets. Those of us that have or are familiar with Veterans know how quiet they are out of the box, I have mine turned down to around 800 fps with domes in addition to having a Sumo fitted...it's about as quiet as an airgun can be, although noise isn't an issue for me...I was throughly suprised with the first shot...mostly hitting the cardboard...the horses hightailed it to the middle of the field...wouldn't have believed it...can hardly hear it in inside the house! I had many cats and a few dogs endure MUCH noiser springers without even waking up from their naps! All I know about horses is they are expensive and they can hurt you...easily. I told these guys and gal...that as my guests they were just gunna' have to get used to it...They were quite impressed with the Vets preformance compairing that days group to one six months ago...even with a little wind...CP domes @ 30yds off my knee....penney group is what the horses saw.

T shirt with a pocket?

Just wondering if there is a chance we could get a t-shirt with a pocket. Don’t know how others might feel about this. I know I have a ton of t-shirts and the ones I go to first have a pocket on them. I realize they would cost more but I’m betting you would sell a lot if the. Put the logo on the pocket anf a larger logo on the back.
What say others on this suggestion?

Tip for Backyard Shooting Steel Targets

I use a suppressed PCP in my backyard, on an acre in the county but the impact sound on steel spinners and steel squirrels can be pretty loud. These targets would just ring at a high pitch at impact and didn’t want to annoy my neighbors.

I installed a HVAC product, thumb gum, which is like sticky tack but denser and more sticky on the back of each target. It has reduced the high pitched ring considerably and held in place through the summer and winter without issue. The targets are heavier and don’t spin quite as much but also is nice that they settle back into resting position faster.

This was my best solution to reduce the noise and enjoy my hobby. Also made a wooden box packed with the thumb gum as a pellet catcher for target practice, 6x6 small targets. Super quite and never had one go through the box.

Anyone use this product or have another solution to reduce the report of impacts?

Starting over

Hi there ,

Its been sometime since I have owned an air rifle, but the time has come to get going again .
I have a short list and would value the opinions of those in the know and maybe avoid some of the pitfalls.
So here goes ;
1. Fx dreamline
2.Fx crown
3.Hw 100 k …
4.Air arms s 510

I live in Ireland all air rifles irrespective of power output are firearms and require a licence , as a result most air rifles that are imported run at FAC levels ( >12 ftlb) .
Air rifles are not very popular here unlike the Uk . So reliability is paramount or the ability to self service, as most gun dealers here are clueless about them . As for caliber 0.22 was my preference.
I would value your thought and experiences .
thanks
Dave

Suggestions for a semi-auto pistol for rapid-fire bullseye target work?

I'm looking to add a semi-auto pistol to my collection. On a whim I picked up an Umarex P08 Luger BB pistol (non-blowback) and it is pretty terrible. The trigger is 11+ lbs and such a long pull that I can barely make it through two mags (40 shots) before getting sore, and it is inoperable by the young person I wanted to teach because it takes so much finger strength. Additionally, the sights aren't adjustable and it shoots an inch right at 10 feet.

I'm a bit spoiled, in that I normally shoot air pistols with competition style 2-stage triggers and good sights, like my IZH 46M or Beeman P3. I'd be fine with a trigger that shoots like a typical semi auto PB, just not the horrid double-action only of the Umarex. A model of a PB pistol with a decent realistic trigger would be welcome for rapid-fire practice. I'd like adjustable sights, or a way to mount an optic. Doesn't have to be terribly accurate, but I'd pay more for accuracy.

If I had the budget I'd go for a Steyer LP50, but I can't justify that cost.

Currently I'm looking at a Diana Chaser w/ rifle kit since I know I'll like the trigger, but I'd prefer an actual semi-auto to a bolt-action repeater. I've also considered a Crosman Vigilante as they seem very popular, but reviews make it seem the double action trigger is pretty stiff.

Anyone have a suggestion for a semi with a decent trigger?

Buying FX Impact ?’s before buying

I’ve had several impact but I’ve sold them all about 3 years ago. I’m looking to get back into PCP’s, I like what’s going on with the slugs. I’ve got a Vudoo 22lr and I love it but just got to see what these new guns can do. Are they comparable to 22lr in accuracy? Not worried about matching power just accuracy.

If I buy an impact I’m really liking the compact look. I’ve been reading the compact is a lot harder to tune. I don’t like the 800mm barrel it just looks goofy but I’m okay with the 700mm barrel.

Would I be more happy with the 700mm over the compact?

I just want something that’s gonna shoot really well. MOA at 100

Am I expecting too much out of these guns. My Vudoo is a really great shooter am I gonna be disappointed if I compare an impact to a Vudoo strictly in accuracy alone.

If you all have group pics pls I’d love to see what you all are able to achieve. Thanks for your time. Look forward to hearing some feedback.

This guy needs some attention!

Just wanted to give a big shout out of thanks to member QBALL here on the forums. I met him at the PAC West Airgun Show last weekend for the first time, and had a memorable lunch with him. Leading up to this event I had told him about my two Delta Stryker scopes set up on my target guns, and I was lacking a focus wheel. I thought I could get by without one, but the range to focus crystal clear at 100 to the point I’m reading fine print on the target required such fine, tiny movement on the focus knob. We talked about how a wheel vs a knob style would be better overall. So last weekend I handed him my scope to come up with the design.

I am a big fan of the BLADE series of the Daywalker, and always liked those boom a rang type of throw knives he used. So I sent a pic of BLADE’s throw knife, and asked if he could make the inner spoke in the curbed blade design vs boring @$$ spokes.
He texted me Sunday night with pics, and said he was done.

I truly love my Delta Stryker HD 5-50 x 56 scopes. The one negative I have had with them is the removal of the windage turret to reset to zero. There isn’t enough material protruding out past the turret cap to grab onto, and my numb fingers leaves me feeling like an urangutang trying to pop a zit. So I drew up a finger drawn sketch of a clamp idea, to see if maybe, just maybe, QBALL could come up with something. So this was the idea-
8B99EB3E-2489-44D1-9077-6D8E54BCD405.jpeg
, but man oh man his own idea was even better. The clamp self tightens as a friction fit, so no finger pressure required to squeeze on the turret cap-

Those of you that own DS with this type of turret cap removal system know what I’m talking about, what a bear they can be to remove, especially if the scope is new!

So here are the focus wheels. One of my Impacts sports a red/black “Chicago Bull” theme, so a hint of red went into that wheel, while my Silver/Black(the Silver Surfer is it’s name) was done in all black. The Blade design inner core came out perfect!

Focusing the parallax will be so much easier, and it also gives me the opportunity to add yardage stickers on the perimeter of the wheel for easy visual if need be.

Thanks again Mr Qball! Great job, and now my scopes are complete as far as required accessories.

24 no more

I had 3 of these Diana 24’s. It was a model anyone could buy in Canada. If I hit a squirrel with all three of them at the same time it would laugh. POS. Gave one away, traded another for 12 Pitas and kept this one. When I got the piston seals from Vortek, I asked Tom if he had a spring for the 24. Just installed this afternoon.
After I cleaned the barrel I got it up to 412 fps. After the spring kit 600 fps.

I felt good 50% more speed, wow. Shot free hand hitting a soup can 30 yds. I was impressed then I picked up my R7 to compare. The 24 was gritty compared to the R7. Had fun with this little project.
This is real time 7:15 still light out (lovin it ) here’s two bald eagles I’m watching from my chair. Looks like they’re fishing in a crack in the ice.

That’s open water behind them. Doesn’t get much better. Crow

Buying first PCP

Hi!

As an owner of a Weihrauch springer, I'm looking to buy my first PCP. I'm looking for a quiet (neighbor friendly), accurate and long range PCP. After searching I ended up with three options:

1. Air Arms S510 XS TDR or Air Arm S510T Tactical

2. Weihrauch HW100/110 ST.

3. FX Panthera or M3 or Wildcat mk3 bt.

I Liked the Weihrauch HW 110 ST it is the cheapest of them, but I read a lot of reviews of this gun that it has a power drop issue. The wildcat, hw100 and air arms have the same price.

I need your thought and opinions on which one do you recommend.

Note: I need the PCP for target practice only.
