FX Impact barrel cleaning. Which direction?

I have read most of the threads regarding cleaning the fx m3 barrel. However, I have yet to see anyone address what I feel is pretty important. Which direction is best? I tried my home made patch worm and fed from the breech end. As I inserted, I kept having a feeling that I might be poking some internal o-ring and doing damage. Then I thought I would push a cleaning pellet from the end of the barrel toward the breech. That had me thinking if there were any o-rings then I might be pushing them out. Does anyone have a definitive answer?

Impact M3 22cal question

Hello,
I am looking for info on this setup in pellet only. I am wanting to play with it for EFT and possible N50 and hunting. I just want to shoot pellets. What kind of energy can I get with a 600 or even 700 barrel? FX shows fpe but with slugs, I want what you guys are getting in the real world with pellets. Can I get 50fpe?

Thanks
Jon

Do most vendors charge sales tax on shipping?

I just placed an order at Pyramyd Air and was surprised to see that they charged (collected) tax on the shipping costs. I can’t remember the last time I placed an order at Pyramyd that I didn’t buy enough stuff to get free shipping, but that was the case today. Sales tax in my zip code is 7%; I bought $101.94 in goods and services and there was $13.33 in shipping charges. They charged (collected) $8.07 in sales tax which is 7% of $115.27… the full amount of my ordered items and shipping. It’s not a big deal but it did come as a surprise.

edit for accuracy.

Tuning  FX wildcat mk3 bt softer valve spring to increase power?

Hi,

I watch Matt Dubber's YouTube video about tuning for high power airgun.

He mentioned that he uses a weak valve spring in his 22 cal Impact Mk2 with very high reg pressure to achieve 70 fpe with 34 gr slug.

I wonder if we can use that same concept on our guns. In my case, changing the valve spring to a weaker spring, hoping that the valve will close faster on lower rear reg pressure and less hammer for my 22 cal wildcat mk3 bt to shoot 27 gr HP slug at 1000ish fps.

The current settings are 160 bar rear reg pressure and 12 gram hammer which makes the gun quite violent.

I'm hoping to use the 11 gram with weaker preload and lower the rear reg pressure, while having the weak valve spring to close the faster to get higher speed.

What do you guys think? Workable?

HW95 .22 Goodness

Just put on a new scope a spent some time to re-zero.
It's nice when your hunting springer, HW95 .22, likes multiple pellets. It also shoots the Crossman hollow points a little better than the 18.13 JSB'S.
As you can see I shot a very damaged Hades with not so good results.
I shot the 18.13's first and then the Hades. The elevation is ok but the Hades shifted right a little. The crossmans have almost the exact same POI as the 18.13's.
I practice with the Crossmans and hunt with the 18.13 JSB'S. I switch over to the Hades when pesting anything bigger than tree rats.

Food for thought: world's weirdest Webley?

Spied on Facebook today. This is a Webley Tempest action - with the barrel and entire internal action REVERSED - and a weird multiple-needle injector gizmo added to the front. It's a tool for tattooing the ears of racing greyhounds...!

I believe this absolutely takes the cake as the most unusual modification of an airgun I have ever seen. Wow.

Air Tanks  SOLD [SOLD] Omega 100cu in / 24.9cc SCBA 4500psi PCP Guppy Air Tank w/ Valve & 40" Quick Detach Hose

Hello AGN:

I recently (and finally) got my own compressor so no longer need to keep as many air tanks around anymore and am looking to sell a couple of them. Up for sale is:
  • Omega 100cu in / 24.9cc Guppy tank w/ valve and 40" quick detach fill hose; born on date is 10/2019 so it is still within its original 5 year hydro. This tank can be filled by dive shops through 10/2034. Ever since I filled it for the first time, this tank has been sitting unused in my home office and holding air perfectly. I've never had the opportunity to take any of my rifles into the wild to do any shooting so have never needed a guppy tank; this tank has never left my house. As such, this tank is in like new condition with no noticeable wear to be found anywhere. The fill hose has high quality quick detach Foster fittings on both ends - including an extended length fitting on one end to make it easier to use with rifles like the FX Impact which has a recessed fill port. Price is $300 shipped within the CONUS (HI & AK at add'l cost).
I've got plenty of references here so please feel free to check them on the Member Feedback forum prior to purchasing. Paypal Friends & Family payment is prefered (otherwise, please add 3.5% to cover the fees). Local pickup in the SF Bay Area is available as well.

Thanks!

PCP Rifle  SOLD Daystate Huntsman Classic .22 / Parts or Fix - AZ Gun

I’ve bought this used and have owned it for a number of years. It served as my main yard rifle but developed a slow leak. I took it to have it resealed but the next week it was leaking again. I tried to do it myself but was unsuccessful also. The rifle was purchased by the original owner and shipped to AZ for his shroud, trigger work, and a tune ($675 worth of work.) I purchased it shortly thereafter. It performed flawlessly for a long time until the leaking issue. It has some scratches on the outside of the valve housing but the O-ring should keep that from being an issue. If someone has one of these and wants to buy it for the top end to use the custom spacer and shroud, it would be worth it just for those or you may want to try to fix it. The barrel shoots incredibly well also. I am offering it for $425 shipped within the Continental U.S. which includes only the rifle and one magazine.

Air Arms TX200 vs HWs / Beeman Rs

Did a search but still have this question.......Is the quality of the Air Arms TX200 that much better than the HWs and Rs to be priced so much higher?
I have a chance to pick up a AA TX200 Hunters Carbine but it's several hundred higher than the German guns. I already own a R7 and R11 so I know what they're about, but I've never owned or shot an Air Arms TX200.
Thanks

Tuning  FX Panthera Hunter slug jamming fix.

I have hunter in 22cal. that jammed constantly. Irritating!!! Ted, in his review pointed out the issue with the void in the thicker lids. My take is he under stated the problem. Understandable. FX has represented the Hunter as a PELLET shooter, not a slug shooter. Perhaps. On the other hand, my be that disclaimer wasn't about performance , but rather function. The thicker top is needed to account for the deeper mag well of the Hunter as compared to a shallower mag well of the models it was intended for. Since the video by Ted proves the Nielsen 20.2gr. slugs in .216 group really well, performance is not the problem: it's a jamming problem due to a poor design. FX can respond that they didn't represented the Hunter as a slug shooter, so we're using the gun for a purpose it was not intended for. Perhaps. The magazines do work great with pellets. So here is my hack to fix the magazine to run the 20.2gr slugs perfectly. Someone should 3D print these spacers that allow for the thinner lids. Simply use a solvent based cement or epoxy to attach. Bill and Addi.

20230623_111712.jpg

Good day with the new to me 22 HW95 Field Pro.

Finally getting to get to shoot this gun outdoors. I was initially disappointed with it. I might be to blame for that. I scrubbed and polished the barrel when I tuned it back in January or February. After shooting approximately 500 or 600 rounds through it the barrel is finally settling in. It's liking the FTTs.

So today while shooting groups a hapless G-hog ran out under the porch towards the target board. I got him clean DRT at 18 yards.

Then I shot this ten dimes target at 28 yards.
