PCP Rifle  NLA JTS Airacuda MAX .22 caliber that leaks air

Hello everyone

OK, PLEASE read all of this:
I purchased this rifle 10/03/2023 from High Pressure Pneumatics and have shot a bit over 2000 pellets to date, shoots really good and held air up until 11/12/2023. I noticed that the air cylinder was losing air over night from 3,000 down to 2800. I am not a gun smith and do not want to work on this rifle. It will cost me approximately $25 to $30 to send it back for $3.00 worth of new seal to be installed, so if you are a person that enjoys working on air guns I will offer this at a reduced price of $345.00 and I will pay the shipping to lower 48 states. PLEASE NOTE: I am selling this rifle “AS-IS”, I do not want any misunderstandings concerning this sale.

I originally paid $446.00. Comes with three (3) factory Magazines and all of the original factory accessories and original factory box and another outer shipping box.

If you decide to purchase I will list this on my website so it can be paid with a credit card.

Scope and Rings DO NOT go with the sale.

Ships Free to lower 48 states ONLY.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

GX-CS4 finally arrived...

The compressor arrived in excellent condition. Instructions are simple and easy. Based on the reviews, I flushed the cooling system with distilled water several times until the water ran crystal clear. I then let the pump run unstressed for a bit to let everything break-in and "seat" property. I closed the bleed for short periods to add a little stress before actually doing the dead head test. It only took 26.6 seconds to reach 300 bar.

If you saw my previous thread, I was a little worried about the coupler. Upon trying it on the Wildcat MkIII, along with the FX supplied coupler, I dare say, the GX coupler is actually smoother to operate and feels like a better connection. Guess I won't need an adapter for now. But, I now know a good place to get one, if I do!

I have been gingerly shooting the original fill from SPAW. I sighted in with the FX 18.1's, then swapped to the longer rail for the Immersive 14x50 and sighted in for the Atomics. I've since taken three squirrels. I've shot three and a half mags and that got me to ~175bar. I set the stop at close to 232 bar as my eyes would let me. Set the backup at 240. I hooked the Wildcat up to the CS4, turned on the fans, then the compressor. I let it cycle a little, then closed the bleed valve. It built to ~180 quickly. Just a few short minutes later, it hit the shutoff. If the gauge on the gun is remotely accurate, I think that's about as close as I could get. Especially for the first time!

This was super simple and about as painless as it could be, sans the external power pack. For my needs and at $504 shipped, I think I made the right decision. I guess I'm now one of the guinea pigs in this experiment. First tenth on the hour meter. Time will tell so, we shall see...

Thank you to all who have replied to my posts, pm'd, and for the ones who provided the excellent historical content to search. It's made my introduction to PCP's much easier.

PCP Question

I am considering getting an air pistol so I am not yet even yet a newby.

For use indoors or in my back yard, CO2 seems the best choice. For use at my gun club with 25 and 50 yard target berms, a PCP style pistol seems to be correct.

My question: Can I use a PCP pistol for short range indoor shooting if I simply fill it up to a lower pressure?

Idea for better pellet speeds

It is reasonable to assume that the limiting factor for pellet speeds in air guns is the speed of sound in the barrel. If you just let compressed air expand behind the pellet, then the pellet would only accelerate until its speed matches the speed of the expanding air, and the speed of the expanding air can't be faster than the speed of sound.
But, if you impart velocity onto the expanding air itself, then this might be able to compensate for this effect.
A bit like what they are doing in this video:

So, creating a nozzle behind the pellet might actually make it go faster, even if it would be a bit of a choke point. This could actually be quite easy to do on most air guns, by incorporating a choke into the probe (to create a nozzle with the barrel walls), assuming much less air resistance all the way through the port, valve and to the air tank (i.e. higher cross-sectional area).

like this:

probechoke.jpg

(the second choke version is intended to be like the ports on some springers, which have stepped changes in diameter to induce eddies and reduce air resistance)

PCP Rifle  WTS FX Impact MK3, fully outfitted

Hello,

I have an FX Impact M3, .30 cal with:

Element Optics Nexus scope

Carbon fiber barrel shroud with harmonic tuner

Donny FL Fat Boy moderator, moderator extender, and air stripper

Saber Tactical extended upper rail, Saber Tactical extended Arca bottom rail

Saber Tactical adjustable buttpad

GRS topmount bipod and adapter

$4,000.

PCP Rifle  SOLD FX Impact MK1 .25 for sale **PRICE UPDATE**

These don't come up too often anymore. Your chance to get a mk1 impact before the smooth twist x liners came out. This gun has only had at most 500 pellets through in between me and the original owner. Im the second owner, and only put between 100 and 200 shots through it myself. After receiving it, I ordered a few upgrade parts for it but never installed them. I completely re-sealed the gun and polished some of the internals to get the shot string to tighten up. After doing that, I sighted it in with a few more pellets and basically put it back in the case where it stayed for the past two years. The gun shoots flawlessly and is in great condition. There is the slightest little imperfection of the DLC coating on the barrel but you cannot even feel it, it is only superficial, and there is a couple little scuffs on the bottle where a bipod rested from the previous owner. It comes with one of Ernest Rowes' custom cocking levers and the OEM one, the upgrade parts I never installed, a complete replacement set of seals and gaskets, some unopened scope stickers from utah airguns, an unopened can of jsb exact king diabolo's, and everything else seen in the photos. I'm asking $900 obo plus shipping, which we can split. CONUS. I accept Paypal F&F or you cover the fees. Feel free to pm me or text/call me at my cell (317)315-9528 with questions. Thanks for looking.

Hoot to Shoot day

Hello everyone,

Here is how you turn a cold, wet and windy day into a Hoot to Shoot. My good friend and neighbor Mr. D ( Delbert ) invited me over to his farm to do a bit of target shooting. I had just completed the new Alpha Bullet~Pellet-Trap ( I will do a separate thread on this later ) so I took it with me and spent half a day doing some test shooting. Set the Trap out at a measured 50-Yards and shot two clips (22LR) and only removed some paint at the impact area. Talk about being spoiled, I was chauffeured via the golf cart, out to the Trap for inspections. Got back home and set the Trap out at 10-Meters and shot the heck out of it with my .22 cal Airacuda Max using both 18.1gr at three of the 10-Rings and some 25.4gr. I shot 25-shots of the 25.4gr at the last 10-Ring and pretty much stack all 25 shots. Looking on the inside none of the pellets even removed any of the paint at the impact areas. Turned out to be a really great day and thank you Delbert.

Questions about classifieds

I wasn't sure how to find a mod here straight out, so any help from them is appreciated along with any of you members.

I haven't been so active in the forums themselves, mostly the PMs about the collection I posted about some time ago.

Been selling some things on American Classifieds, but would rather sell here to you all, as a lot of you that contacted me were very helpful. Also, running into many uh, odd characters texting me or emailing was less than desireable. Understandably, a lot of people that contacted me were highly suspicious of scammers. I could see why, as I saw a few myself, but I also thought that might be quelled a little bit more here, as you seem to watch each other's backs. Even sending multiple requested pictures, it was hard to convince people that I wasn't scamming them, and although it's understandable, it's a little exhausting. 🫠

I have quite a few to sell as well, still. I've only sold a few, so another question would be, how many posts are considered too many here? I don't want to spam the heck out of the classifieds with every individual item. Is there a way to list them all in one post or does it have to be one at a time? If so, how many would you all say is reasonable? I don't want to be disrespectful or rude. Please give me any heads up needed.

I have the required amount of messages to post there, but as I said, I haven't been as active in the forum. I've been swamped with trying to work and take care of the things necessary since my dad's passing. If that is a problem with me advertising here, I would like to know that as well.

Thanks all, in advance. :)
