I ordered a RPB barrel in 25 caliber for the RTI Arms shop back in November. It came it was delivered just before I was heading out for several weeks away so I did not get to install it until yesterday.
I did a quick bore cleaning and polish I installed it and the .25 pellet probe. loaded some JSB King Heavy 33.95 gr pellets and headed out to my backyard range.

I set up a target on my 50 yard backstop. The first shot was low. The second also low but right on top of the first. I made adjustments to my scope and the next 8 shots were all right on target. This without changaing anything from my tune for the .22 LR barrel that it replaced.

Next up were a few FX Hybrid slugs. POI was higher than the pellets, but again hole on hole.

Back to the JSBs. I shot 60 shots with amazing accuracy and consistency. I really was not expecting this one to outperform the 22 Lr, but it did. Very pleased with this new barrel.

Next I need to get out the Chronograph and do some actual testing and fine tuning, but it is raining here today, so that will have to wait.
I almost dont want to mess with the tune. It just seems near perfect where it is.

I’m wondering about a 54 or 56th converted to .25

Hello everyone, I’m not sure if this question has already been answered as I couldn’t find a direct comparison. I was wondering if a Umarex Notos or a Gamo Urban would make a better first budget PCP air rifle. I would mainly be using it for plinking and small game hunting.

I have a friend who has a FWB 300 that he is selling and does not know a fair price to charge me for it. I believe it is the base model, i.e, the comb is not adjustable. It is in relatively good condition, considering its age. The wood does not have any cracks, large pressure marks, or scratches. The finish on the bottom of the forearm is thinning. The bluing is in good condition with minor freckling in a small area around rear sight dovetail. i have shot it rifle and it appears to be very accurate, itdoes not appear to have any mechanical problems. Is $550 a fair price? Thanks, Tom

I just wanted to show a little project I did over the holidays: converting a Co2-Revolver to HPA/PCP.

As base I used a Gamo PR-776 Co2 Revolver in .177 (it’s quite a standard revolver, you can find under many labels and names). It`s one of the „typical“ 100-bucks-Revolvers, so nothing too great.

As powersource I currently use approx. 1050 psi of pressure, coming from a 26cui regulated HPA-paintballtank.

That results in pretty consistent 295 fps with a variety of just +- 8fps (you always lose fps compared to using Co2). Also, the choice of pellets seems to make a big difference in fps and energy. 8 grain pellets go up to 310 fps. I actually use 7,87 grain pellets (the Gamo has a rifled barrel). I get like 2,2 joule / 1,6 ft/lbf of energy. As I am shooting on 10 yards in my basement, this is just right. Making pretty clean holes for a airgun, but not using much gas or putting too much pressure on the system.

I still need to adjust the sights (the Gamo shooting pretty high, so I need to work a bit on that, because I actually have to aim under the target, without having a single point to aim). Still I am pretty happy with the results so far, for testing (standing free, holding with both hands). The four pellets in the hole to the right are within 5/8”.

The gauge on the paintball tank didn’t go down noticeably, even though I was testing for more than 120 shots. I think u can easily do 1000+ shots with one filling of the tank to 3000 psi. Saving a lot of Co2 and money of course. If you are interested in a longtime review, just let me know.

Butt hook for Skout Epoch.

I worked with Andy @NAIAD001 to get a decent butt piece for my Skout so that I could “get it off the bench” and shoot EFT. I sent the factory butt pad and mounting piece to him, and he did an excellent job. Perfect fit. It allows the same adjustments as the factory butt pad. I removed the wing extensions since I like a tight fit on my shoulder. Last photo shows the butt hook with wing extensions.

So, I started building this rifle back in November. Posted pics and was going to shoot it next day on the chrono. I filled tank to 4100psi and during the night, the cheap chinese regulator blew a burst disk. So I ordered a Ninja high pressure reg from Hajimoto and decided to redo a few things while i waited on it. Heres the final version. I have only shot it to 50 yds thus far. At 2400psi on reg and 1 1/4 turns in on hammerspring it was chronoing at 52 fpe @ 840 fps with JSB 25.39 pellets. It shoots great. Ill post what i have now and then follow up with final results.Going out to the family farm tommorrow to see what she will do. I dont think i'll have any problem getting over 60 fpe from this rifle. I will post results. Its a .22 Avenger that i sent the barrel and action to Ailen Airguns. Wayne ported barrel, increased valve to 7mm and installed 8mm peek poppet. Installed heavy hammerspring and a light valve spring. He removed factory plenum ceiling and installed 25cc plenum. I installed an AESWEDE trigger and shortened carbon fiber shroud with his bottle bands. I installed 700cc carbon fiber bottle with a Ninja high pressure regulator, so the gun is dual regulated. The scope is a Monstrum G2 6-24 x 50 and the tripod is a Talon Tunes carbon fiber custom. The chasis is from Termidator which i painted to my liking and features a folding stock for easy hammerspring adjustment.

I have a quick question. Are there any vendors that offer pellets in bulk at a discount?

I'm going to be buying a new .25cal rifle this spring and have narrowed it down to these two. Not taking the cost difference into consideration....which one would you buy and why. I can make my own 35gr slugs so I do want to shoot slugs as well as pellets. The King I'm looking at is the 600mm version. I would use the gun to hunt with as well as shooting from the bench. When I mean hunting I'm referring to stationary set up, or walking around a farm. Not interested in shooting over 100 -150 yards. I can't use a moderator, so if one is quieter than the other, please comment on that.

Hi all happy new years .I have crosman 2240 it will not cock right I pull the cocking lever back put in pellet and pushward but it will go all the way forward and go in to locking Slut .so I can not load a pellet .any help I replace barrel it 14 177 caliber it is all stock in side trigger Assemblyis all stock also .any help would be great oldgeorge God bless thanks

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while, working too much I guess. Anyway, I am looking to upgrade from my Avenger and I am starting my research. I've searched here on the forums, as well as Youtube.

Considering a AGT Uragan II, or a Taipan Veteran II. Not set on length yet either. Looking for real world feedback, and any other's in this price range that I should consider. It is my understanding that the Taipan's are very reliable with regard to air leaks, does the Uragan share that same trait? Looking forward to your suggestions and feedback.

I am trying to fill my new Hatsan Bullboss.
I am using an air compressor.
Hooked eveything up and filled the tank on the gun.
I shut the pump off at 20 bar which the guage on the gun showed at 20 also.
Opened the air release valve on the compressor to take the air hose off
but the tank on the gun emptied also. tried it twice.
What am I doing wrong ?

After the success I had with rebuilding the FWB601 I wanted to look at rebuilding the Beeman R1 that I got in the sale as well. Was sitting at a local gun show with the rifle on the table with a price tag on it. Got a few looks and quite a few people talking about the FWB 601 and the R1. This got me to thinking about possibly rebuilding the R1 and seeing how it would be to actually shoot the rifle. Now mind you I am no spring shooter by any means but it would be fun to make sure everything is ok with the rifle. I have been shooting it off and on, and have been getting an average of just under 12 ftlb of power. To me that seems like plenty of power for a backyard spring gun, as well as a daily target shooter.

So my question to you guys..... how would one go about putting new internals in the rifle. And where would one even start to look at getting a quality kit for the rifle?


It shoots great as it is right now, and being the Santa Rosa rifle I guess it is a higher quality rifle?

To have a big enough back yard to shoot in,to have enough airguns to choose from ,to be able to shoot offhand,to be able to share with others our hobby or sport.
Yes ,there are far more important things in life,right now I am thinking abut our airgun sport and the help ,joy and sometimes the frustration it brings me.
This is my feeling,it is not political it is about the joy I have of being Free and feeling the Blessing I have for the freedom to do so.

As reported on the Hunting section of the Forum I had the opportunity to use a BRK Ghost .30 Cal during a mule deer hunting.

Compared with my .30 Cal PCP’s ( an Evanix, a Jager, a Vulcan 2 tactic, a Daystate Renegade HP, a Vulcan 3 700 mm, a Sidewinder and a Wolverine HP non HR), the following are my main points to tell about the Ghost:

- The Ghost is the easiest rifle I know to shoot off hand.
- I do not have any rifle that is as smooth at the shot.
- The way to increase and decrease power is excellent.
- The accuracy is perfect.
- The number of shots per fill with enough power to take a javalina (number 12 in the power selector) allow you to have more than enough shots per fill for a hunt.
- The trigger can be adjusted to leave it perfect for hunting.
- The size is perfect to carry.
- The weight is very comfortable to carry.

I did not had the chance to test it shooting to targets above 70 yards, but at 70 yards the accuracy was perfect.

I decided to let my cousin to keep this Ghost just because I already have more than enough .30 Cal rifles….. But doubtless the BRK Ghost is a super rifle.

Does anyone use their Rock Chucker for a press. I noticed Corbin doesn't offer the dies anymore. Any alternatives.

Meticulous 97K in .22. I can’t find a mark or flaw on it anywhere. Superbly accurate Bought new in January ‘22, I have since gotten sucked into the black hole of PCPs and just don’t see myself using it enough to justify keeping it. No more than a few hundred pellets down tube. Scope and rings not included - unless you’d be interested in a package deal. Don’t hesitate to ask for more detailed pictures you’d like to see.

Right before the holidays, I decided I have room for one more nice air rifle in my collection. The one person I had never purchased a rifle from that seemed to have a really good reputation and be a great vendor that supports our hobby was Tony at Talon Tunes. So after a lot of on-line research, I got on the Talon Tunes website mid afternoon on Christmas Eve and ordered a new .22 Uragan 2 700 mm in the carbon fiber configuration. On the electronics order I asked for a couple of specific accommodations as noted in the comments/instructions section. I entered the payment info and hit “send.”

To my surprise, within about 5 minutes I had a personal e-mail from Tony acknowledging my order and requests. About four days later (Christmas was in the middle of this) I received the shipping notice. A total of about a week from the time I placed the order the rifle was in my hands, perfectly packed and delivered, arriving exactly as I had it.

At a glance, it is what you would expect from an Eastern European rifle, military/tactical style in appearance, highly functional, but certainly not with the finish of an FX Crown/King, Daystate Red Wolf etc. But I bought it because of its reputation for accuracy and function so I expected this in the first place.

I like everything about it except for two minor things. The safety isn’t positive in its position - no detent - so occasionally it will engage when you aren’t expecting it. Second, the air guage is so small one can’t easily read it.

Other than these items it is great. I purchased with the medium length factory moderator. Works well.

Tony had it tuned for the 25.4 Gr pellets and on my indoor range it was shooting sub moa groups (virtually one hole) at an average of 966 fos. The magazines load easily and work flawlessly.

I had ordered from a different vendor an Athlon Chronos scope to mount on this rifle that has not yet arrived so I installed a new Athlon Argos 8-32 FFP MOA scope I had in my rack as a spare.

I tested 11 different pellets and slugs on the indoor range and then this morning took the best performing six projectiles and shot two groups each outside on in less than ideal conditions - snowing with 8 mph crossing winds from the left. The testing distance was 84.1 yards.

The best performance in these conditions came from the ZAN 30.5 Gr slugs in .217. The group sizes were about half of that of the various pellets tested in the wind conditions. Strelok Pro calculated the BC at .100. The average velocity at 1’ from the muzzle with these slugs during set-up was 868 fps and the two 10 shot groups indoors average .275” with the smallest group only .18” (MOA).

I have attached the group target for you to see. All in all, I am very pleased with the rifle and very please with Tony and Talon Tunes.

I spent a couple of hours yesterday sighting n my new Avenge X. I put around 100 rounds through it, then brought it in the house to clean it. I filled the cylinder to about 3500 psi and it sat overnight. This morning I went to shoot it again and on my first shot the only sound it made was that of the hammer spring. The gun didn't fire and the pellet stayed in the bore. The gun hadn't lost any air pressure, so I cocked it again and it fired normally. I sent a few more rounds through it and it's back to working normally.
I'm betting this can't be normal. Any idea what happened? Hammer spring is at 3 turns and the regulated pressure is 2000 psi. There was a bit of regulator creep, but nothing more than I hear about from other folks with this gun.

There are benefits to being a retired master mechanic besides the sore back and a stack of tools to walk around in the basement. Though right now the stack of tools is the only one I can think of. These two have been the latest reasons to dig through the tool stash. Rebuilding Feinwerkbau Airguns as become my favorite pass time, the quality of parts and engineering is a pleasure to behold. Top is a 1974 vintage FWB Model 65 I bought from a friend in the Netherlands. It needed to be freshened up with a new Feinwerkbau spring and buffers and seal from Jim Maccari. It cocks a little far back in the stroke from stacking of wear clearances but other than that is as tight as new and a same hole shooter. I can’t imagine how many thousands of shots have been through it over these many years. The second one is a Qishouqiang / Industry Brand / Tech Force SS2 FWB Model 65 clone I just bought from a member in Arizona. It had been rebuilt by Mac 1 a while back and the buffers are still fresh. It was completely inoperative thanks to the Chinese grease hardening though out the trigger and sledge systems. The grease had turned to gritty glue the likes of which I have never seen. Pins and levers that normally fall right out all had to be tapped or pried out, soaked in solvent, scraped and finally sanded to be fully cleaned. Four solid hours of work has netted a great shooting gun. For the record every part was an exact copy of the Feinwerkbau and other than stiffer cocking it would be tough to tell them apart. Now all that left is waiting for the FWB model 600 I just purchased from my friend in the Netherlands to arrive. It is in customs now and the rebuild seal kit will be here tomorrow.
