Day 2 of making sure I shoot...

I went out yesterday after work to confirm zero on the mini as it has work laid out for it tomorrow

And these were the first 5 shots out of the rifle after not touching it for weeks, 5 at 35 yards lmao, forgot I zerod it at 45 hence it being high. YUP LITERALLY A HOLE THE SIZE OF A PENCIL

20240202_163913.jpg

Soo, Day 2 of making sure I airgun because it's what I've found to be one of those things I truly love.

Today I decided to take it off the table and shoot off my tripod with obviously no rear rest and a stance I'm not quite used to anymore. Been quite some time since I've used it.

The pictures tell the story, comments, suggestions, tips welcome.

It was quite windy today, gusts over 20 mph and not many calm moments. Not all shots were perfect, not even close but nothing I am disappointed with. I think I'll be practicing more of this.

Here's the cherry 🍒 picked moments, isn't that what life is all about? Peri enjoyed it too....

Sorting .25cal pellets

I was thinking about sorting the MK2 Heavy 33.95gr pellets for longer range usage (50-100+ yards). is it better to sort them by weight or by head size? If I wanted to sort by head size, do you slug the barrel first to determine the size? What is a good pellet gauge to buy? I'm thinking this with regard to a polygonal barrel. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

N/A  Mystery wild shots?

This evening I took the HW30 .22 I shoot often to the 50' indoor club.I fired two off the bag to check zero then went for record offhand on the NRA Smlbore target. After the second Bullseye I was really confused some of the wild shots.
So I went back to the sighter rested and it got from bad to worse to the point of about a 6 inch group!!!

This was the same lot of pellets the same everything that I was shooting at 55 yd earlier today.

I pulled the target back put up a fresh target and it was back to a hitting center with all shots touching. Stock screws and scope mounts and everything were checked and they were snug.
This will be a mystery I will never figure out. It's like it went on a 10 shot vacation and then came back to where it was....

Snowpeak  Snowpeak M60B First Shots

Here is my first shots video with this Snowpeak M60B. I was worried when the first two pellets (JSB and AA 18gr) tested were grouping like crap. But luckily the Hades 16gr was able to group well. The gun was straight out of the box shooting these Hades at 957fps, 32 ft.lb.

I did manage to go out last night to shoot some rats with it. Video to follow next Saturday. Stay tuned.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Taipan Veteran .177 with Hawk Airmax 8-32x50WASF Scope and all the desired Accessories.....$1300 shipped!

Priced for a very quick sale!

Today Im selling my .177 Veteran along with everything you see on the rifle! It is an immaculate Bullpup! Perhaps one of my top 3 most accurate rifles I have ever owned and that is saying alot! It shoots hole-in-hole accuracy as you would expect from a Taipan. It is deadly quiet without the Tatsu LDC, but with the included Tatsu, all you hear is a "click." It comes with 4 mags, the mag holder, the fill port wth the holder, the power adjuster, the Hawk Airmax 8-32x50SF scope with sunshade and leveler, and the Leofoto 223 with the upgraded 52" wheel. (If I can find the smaller Leofoto wheel the single shot tray, and any other accessory, they will be included). The scope does have a scratch on it as you can see in the pics, but it works flawlessly.

You can feel safe with this purchase because I have years of being a member here and pages of excellent reviews here on AGN and GTA! I accept Paypal F&F, Venmo, and U.S.P.O Money Order.

$1300 Shipped Firm! Thank you for looking!

Air Venturi  Avenge-X .25 cal vs BRK Ghost .25 cal

Durring this review the Avenge-X was shooting at 87 yards, the BRK Ghost was shooting 8 shots groups with the JSB 33.95 mark II heavy’s, the FX 33.95 and the Umarex Brimstone 33.95 grains pellets at 98 yards. The Avenge-X was shooting with the Impulse Air 26 grain slugs, now compare the size of each groups…👍😉💪. While the Avenge-X was doing 1” inch groups with this 26 grains slugs the groups of the BRK Ghost was all over the place sometimes at over 2” inches 😱😳 despite the barrels of this expensives airguns are designed to shot with pellets. This is why I currently own four Air Venturi Avengers two .22 and two .25 cal and none of this extremely expensive that some airgunners call them “boutique airguns”. Sometimes we can obtain much better results and greater accuracy without the need of spending and arm and a leg in one of this “supposedly eight wonder of the world” high end airguns. The results speak for themselves, you be the judge.

Snowpeak M60B first rats shoot

It wasn't raining last night so I eagerly went out to the farm with the new Snowpeak M60B to shoot some rats. I have mounted my Pard008LRF on this gun and did quick zero check at my POA 10-30 yards with the Hades 16gr. The new video "Snowpeak M60B First Shoot" will be out tomorrow on my YT channel. I was able to test and find out the Hades 16gr was the most accurate out of 4 pellets type/weight.

It was almost 7pm when I arrived at the farm. I quickly setup my table and had the target box out at 10 yards. First shot with my holdover hit nicely on the target. I then check the rest of my holdover aim out to 30 yards. I was ready to blast some rats with this new gun pushing the Hades out at 957fps, 32ft.lb.

First shot was at 22 yards and I tagged the unwilling volunteer square in the head. It twitched for a bit and quickly expired. M60B had its first kill.

In total I shot 39 big fat rats and collected 20 in 3 hours. Some of the rats were inside some concrete and some ran back into the holes and some were in the cow pan area which the workers would clean up the next day. I could have shot more if the backdrops were safe and if cows were not in the way.

I noticed the rats got more damaged and bled more with the Snowpeak than with my HW100. An extra 4 ft.lb was evident in the channel wounds in these rats. I can't imagine what my Impact MK2 with 25gr, 52ft.lb would do to these rats, lol.

Video to follow next week. Cheers.

HW 95N Walnut Stock

After seeing a post by another member of his fancy looking HW95N, I thought....gotta get me one. So, I ordered one and asked them to pick me out a really nice one that I could show on the forum. They said they would pick me out something special. Here's what I received.
At first I thought....must be a mistake and they sent a Beech Luxus. I'm still not sure if it isn't one. What I am sure of is for $663.00 ....it's definitely NOT worth the extra money. It's going back immediately. What a joke!! Do yourself a favor and pass on this overpriced POS!

What will be your last, air rifle acquisition ?

I will have covered the field when I have fulfilled getting #1,an AA TX200 (walnut) in .177. A premium Under-LeverI with that fish-scale checkering with curl-de-lis (that is so nice), I already have a HW97K in 22cal which is phenomenal. #2, A pcp in .177, most likely a Flashpup Mk2. My 22 caliber Flashpup has a very good history and I'd like to get the new model , wood stock, with side lever in .177. And #3, I would like to get a .177 caliber CO2 Diana Chaser Kit or similar for indoors or out during the inclement weather. Then I'm DONE. With all my other rifles I will be pleasantly busy till the end of my days.
