Traditional Rifle  NLA Beeman R1 .177 cal for trade (looking for HW80 and HW90 or another 17+ FPE quality springer)

So I got this minty Beeman R9 in .177 cal. Really nice looking rifle. I JUST chrony’d like 5 minutes ago, and it turns out the rifle is making 13.5 FPE which is not enough for my purposes. I was honestly expecting 16 FPE or close to it…I’d have been happy if that was the case.

My LGU makes 14.5 FPE, HW95s are known to be closer to the 16 FPE range from what I’ve seen 😭

Was wondering if someone wanted to trade a .22 HW80/HW90 for it? Even .177 is fine as well. Just need to be in the 17+ FPE range.
Or if you’ve got another quality springer making 17+ FPE, would be happy to trade (SIG ASP20?).

PCP Rifle  SOLD Benjamin Marauder .22 LW Barrel & Hawke Scope: Reduced

For sale is a very-good condition .22 Benjamin Marauder with the Lothar Walther barrel and 3 magazines. I tried to take the best pictures I could. I am not the original owner but purchased it about six months ago. I have shot it once or twice, but got it out today for this sale and it was fine. The gun has a very slow leak that came with it, say about 1000 psi in two or three months. (I am not handy--read my posts--or I would have resealed it; If I kept it, I would figure this out and reseal it.) I suspect the original (?) owner raised the power a bit more than the factory tune as I compare the shot count to my other Marauder.

The person who sold me the gun told me it shot half-inch groups at 50 meters, and that it was the most accurate Marauder (or gun?) he ever owned. I have not verified this, but today (February 16), and because of this ad, I shot a four-shot (I intended to do five, but the mag ran out and I did not want to spoil the group coming back and repositioning myself) group with JSB 18.13 grains at 100 feet in gusting wind that came to about 1/4 inch or so. I have included a picture of the group below. There are two or three minor blemishes on the gun, so please see photos. [This section was edited today, February 16, and I deleted older material about the gun's accuracy.]

The Marauder comes with a Hawke 6.5-20x44 Sidewinder, which I purchased from Ebay in "new" condition from Optics Planet. The scope is flawless and only recently mounted on the BM. The controls are very smooth, it is illuminated, and the parallax is very good at ten yards and even less. I used Accushot 30mm High Rings (medium will work) with the protective synthetic tape so there are not likely ring marks on the scope. It comes with all the factory trimmings, but there is no sunshade, and I am not sure if this model ever had a factory one.

There are lots of pictures.

The price is $550.00 $475.00 shipped for the Gun, Scope, and Rings, CONUS only. If you want the Hawke box too, we can talk.
This is a nice combination.

Payment may be made by PayPal F&F, or please pay the fees; Cashier's Check; Personal Check (and shipping will wait for funds to clear), and I think I know how to do Venmo.

Thanks for looking. S7

Huben  GK1 Magazine won't index

So just received my GK1 22 today. I shot about 30 rounds through it, and the indexer for the magazine started jamming. Then it dumped the air like 4 or 5 times when i would clear the jam and refill. The lever on the magazine release loses tension. I remove it and the index mechanism inside is not coming back out and pressing on the little block behind the magazine lever. I get it freed up, and it does it again.

Any advice? Thanks

What color lenses for shooting glasses

I just ordered a new pair of prescription glasses. I got them in a drivers transition brown. They go from yellow in the dark to brown in bright light, and they are polarized. I am wondering what color lenses others use for shooting sports. I got mine to help define dark targets on field target courses. What other colors work?

Permission success, but just barely.

Finally, after about 2 months of time off from this permission I headed back for a few hours last weekend. Only spent about 2-3hrs there but ended up with 2 sparrows and 2 starlings.

This permission has tons of sparrows but they do not stay still, 99% of the time they land and move within a literal second. When we first started going there last year they weren’t like this, however I took some time off thinking they would become dumb again with no luck.

Glad to get out here and stretch the legs on my FX Crown but trying to yield a good amount of birds has just become impossible.

I made some starling decoys from some Halloween decorations and I will try them next time to see if I can get them to commit to a certain area or not.

When Airing Out Grievances Concerning a Vendor or Aftermarket Shop, Why Refrain from Naming the Offender?

I've read several threads on various forums about member complaints concerning mishaps, miscommunications, poor communication, switcheroos, poorly packaged items/damaged-in-transit items, lost items, guns held longer than anticipated (held hostage), unscrupulous practices, etc. After reading several posts and threads, I'm sometimes left scratching my head as to why the offenders' identities are not revealed. I've read some answer this question by stating that they want their guns and gear back as they hold on to hope that an unscrupulous entity or one with poor communication skills may come around and do right by them. That's their right to say or not say, but it is puzzling to me. Why even go public with no intentions on sharing the entire story including the resolution with the AGN community that you vented to?

I've had issues with vendors and shops to where I either filed grievances or declined to do business with them altogether. For those that I filed grievances with or against, I have been pretty diligent about communicating these things to this community. For entities that I declined to do business with, there's really been no need to say much. I avoided issues by declining to do business with some of those types. I've watched others have issues with some that I opted to avoid. Had I had issues with them, you'd better believe that the AGN community would hear about it. My issue with Optics Planet that spanned a couple of years has been pretty well documented on AGN and I was happy when it was finally rectified. I revisited a post that was a year or two old and updated it with the resolution. I also like to share my experiences when I receive outstanding service. At times I may communicate directly with an entity that I believe in, in order to help them improve their business. There is one that I have been thoroughly impressed with all the way around ever since they came on the AGN scene and that is Northeast Airguns. So I have shared two examples - one good, one bad - that you all can look up to verify (and there are more). With that said, is it asking too much of others to do a similar thing when they encounter outstanding or atrocious service or business practices when it comes to airgun related products and services?

Brocock/BRK  Careful with the PRS single shot loader with your Ghost.

Just a forewarning; the PRS single shot loader that fits the Ghost may give you trouble. Here’s what can happen, ( as it did to me), you open the port of the loader, place a pellet in, close the loader gate and the pellet can fall out and into the rear block of your gun if the gun is tilted rearward like when shooting off a bench with a bipod. I didn’t realize this til my gun wouldn’t fire one time only hearing the trigger click ,or it would fire at randomly different slow speeds, then fire normal again.I finally figured it out after shooting about three feet away from the target and nothing came out.By then I’m sure I had a few pellets in there gumming things up. I don’t have the balls enough to remove the rear block to clean it out either; so I guess it’s back to AoA to straighten out. I watched the Sub12 Airgunners guy on YouTube disassemble the rear block ( not for this reason) and it looks simple enough, but I just don’t trust doing it myself. I read where PRS has recently redesigned the loader and it doesn’t happen anymore, but I’m staying with the standard mag that came with the gun from here on out. My freaking luck. I love this gun to. It’s a tack driver, well built, and serious rat killer.

N/A  Let's divide PCP world..... For our benefit.

We have confirmed that there are MANY PCP rifles that are able to make fantastic groups at 100 yards, with pellets and slugs.

But after 120 yards, the rifles that are capable of making tight groups are not so many.

After 150 yards a real good combination of rifle and projectile is needed in order to achieve enough accuracy to deal with "real world" conditions and keep the groups tight.

I am of the idea that a new section of this forum should be created in order that we can go directly to learn about how others have reached really good accuracy farther away 150 yard and up to .... 250..... 300 ??

Clearly are two different disciplines, let's talk about them as different worlds.

First Kill with Zulus…

28 yards, Atomic XR, 14.3 gr CPHPs at 725 fps, rested in a yoke, off of my father in laws, 60 year old tripod…🤓 DRT! Shot from the second story of my infested barn. I was literally standing in a pile of black walnut husks. The reds have gotten absolutely comfortable in my neglected barn. Am looking to make repairs and to reassert without mercy. I purchased this scope mainly for ratting. Am putting it to that test when warmer nights arrive…

Adjusting for parallax error

Hi folks, parallax error is caused by the concave and convex shape of a scopes lens. All scopes have parallax error, some more than others. All can be corrected for by centering the sight picture on the lenses. To accomplish this the peripheral haze is used. Peripheral haze it the out of focus ring that can be seen by moving the eye closer to the scope. Move the eye until an even ring of blur haze surrounds the sight picture. This puts your sight picture in the center of the lens resulting in zero parallax error. Also, when mounting a scope, center the elevation adjustment, shim the scope to get close and fine tune with the adjustment. The closer the scope is to zero adjustment, the less the parallax/lens error.
I shoot 50/50 iron sights and scopes. The scope error is most critical when changing shooting positions. Centering a scope becomes an added step when shooting left handed behind ones right flank for instance. At 30m a 4x, set parallax rimfire scope can vary 3/4in in poi due sloppy parallax centering centering.
It isn't just because of rules that aperture sights rule competition shooting worldwide.
Hope this is helpful.

FX  Another M3 .22 slugger post

Ok so long story short I'm sitting on an M3 I picked up second hand. My plan is to use it to convert some powder guys at the club during the monthly rimfire matches. These matches are basically bench style knock down silhouettes at 50, 100, 150, and 200m. Most, if not everyone there, is shooting subsonic 22lr so I would love to join in with some air powered 22 slugs. I guess my question is this... What do I need to do this? Where do I start? Long slug liner, a butt load of random slug sizes, and countless hours of testing?
