Clean Shot, Clean Meat

Not much to it. We saw each other - it stopped, I kneeled and lined up my reticle for a brain shot. I shot into the left eye and as far as I can tell the projectile perforated a lower portion of the brain. It appeared to have exited behind the right eye and below the ear. It dropped where it was shot and movement ceased within a relatively short period. Shot with a .22 Prod topped with a Vector Veyron 3-12x44mm scope using Predator Polymag shorts. No visible parasites on the carcass. Heart, liver, and kidneys looked clean and healthy.

Compressor already slowing down

Purchased one of Amazon's $250 shoebox compressors and have been happy with it.

When I first purchased, it would start at 19⁰ and finish at 26⁰ and take 1min 32 seconds average to fill from 100-200bar.

Last night I aired up my rifle and heard it squeaking a bit, noticed it slowed down significantly at about 160bar and didn't get to 200bar for another 1min 44 seconds.

Overall end temp of compressor is finishing at 43⁰

×××EDIT××× This was fill number 23 for transparency

BIG DIFFERENCE!

I'll pull the shroud off of it and see what she needs. I do have 2 rebuild kits for it that came with it, so we'll see.

I'll add pics of rebuild and show you what I've found. May help someone else.

Delta Wolf - 1.5 years later...

I got a new to me .30 caliber Delta Wolf a few weeks ago. And let me tell you, OMG is it accurate!!! It LOVES the JSB 50.15 grain pellets at 880 FPS, and STACKs them at 100 yards. No BS, I was shooting on a steel plate at 100 yards Saturday and it just kept putting each pellet on top of the mark from the previous pellet. It was doing this so consistently that I kinda got bored and moved to 146 yards shooting KYL swingers!

As you may know, I've had a .25 DW for about 1 1/2 years now, and although it was accurate, it never was any better than either my .22 Red Wolf HP or my .30 FX Bobcat Mk2. Truth be told, I beat the crap out of that .25 DW, hunting, benchrest, extreme field target, and mostly speed practice. So much so that I broke both brass bushings for the cocking lever and had them replaced with stainless steel. I shot it at RMAC 2021 Speed and made the finals, but the gun broke at the 2022 RMAC Speed Challenge (first lane) - the cocking arm microswitch failed. Anyway, AoA allowed me to trade my .25 for a used .30 caliber updated version. Thanks Airguns of Arizona!!~!

Well, this .30 DW is better and more accurate than either gun. This is the first gun I've shot since I got my (EBR 2019 (S) winning) .30 Bobcat in 2017 that is measurably more accurate. The shot cycle is much smoother than the old(er) .25 DW or the Red Wolf HP or Bobcat Mk2. I can keep the crosshairs on the aim point during the shot cycle with little to no movement... And the gun makes the 86 FPE I shoot the 50.15 JSB pellets at with only 132 bar reg. pressure. Plus it gets over 50 shots per fill at that power level.

I'm so happy with this updated Delta Wolf, that I'll be shooting it at EBR to walk the walk. I also have a .22 slow twist barrel kit that shoots pellets (RDMs) as well as my .22 Red Wolf HP, so I'll be installing that to shoot the Open Class Speed Silo at EBR also (I have a 24 shot Midwest Elite Airguns magazine for the DW, works perfectly!) I'll swap barrels between events.

Anyway, if you've had reservations about the Delta Wolf or Alpha Wolf, no worries - they are now good to go, and are very highly recommended! Yes, they are expensive. But so is a Ferrari or Aston Martin, and that's what you're getting...

New youtube channel, not a reviewer, just for fun lol

Hey guys , so a year ago when I got into this hobby I really didn't think I would get so sucked in (im sure we all felt that way in the beginning?) , now a year later I have my own rabbit hole I enjoy lol.

Last saturday was my first time filming my pesting and so I started a youtube channel. Anyways I am going to upload more videos of all things airgun related that I do, not paid by anyone , videos are pretty crude right now but I enjoy the whole idea so I am hoping they get better along the way. Subscriptions would be awesome , lets me know people are enjoying what is going up.

Auto reset Silhouette Setup I made

Here is a video of a resetting silhouette target setup. all four lanes reset when I push the button at the bench. Runs on a 12v battery

Log on time now a days?

I don't know if it's me getting bored with airguns which I really don't think so at least with the ones I own or just what it is. When I open up AGN these days I only spend about 5 minutes on it and it seems like I've seen everything I need to see or that there is to see. I hit a few of my favorite topics and I'm done. Is anyone else experiencing the same or is it just me?

New HW35E in .177

I am a total rookie with these springers. So please let me know your opinions on my initial review.

I received a .177 caliber HW35E from Krale today. Amazing to receive a package from them in only 4 days, wow. But the packaging was really poor. The Weihrauch factory box was in an outer box with minimal bubble wrap protecting the inner box. The outer box had several good dents in it. I am surprised the gun got here in one piece.

Considering the damage to the box the gun only has a small but ugly dent in the forearm of the stock. I might try to steam it out. I am not sure if steaming will work on an oil finish?? The wife says it's the distressed look. People pay extra for that now days! LOL.

I removed the stock to look at the spring. Minimal grease on spring which is good I think. I added some moly to the cocking rail. It was a bit rough while cocking but the moly smoothed it out pretty well. I can see some burrs that need my attention.

The trigger is not working correctly. I tried to adjust it lighter by one turn, but the first stage then became loose like a tension spring is not working to return the blade. It just flops without tension. I put the adjustment screw back to where it was but while shooting, the trigger blade occasionally will become loose again. I have to move the blade back and forth and then the spring tension on the first stage starts working... Not sure what to do about that. Th second stage is working to fire the gun but seems heavy. Any thoughts on this?

The barrel release latch is really gritty to operate. I see the small spring that is inside the spring hole, that the latch's pin engages, is cocked sideways a bit and that seems to be causing the gritty feel. I pushed a little moly into the hole to lube the spring and it does seem to help smooth out the operation of the lever. The lever has a poor machine marks on it as well. So it may need to remove the lever and do some honing to smooth out the feel.

The rear end cap needs to be adjusted slightly. The dovetail rail is not lined up well. It is pretty noticeable and will drive me crazy until I fix it.

The gun is shooting very well so far. I only have some old Beeman Silver Sting's but pretty good groups so far with open sights.

Some spring twang but not bad and after 40 shots or so it seems to be diminishing. Compared to my HW50 the gun is pretty smooth and enjoyable to shoot. The 50 is a problem child!

Here are some pictures

Cheers
Zut

New to PCP, questions on types

Hello, I do not know much about PCP guns.
1) Do all PCP guns have some sort of control to change the power?
2) Are there any decent PCP guns for $200 or under (new or used, but must be 177)

I'm basically looking for something that would be quiet enough to use in the backyard (in city), so I need it to be lower power. For plinking and mice control.

New gun day, HW100 with very nice stock

I bought an extremely nice .177 HW100 from @Lewis here on the forum that arrived today. The rifle has a very nicely figured walnut stock. I mounted up a Hawke Frontier scope on it and turns out it shoots as good as it looks. I’ve been going back and forth on picking one of these up and am very glad that I did. If your looking for a nice sporting rifle, the HW100 should be on your list to check out.

Learning experience at work..

We have this bird at work that likes to fight himself in the mirrors of the cars/trucks at work, poo's on the sides of their vehicles (including mine) I work in a medium size machine shop. They all know I'm into BB guns (as they call them and make fun of my "BB" guns) last week they rant and raved over this pest bird... which is a cardinal by the way...my state bird... I refused to bring my BB gun to work... told them you might as well bring your rimfire shooting subs in...basically the same thing... I was told I was full of sh!t... so I invited them out to the farm this weekend... 5 show up Saturday afternoon... I gathered up my dreamline compact tuned to shoot 17.5gr slugs. RTI 177 Prophet compact shooting 13.43gr slugs. RTI 22 Prophet (wifes)shooting 18gr JSB pellets and a RTI Prophet 22 (full size) shooting 25.4gr pellets. To top it off a sam yang 45cal shooting 196gr slugs... heading to my range that has targets from 10 yards to 300 yards... and turned them loose...
It was a great afternoon of shooting and education on what a BB gun really is..
At the end of the day we all agreed to keep my rifles at home (especially the 45cal) ... and just fold the car/truck mirrors in and finally the poor young male cardinal will move on..
They had no idea of the power level of a PCP... I do have 12pfe to 20fpe rifles in various calibers but I wanted to prove a point with the 30fpe+ rifles..

Thinking of ordering from Mundilar

Been thinking about ordering an HW77 from Mundilar. AoA says they might have one in stock before Christmas, but no promises. I can order the rifle, rings, and 2000 pellets for cheaper than domestic prices. However, my concern is shipping and customs.

Anyone ordered an air rifle from Mundilar recently? How did it go?

Thanks.

Couple videos of my Rat Inauguration saturday night

**Also forgive the language, at this point when I remembered I could take video I was having an absolute blast, it was a hot night and things were going right except for my magazine jamming up constantly so I was excited.**

Both my buddy and I are going to work on our video recording (on my scope and my binos he spots with) because we missed so much

Both shots made at 45 yards

First time out with the Impact Compact .177 helping out a local farmer. First rat shot was an instant expire, the second one rolled over behind the cinder blocks. About 50% of the ones I hit rolled right over, the other 50% got that little burst of adrenaline and made it about 5-10 feet then keeled over. I am going to try and show as accurate to real life pesting content as I can when posting pesting videos, not just the "PRIMO" "BEAUTY SHOTS" . Sitting with two old friends

Some friends you can go months without seeing and hearing from - then on a whim you drop down the range table and sit with them a spell. My two Steyr’s buddies are like that, a hunting 5 SA and a Pro X 10 SA. The conversation starts simple with weather, wind and rain and choices we've made. Seems like we always address our health issues created by the stress of sitting for so long; but once all that nonsense is out of the way, we start drinking lead from a .22 tin mug. We always start with a big ol fib, a tall tail, like a monster big splatter target pasted to some corrugated board; we know we can't miss, no matter how many time we tell the story it's a good reminder of where we left off. I don’t always trust ol eyes or fingers that itch to remember where the sweet spot is in life, especially through a small window. Once we’ve established we can still see and refrain from jerking around too much, we move on to progressively demanding types of conversations like pill bottles, beer caps and match heads. At some point we pull out the playing cards just to see if we still know what an Ace looks like. At times there is awkward silence after some off target comment, like a flyer coming out of left field - WTH. In the end, when all topics have been completely hit upon and we've pushed the issues of civility farther than we should have, we begin the customary faretheewells and clean up the air gunner crumbs. Always a pleasure to give ol friends a good rubbing, especially if they can stay on topic and i remember not to go against their grain too much. Now remind me, what was it we were talking about?

With all the aftermarket "add ons" available for FX, why is it this is not a easier option to get yet?

I realized today that there is a ton of things available to the impact to make the impact more suit our shooting style. Like making the impact lighter easier to carry, less impact, and quiet for pest control, larger bottles, smaller bottles, more for bench rest, shooting paper, or another way for hunting larger game.

I would think by now, with the airgun knowledge out there it would be as easy to go online to utahairguns.com, pyramydair.com, or whatever to get a custom fitted Lothar Walther, CZ, TJ or whatever for a impact just like we can get a impact barrel in whatever caliber, length, and type of shooting we do. Right? Says me who has no clue as to what is involved in doing something like this.
