what are you all using for portable shooting bench solutions?

So I've been shooting alot of long range. 100+ yards as I want to shoot the Northeast Airgun classic next year as it only a hour from me and I have to say I'm a swell shot . But when I go out I lay prone so I can have my chrono infront of my rifle to record the data in the current weather conditions I am shooting in. But I want a bench. Something portable that will fit my rifle and chrono. The caldwell foldable benches look small. Are there other options? what u all using?

FX  Changed side lever to right side and now cannot fully cock Panthera

I bought a preowned Panthera 600 in .22, front and rear bottles. Came to me with a left-handed cheek piece and left hand charger lever. That was not good and I won't mention the name of the well-known seller. So it was easy to change the cheek piece, and I watched a bunch of videos on how to change it from right hand it to left-handed, and I thought I folded correctly but after the charging handle was reinstalled, the bolt would only move 3/8 of an inch or so to the rear and seemed like it was hitting some sort of stop. So it's unusable can somebody help me with this please?

Buddy bottle pouch system for field use

Hi 'yall,

I'm hunting upland game with an air shotgun that gets 3 shots per fill. I'll try to shoot until the chuckers and grouse vacate the area.

Question for the group: who is making the most field and back of the truck ready sleeve/armor case/padded case for a buddy bottle in the 68 to 150 ish cubic inch volume range? I would like to sling this kit over one shoulder like a possibles bag and short starter are used for muzzle loaders. A pouch to hold refillable air shot shells would be nice but not required.

I'm interested in portable, ergonomic convenience that protects my tank and keeps it at my elbow while hunting.

Suggestions?

Mike

Rx Dueling Tree 6.0

IMG_1057.jpeg

https://www.rxtargetsystems.com/shop/rxduelingtree to order here! The Rx Dueling Tree 6.0 made its debut on the national stage at The Northeast Airgun Classic featuring its simple set up and shoot design. It is offered in two options currently permitting 22 through 30 caliber Airguns. The design has been enhanced over the original model reducing paddle blowback and allowing for 6 paddles on the tree instead of 4. If you are interested in having these on your tournament field or club event, contact me, Dave Bitkowski, as soon as possible. A big thank you to Northeast Airguns Classic for choosing Rx Target Systems to be part of the speed round.

First gen marauder bolt issue possible fix.

Alright I think I found the source of my bolt binding during use. It was unreasonably difficult to cock, sometimes it would even fail to pull the hammer all the way back to its “catch point” ’m not certain if this is the correct factory bolt but the Allen head that “catches” the hammer had a knurled head. I looked at how the assembly works and realized the knurling on the bolt was digging into the aluminum track it rides on. It would bind worse the further back it went from side play I suppose.

A short ride for the bolt in a cordless drill with a flat file to dress it up and it’s smooth and no more binding.

Either the choice of bolt used was incorrect from the factory or someone replaced it along the way with the wrong kind are my best guesses.

Hope this helps someone in the future. I’d polish the internals, but it’s getting a side lever soon so the kids can shoot it off the bench more easily.

Other  Another...NOT a GK1 thread

Got myself a new Zoraki Ultra (.22) yesterday.

Interesting gun. I normally don't care for the "Star Wars" looking plastic guns, but I've been curious about it so...

Interesting looking. Had to remove the grips, palm rest to make room for my hand. It came to me in its lowest position, still not enough room for it to feel even close to being comfortable.
I oiled everything. Did a "little" bit of trigger adjustment after firing a few shots. It really didn't need much, After the trigger hit's the "wall", it's a much more...crisp let-off than I figured it would be. Only thing is the trigger and its other parts are "tight" in the frame. Maybe after about 1000 rounds, it might loosen a bit !
I put a very small Burris 3, red dot sight (yes, a reflex sight) on it. The sight's been sitting on the shelf for years, so I thought I'd give it another try. Actually had to modify the adapter Picatinny/Weaver mount to fit the shape of the top rail of the gun.
Even though it's a $290 gun, (not a $50 P17) it's still more accurate, easy to shoot than I figured it might be. Actually surprising how easy and accurate it's shooting...off-hand (as I do all of my guns), especially in my old hands.
From across the living room, it looks a bit like the Beeman, P3 / P17. I sorta put it in the same class before I bought the one that I have. But even though it's a plastic gun, (NOT...ballistic plastic as some think), and similar in looks, it's quite a different gun.
So far, have only used the "two" pump speed. No need for anything higher, in my case. Shooting only about 10 yrds. at little dots. As I said earlier, it's very easy to shoot accurately.

So far...glad I bought it.

Zulus LRF vs non

I'm kicking around getting one of these as everyone seems to love them. Previous day/night scopes always have seemed mixed reviews but this one is different. I can definitely see me using this on the dairy as we do have some rats and we get mice at our house. I also think I can find roosting birds at night. Anyways is the LRF worth it for someone who doesn't really use a rangefinder all that much for normal shooting? Most my shooting is either from memory or just simply doing it long enough I have a pretty good guess on the distance. $240 difference is pretty big IMO but I can see why some use it. What do you owners of these think?

RAW Rapid  Tethering the RAW HM1000x, but at what pressure?

Does it matter what pressure I set the tethered pressure at on my RAW HM1000x? I am guessing the bottle reg is set to 140-150 bar on my .25 cal so can I set any pressure above that or will there be a tuning difference with different pressures? The way I am looking at it is the tethered tank is basically just extending the tank on the rifle so as long as the pressure is above the reg pressure on the rifle there should be no difference.

Umarex  Nitrogen Powered PCP Rifle (Video Review) Umarex Komplete NCR Nitro

Hey guys. This is a brand new PCP air rifle from Umarex. It's under $200! It uses 3600 PSI canisters of compressed Nitrogen, which is not susceptible to temperature changes like Co2. This Umarex Komplete NCR is also regulated. It provided around 50 full power 1000 FPS shots! (900 fps in .22). Great little gun. Just don't pick it up by the foregrip! Thanks for watching! -Nate

Just ordered a Marauder in .22

Just order a Benjamin Marauder in .22 with the upgraded barrel, 10 for 10 and a cheap hand pump.

In my search for a decent pellet rifle I actually bought and still have a Hatsan break barrel but I never liked it and will soon be selling it.
I've seriously considered a pump built into the rifle type of set up but decided against it.
From there I was seriously considering a Chinese made pcp.
At the last second I changed to a Benjamin Marauder in 22 caliber. I added the Lothar barrel.
Although I have a compressor (I haven't set it up yet) I ordered a cheap hand pump for now.
Not a fan of the UPS shipping from PA but it is what it is. They don't like to come down my road and apparently there is nothing that can be done about it.
So once it gets here, I'm looking to go over the rifle and give it a cleaning.

Tuning  Velocity Anomalies

Trying to perfect a tune.
I've been pesting every week heavily and accuracy is outstanding. I've said it in other posts and I'll say it again for the sake of relevance to post.

Shooting a Dreamline Tac 25/600 w 290cc Tube. I'm currently set at 108bar on the reg, 17 on the wheel, about 1.75 turns on the HST internal screw. Getting 857-863 with an EXTREME spread of 12. But mainly between 855-862. I notice when I rechrono to confirm same tune my first shot Will be slightly low (847-850) then back to.the sweet spot for the rest of the mag. Then I'll get a few 837-841-829- then back to 860 for a few. I know if velocity drops after first shots it's too little HST but.. its so consistent and always goes back to the sweet spot. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm getting Altoids/Dimes at 50- quarters at 100. I'm using the same exact pellets... I'm an over perfectionist and hand weigh the pellets to the .001, inspect all skirts, and place the best 100 out of every can skirt down in empty FX Hybrid Slug blocks to protect them. It's not weight variance or gas bypass from deformed pellets.

Other  Quiet, pcp, semi auto bday gift for my son?

I’m new here and I’m lost in this pcp world of guns and would really appreciate your help. I need a gun for my son’s bday with the following characteristics.

- pcp
- semi auto
- less than 7 lbs
- must be quiet for backyard shooting
- my son is small, so a smaller gun would be better but it doesn’t have to be a pistol
- reliable
- I was hoping for a $500 budget but it may have to be $800?

I ordered the hatsan sortie but I cancelled bc I was afraid it would be too loud. We have a Benjamin marauder and we love it but it’s not a semi auto and it’s really heavy. He’d like something he could walk around with and shoot. And if you have an idea but it’s too expensive, let me know anyway. I may have to increase my budget. I’d really appreciate your advice! My son thinks the sortie is on the way and I haven’t told him I cancelled it yet! I need to find something. Anything I can do to help keep my kids outside and off screens is greatly appreciated.

LPVO for a PCP - good focus under 30yds? 10yds?

I have a PCP for pesting (think 30 yds, at most) and want to get more accurate than a red-dot allows. So I am shopping LPVO type scopes.

Pretty flexible on things like FFP/SFP (finding 90% of them to be SFP, parallax at 100yds), reticle (doesn't matter much to me)

Primary concern is close-focus ability, since this will be for a <30yds application. I realize that zeroing will dial things in, but don't want to make a purchase mistake if I can avoid it.

Are there any tips/recommendations, if I want good focus at close range? As in, no blurry image at 10yds or so.
