PCP Rifle  SOLD AEA HP SS .22 - $275 shipped

No leaks and no mods unless mentioned in the post.

The semiauto action was not reliable and I converted it to bolt action.
In semiauto it would have issues with cycling the magazine or double feeding.

It comes with:
-2 good magazines
-1 bad magazine (tape on top)
-1 fill probe and o'rings for it
-shroud rod and spring used in semiauto action
-original box and manual

I will also include a bag of 4-5 new springs the same dimensions as the shroud spring.
I wanted to use the springs to get the semiauto working but did not have the time.

N/A  Smart people, please jump in!

Since last night I have the following discussion in my mind.

My Vulcan 3 700 mm .25 Cal shoots like a champ the NSA 29 grain. I have confirmed extreme accuracy at 330 yards.

I have seen that NSA also have 36.2 grain slugs.

If this rifle shoots at 76 fpe, those 76 fpe are better in field conditions with 29 grain slugs or with 36.2 grain slugs?

To deal with wind, theoretically 36.2 grain should be better than 29 grain, but 29 grain should fly faster, so less time under wind influence.

29 grain should have a faster decrease in power than 36.2 grain...

I will appreciate your informed opinion.

Airgun Technologies  Vulcan 3 burrs near the crown

Hi all,

I have Vulcan 3 since March but I shot it only couple of times testing various pellets and slugs with mixed results, mostly bad.
Since I've put through it probably 10 or more different pellets and slugs from few different manufacturers, I thought it could benefit from a good barrel cleaning.

Unfortunately I've noticed burrs some 1/2" from the crown, probably tool marks when they made the crown.

Most of those I'll probably be able to polish out. I have VFG bore cleaning compound and it's quite a good stuff.
But, two are a bit bigger and those will not polish out with any paste,

What could I use to get out those bigger burrs?
They are not something unspeakable off but non the less, they are burrs which catch on pallets/slugs just before they exit the barrel and I believe that removing those would significantly improve on groups.

I live in SE Europe si I don't really have access to all the fancy tools and machinery and all pastes and compounds available to everyone else in the western world.

It's 700mm .22 cal, polygonal CZ barrel

Primer on slugs?

Been reading a bit here but longtime Powder burner And reloaded. Still learning the pcp game.

I was surprised when I recently joined not to see a primer or sticky on the use of slugs in pcp rifles. I have searched a bit already but welcome more info.

Are they more accurate than traditional pellets?
What/how much interference is needed in these air gun barrels (od of the slug vs Id of barrel)? Is this more trial and error testing?
Do they retain higher b.c. Down range compared to. Traditional pellet?
what about barrel cleaning? More often needed with slugs?

Thanks for any info. I’ll be running the notos soon.

PCP Rifle  SOLD WTS- P15 bullpup (price drop!!)

.22 cal P15 bullpup. Was slinging cphp 14.3s around 900fps very accurately when I bought this from another member.
Since then I’ve discovered it also likes H&N 21 grain slugs .218 size @ about 830 fps which is how it’s currently set to shoot.
Has air-fective shroud on it.
Super lite and super quiet!
This is by far the quietest air rifle I’ve ever been around!
The projectile flying through the air is louder than the shot cycle…
Comes with 3 CARM mags and 1 oem mag, also a CARM single shot tray.
I’ve had my fun with it. Time to try something different.
Asking $340 obo shipped inside the conus.

RTI  Mora .357 issues

I recently received an RTI Mora .357 sniper that I had ordered. First impressions, it’s a beautiful gun, feels great in the hands, very light and smooth cocking and great trigger, also very quiet. Out of the box from Talon Tunes it was shooting 100gr zan slugs at around 215 fpe.

Issues I am having: pellets and slugs are clipping inside of the air stripper in the shroud, throwing accuracy way off. I have tried 3 different weighted Zan slugs, 2 different weights of NSA slugs, some home cast slugs and JSB pellets. I opened up the air stripper a little which helped accuracy without the provided hush 50 silencer attached, but now clips with the silencer attached. I’ve spent some time shooting without the silencer. When I go to air up the gun and then return to shooting, the point of impact changes and I have to zero it again, this happens everytime. During one of my shooting sessions, the shroud base that clamps to the barrel blew back and I got blasted with air. Now the trigger is slowly moving further and further back into the handle. Currently have about 400 rounds shot through it. The gun did not come with the cheek rest or a user manual which I have read others complain about as well. Not exactly what I expected from a gun in this price range, but they are a new release and I guess there will be bugs to work out. Currently working with Talon Tunes to see what we do from here.

Just wanted to share my findings and see what others might be experiencing.

What’s your excuse?

I truly enjoy the sport of FT. The camaraderie trumps a well shot match every time for me. I enjoy listening to the stories of the participants and the shots they made and well, didn’t after the match.
(Yes, it’s a sport. Calling it a “game” belittles the amount of time, effort and MONEY folks invest participating in the SPORT.)
But I digress…
Today after our match, the subject of excuses heard from match mates for not knocking down targets was brought up. Some, shall we say, got an eyebrow raise and a sometimes a chuckle. I’ve used all I heard and put a couple in my pocket to use at a future match. We passed around some we’ve heard over the years, and I thought it would be fun to share the ones you have heard. You do not have to explain the “excuse” unless it’s necessary to understand it, just what you’ve heard. If the “excuse” has already been posted, just simply “like” the OP. No need to disclose the claimant. I’m not looking to embarrass anyone.

HW/Weihrauch  Acquired a HW30 Delux last week ... Fresh ARH seal, Piston sleeve & fitted guide .. WHOA SMOOTH !!!

I know as a tuner I've been here before, tho been Years since doing an R7 / HW30 and this time around it was personal !! ... Lol

Tearing it apart did a ball hone job on inner tube surfaces placing a nice cross hatch on compression bore & also deburring the cocking slot & holes that the seal must pass over when fitting said seal and final assembly. Cleaned it up and fitted a new ARH seal for nice light fit ( These low power guns need a loose fit to have any chance at OEM power output )
Polished tail of piston and checked latch rod run out in the lathe which did need a tad of straightening out. Next up using 3/4" ACETAL rod made up a spring guide that was a light slip fit to the OEM spring & then opened up washer a tad to fit this now obviously larger diameter spring guide. Made a thin Top lat for piston end of spring. The spring ends gets dress flatter on the belt sander with a small bevel at coils end so it does not dig in while rotating.

Inside the piston ( Spring bore ) gets a thick plastic water bottle liner cut to butt ends and flush out just shy of end once seated having butt gap 180* from cocking slot. The plastic liner on outside gets scratched up heavily with 80 grit and then we'll call glued in with heavy tar which will hold it in place. Tar is ONLY between liner and inner wall of piston !!!! As a lighter spring grease will be used ultimately.

Out on the Yoke end of main tube a little bit of stoning of surface where the thin thrust washers reside ( Factory surface on this one was ROUGH )
Using a flat stone & WD-40 just kissing the high spots around washer placement will smooth up the cocking further.
The cocking linkages lower surface that contacts tube was also stoned flat & polished up with 600 wet.dry. The tube forward of cocking slot deburred and also smoothed up.
The slot itself cleaned up and the sides of the slot stoned and 600 smoothed up full length.

At this juncture we get out the lubes and get the primary action reassembled. Barrel pivot and washers, lower cocking linkage get heavy moly grease, Piston bore and behind seal my proprietary moly/graphite/oil blend, as well within tube at piston skirt to bore. Lucas Red-N-Sticky on spring & guide. Gets assembled setting it aside for the moment.

Trigger next .... No need to disassemble as these Rekord units really just need correct adjusting of the Intermediate link screw ( Torx head No touch it screw ) spring preload screw behind trigger blade & bending of the tab stop forward of blade. All done we have a short 1st stage, No creep & VERY crisp break with light tension on trigger blade .. Perfection !
Reinstall the trigger block after placing some moly grease on sear, and other catch /release linkages with white grease on safety plunger & spring ( grease on spring stops the Twang of releasing safety and some noise upon firing )

We're done and get action back into stock with loc-tite on screws.
Cock & release moving piston up & down bore @ 10 times or so to distribute lube from piston to the comp chamber walls. Next cocking is live fire with a jsb 8.4 ... THUMP hardly having action move and making ZERO mechanical noise from spring, piston, linkages etc ... just a sublime light bump & thump being just what we wanted. :D

For those reading along ... yes some very detailed info shared as my days doing spring gun tuning for hire is or has wound down after 10+ years of commercial service work.
If you understand what said ? ..... Apply it to your next home grown springer tune ... you'll like it ;)(y)

Low dollar super fun!

I just can’t express it well enough, however I’m super excited about just how great a $150. Pcp pistol can be enjoyed! I have 2 each of the Beeman 2027 and 2028 and two will be Buck Railed into carbines. If you are interested in a fun gun try one of these! Don’t think you will be disappointed! Charles

N/A  Pawn Shop Find - $15

Picked up this “Revelation” model, made by Crosman for Western Auto Supply Co. It’s a rebranded Crosman 760. First three numbers are 576, so I think it’s a 1976. I didn’t take an initial picture but it was very rough. Non functional. Rusty, nasty looking wood. A $15 special. It’s a smooth bore. I decided to embrace its rustic character. I had this old Williams scope lying around forever. Still waiting on a pump cup, so the picture is a mock with no internals. I’m still trying to decide which receiver finish I like the best. The first one is just polished. The middle one is distressed. The bottom one is fully colored. Opinions welcome.
