RAW Rapid  HM1000x .177 100 yd BR match

Shot another 100 yard EBR style match yesterday in the whirlywinds of Sparta Wisconsin with 10 of my other shooting friends. I used my RAW HM1000x rifle in .177 caliber prepared by the man, Martin Rutterford of Airguns-USA. At last months match, the winds were fairly calm and variable, but I really wanted to see if this gun could compete with all the other Impacts, Crowns, Red Pandas, and BRKs mostly in 30 caliber. The weather was more typical: 78 degrees, 5-18 MPH gusty winds which seemed to change direction every 25 yards. I shot 3 relays and qualified for the finals. My scores were 175, 179, and 193, but the other folks were just the same. There were no 220 -230 scores like last month. The point of all this is that caliber doesn't seem to be so important because all of these rifles were capable of being competitive regardless of caliber. I had to leave a little early due to family obligations, but I think the winner used a Crown M2 in 22 caliber with a score of 190 in the final round using pellets, no less. I won't say who it was, but he always drags this gun out at the last minute and wins with it.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Taipan Veteran 2 Standard 22 - mint

Latest Taipan .22 Veteran 2 in mint condition. Appearance and function as close to new as possible.

I added the underside Picatinny rail and it has the Arca adapter connected to it.

At the breech, there is a rubber pad I added so my face did not touch the metal. This can be easily removed.

This includes the Taipan (latest model) with the moderator (see photos), filling probe, 2 magazines and some O rings that came with it. The scope is not included. I do not have the original box, but can assure you it will be very well packed.

I purchased it (as seen in the photo) from Tony at Talon Tunes — 5 months ago in March 2024, and used it occasionally. Decided to sell as I moved to a Daystate air rifle.

It is highly accurate and you will not find one in better condition.

This air rifle is listed at $1425 by the dealer without the picatinny rail and arca adapter.

My loss is your gain. $1000 with shipping CONUS.

Traditional Rifle  NLA Air Arms TX200HC Laminate

Excellent condition, 0.177 caliber, 12fpe TX200HC with the factory adjustable laminate stock. I purchased brand new and shot it a literal handful of times before putting it in the safe. Just not getting used and it deserves to.

Very, very light handling marks if you squint your eyes in just the right light - pretty typical of the high gloss bluing used by AA. Looks essentially new.

Asking $1150 shipped in the CONUS. Prefer paypal friends and family or add 4% to cover fees.

You can reach me here or email tobinwebster at yahoo dot com.

Thanks!

Huben  Huben GK1 is (NOT) a good pistol

Probably the stupidest review on that thing out there... I would like to puntualize, the GK1 is definitivelly not a good pistol by any means, but it is a good AIR pistol.

Also, my Red Ribbon army mod is finished, the difference between my perfected one is that I changed the silencer system to a direct to barrel treading + discard completelly the barrel to slide compressing system. Now it has a floating barrel and I already see improvement on accuracy.

FX  FX DRS question

So I'm interested in the FX DRS in .22, maybe .25, with a 600mm barrel. I reached out to a seller and asked if the heavy barrel was available in 600mm for this gun. The answer was yes, but it wouldn't shoot pellets well. This left me a bit confused. The 700mm version, which has the heavy barrel, seems to shoot both quite well, with minimal POI shift. And the slugs and pellets are about the same weight.
So I reached out for more info because something didn't add up for me and was told that the 700mm barrel allows you to turn the reg down, because you need more pressure to shoot the same in a 600mm barrel.
So now I'm super confused. What am I missing in this equation? I can't see 100mm making that much of a difference, all things being equal. Can someone explain what I'm missing?

Results  N50 Results 8/10/24 Open Grove - Score-Line info

1st, we have been working really hard to get the new N50 Scoring System up and running - it is not part of the N50 website for now. Software has been constantly improving on many levels. We are so close to releasing. I was able to create todays Open Grove matches remote (I'm working software validation from home) and its working really well. Competitors scores are summed, tabulated, racked & stacked instantaneously within wifi range.

2nd, this effort has caused a lag in the agg-line updates. I couldn't do both scoring tabulations at the same time, so the old agg-line had to take a back seat.

When the Scoring System is super stable we will merge it into the N50 website.

I'll let Joe filled in todays range details

Compressors  SOLD 4500 psi PCP compressor (tuxing)

Got a nice 4500 psi compressor that I'm selling. Has been used to top up my guns that I hardly shoot. It pumps great and pretty quick. The only flaw is the digital temperature gauge went out. It's a $8 part on Amazon or u can use it without it, by running it for 5-6 mins and letting it cool for 5-6 mins. Comes with a moisture filter and the filters for it. And the Car battery connection cable. Works great. $80 obo Paypal F&F shipping on me.

RAW Rapid  Continue To Be Impressed

My Rapid Air Worx Theoben .25 caliber rifle continues to impress me. Just for grins I filled it to 225 BAR and shot it down to 103 BAR and maintained most 5 shot groups at 1 MOA or better, ES of 5 fps and STD of 1.3 after a 48 shot count! All were FX 34 grain .25 caliber. So I know the gun can do it - now the rest is up to me! Still working on reading wind, cross wind, variable wind, quartering wind, etc, etc, etc. Still so much to learn and experience. Thanks so much for the members on this forum that continue to help, educate and above all, be patient with old guys like me. :ROFLMAO: (well, not THAT old!) By the way, this was only a 30 yard test.

EDgun  Leshiy 2 wont fire, Help!

My Leshiy stopped firing, just makes a slight hiss. The valve stem is aligned in the center of the opening so the trigger blade doesn't engage it. I have replaced the ball and the part the ball seats into. It still lines up a little right of center instead of the left side of the oval opening. The stem is not bent, I don't know what else to check. Edgun west wants 300 bucks to look at it, I ain't paying that! Any suggestions from the experts here?

Hatsan  Hatsan Fever

I finally got my Hatsan 95 back from repair. I sent it ten days ago. The rifle has about 25-30k shots through it total. It's had 2 replacement triggers, 2 springs and two seals. It will be one year old next week.

It's my 6th Hatsan 95. I have a couple more newer ones and a few broken ones in the closet

20240810_104514.jpg

When I sent it off I decided to refinish the stock. It's a Mod. 65 thumbhole. I have had 3 different Mod 95 actions it it. It's seen around 100k shots. I stripped off the lacquer and gave it an old fashioned linseed oil and shoe polish finish.

It's pretty plain wood with lots of tool marks burned into it. I just rounded up the corners and took some material off around the trigger guard. Sanded out all the bumps and dings. It's smooth as glass and feels like skin to the touch. Not too much to look at as far as grain and patina goes.

When the rifle came back yesterday the safety didn't work right. The trigger was almost impossible to pull. It shot well considering you needed vice grips to shoot it.

I opened it up and found a missing clip on the safety cam. And some hard plastic debris in the trigger housing. It didn't take long to fix it.

I notified Hatsan about it. No big deal for me but definitely a frustration. They have never failed me before with many repairs so I'm not worrying about it too much. The gun probably worked fine when they tried it.

The trigger now breaks crisp and easily. Just like it has for thousands of shots. The stock feels like you are holding a woman's leg. It's shooting crosmans at 720 fps @4000 feet altitude. It will shoot a 3/4" hole at 25 yards with a flyer once in a while.

It's not fancy or expensive. Its a bit rough. And it won't shoot tiny dots. But it's a superb offhand gun that just won't quit even after shooting hundreds of shots a day, every day for a year.

Lead Removal

A friend of mine gave me a spray can of "Sprayon" THE PROTECTOR ALL-POURPOSE LUBRICANT, PRODUCT NO. LU711. He claims that this is the best lead remover that he has ever seen (cast bullet firearms). I'm wonder if this is OK to use in air rifles with the "O" rings? Here is the list of ingredients as best as I can make them out. Mineral Spirits (64742-88-7), Heavy Paraffinic Oil (64742-52-5), 2-Butoxyethanol (111-76-2), Glyceryl Oleate (25496-72-4), Carbon Dioxide (124-38-9), Naphthenic OIL64741-97-5).

I am not familiar with this product and the chemicals that make it up. It might be the best ever for removing lead or it might eat "O" rings faster that you can replace them. If anybody has any idea, I would like to hear about it!

What Prevented you from Shooting Today?

I know that a lot of you shoot daily. We look forward to pesting or blasting holes in targets or game.
We have high hope just before we set out to our locations, bringing all the gear we think might be nescessary for the day
But somedays, it just wasn't meant to happen.

I had packed up my car with my benchrest gear and 2 rifles and a tank to head off to the range for a full day of practice
I have recently purchased a new front rest which i am still getting used to, and changed the rear bag set-up
I get to the range and i have it to myself...i am thinking this is GREAT!
I unpack the front rest and get it set...move the rear bags to line-up with the front.
I used a piece of timber as a block for my rear rest that has a neoprene bottom to prevent slipping that i just made.
The night before, i had throughly cleaned-polished-waxed the barrel, so i was anxious to see the results.
Empty range-new gear-fresh polished barrel...i am thinking this is a Wonderful day!

My first couple of shots was to groove out the wax with the pellets, so it took about 10 shots..a bit scattered, but not bad
After the 10 shots, the barrel was seasoned and performing! 11 and 12 were bullseyes on the 10 ring
Happy as a Clam!!
I noticed that i was getting low on air, so i grabbed my tank...turned the knob and got a blast of air in my face...puzzling
i checked and 2x checked to be sure all the lines were attached .. turned the knob again ..blast in the face
After removing the lines, i found that the foster fitting looked like this ... don't know when that happened
IMG_0256.jpeg

All I knew was that was the end of my session…12 shots and had to pack it up
never thought to keep an extra fitting in my kit, but I will now

Any other tales of Woe anyone would like to share?
Mike
