Skout  Skout Epoch Owners question.

I know there is an issue with the poly o-rings and keeping air in the rifle for prolonged periods. It's not really an issue taking the extreme accuracy into account. If this wasn't the case it would, in my mind, be more of an issue.
But I was curious if anyone had changed out the o-ring with 90 duro HNBR's to see if that helped?
HNBR 90 duro are pretty close to poly in durability but like to keep their shape better.
I'm not sure I even want to try as I do dump my air after use but it would be nice to keep it charged like every other airgun I've ever owned.

Brocock/BRK  Best PCP You've Ever Owned?

I know it takes in a lot of ground, but what rifle would you hate to be without?

For me, it's a 22 cal Brocock Bantam Sniper HR. Yep, old school bolt action.

It is the most reliable rifle, never a flyer, no poi shift. Always totally reliable. Very comfy to hold and shoot. Accuracy, even at 100 yds is fantastic. I just picked it up after not shooting it for a month or so and shot it 30 meters at a printed cross air target. The first shot hit perfectly centered on the cross and 4 more went right on top of that, for just over a 1/4" group. I have an SWFA Sniper 12X scope on it that is as reliable as the gun. What a package. I also added a fde stock from AOA and some fde rings and a custom BRCK bottle decal to jazz it up some. I don't know if this barrel is special but it sure is amazing.

Here's a Pic and a typical 5 shot 30m group.

So, let's hear from you guys. What's your favorite pcp?

Optics  SOLD Arken Zulus 5-20 LRF – mint condition

Arken Zulus 5-20 LRF – mint condition

Just purchased from another member who never used it last week. He owned 2 units.

I downloaded the latest DNT firmware, created a ballistic profile and uploaded it successfully from the DNT app to the Zulus.

The rangefinder works, the holdover is correct and the night vision is impressive.

However I personally cannot seem to adjust to the digital screen as I’m accustomed to an optical scope.

The Zulus looks and functions as virtually new, comes with all of the regularly-included items (2 batteries, eyecup, lens cover, mount, external charger, and cable.) It has only been mounted once.

My loss is your gain.

$500 net to me including shipping CONUS.

N/A  $250 pcp

I'd like to hear from those who own one of the $250 and under pcp rifles. I'm thinking specifically about: (.177)

Gamo Arrow
Diana Stormrider (gen-2)
Beeman Chief 2
Hatsan AT44
Plus any I missed

I'm looking for: at least good accuracy (not expecting great), ease of resealing as they all leak eventually, parts availability if needed and decent shot count.

If Gamo would make the Urban in 177 I wouldn't be posting this thread.....I'd happily fork over the extra $50 as I've loved my Urban 22.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Airgun Technologies  Solved !!! I need help. It is impossible for me to know pressure of Uragan .22 Cal regulator.

Yesterday I changed internal o'rings of my Uragan .22 Cal.

Once I took off the regulator from the rifle I measured total length. After changing the two internal o'rings I remeasured that total length again, but the power I am getting on the rifle is miserable.

I do not know what happened.

I have disassembled and assembled the rifle many times playing with the total length of regulator, from almost closed to totally open and back to original length....

Not having a regulator gauge is like driving in a high road with eyes closed.

I do love AGT rifles but not having a gauge showing the pressure on regulator is clearly a big mistake. Also to have to disassemble entirely the rifle to move pressure on regulator.

I Almost spent the whole night working with the Uragan.

This morning I appreciate like never before my Delta Wolf !!!!!!!

Preventing a Moderator From Sticking To Moderator Adaptor

Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent a moderator from binding to the adapter? This is an issue for me with some Donny FL endcaps. When I go to unscrew them, sometimes it comes off with the adapter. It doesn't feel like I'm wrenching down on them when I affix the moderators and the adapters are hand tightened. I currently have one that is very difficult to separate from a knurled adapter by hand, but both come off the gun together.

Air Tanks  SOLD Scott 30 min. (44 cu ft) tank with new Fill assembly

This Scott tank shows minimal use ; manufacture date 07 / 06 , re-certification on 07 / 17. Past it's 15 year service life for use as breathing apparatus , but perfect for air gun use.
As the pictures show , this tank is in perfect condition and now has a 300 DIN valve with male foster fitting and a 20" hose with female foster's at both ends. Due to it's age , no business will fill it. You must have your own compressor or access to one. The buyer must assume responsibility and risks associated with high pressure air. I am selling this tank for $165 , shipped with tracking to the conus only. It's a great tank and a great price . To comply with DOT regulations , the tank will be shipped empty. Not interested in trades or offers at this time. Please deal by pm. Thanks for looking........................Herb

AEA  opinions on aea guns

so in the future i would like to get something compact with a lot of power. something from 35-45 cal. a few options i thought of were the bintac m50, bintac t9, or aea hp max with the 10 inch barrel. if anyone has any other suggestions im open to hearing them. like i said trying to keep a compact package but powerful. chose aea and bintac because i am hoping to keep the price up to 1k at most. and if anyone has experience with any of the aforementioned guns please feel free to provide your experiences with them. thanks guys!

Benjamin  Some Prod (and 1701P) ❤️❤️❤️

Lots of high end AGs lurking around but sometimes it’s nice to do some work on one of the old faithful. In this case, a P-rod that has been out on loan for a few months, working on some rats with a neighbor. Time for a refresh, squeezing out a bit more accuracy, efficiency and noise reduction, the latter of which was attacked from the action end as much as the muzzle.

This little pellet shooter has already come a long long way from stock with a reg, lightweight hammer, .42 spring, PEEK striker, porting and a pretty dress. For the latest revision, added a PEEK poppet with a 2mm diameter stem, increased porting to .140, shimmed the stock Crosman barrel to fit more snugly in the breech, polished the crown and added a combination shroud/moderator (which won’t be discussed here in keeping with forum rules).

The reg was bumped up to 120bar, with the goal of getting 24 shots from a 220bar fill, shooting the 15.9grain Hades. Knowing the way this lady sings from all the previous work, I figured that the setting should net a peak speed of ~750 fps, which would be dialed back to 725, around 18fpe.

That turned out to be very close with peak speed of 745 fps. The hammer was then dialed back to get the speed settled at 725fps. I then added a 2mm PEEK shim to increase tension on the valve spring, dropping the speed to 720fps. That added a noticeable snap and gave a very nice string from 3100psi (scuba tank really needs a refill…):

722, 718, 718, 724, 721, 716, 720, 722, 717, 720, 721, 719, 722, 720, 716, 722, 719, 719, 720, 718, 719, 717, 712, 693

Just dropping off the reg on shot #23, but should be good with a 3200psi fill. Kind of an arbitrary goal of getting 3 x 8-shot mags. Silly, considering that I just ordered two new 10-shot mags. The originals seem to have gotten a little gritty.

Anyway, as those in the know will know, the PEEK poppet is a real winner here, dropping the requirement for hammer and yielding a really snappy and quiet shot cycle. The shimming of the barrel into the breech seems to have tightened up the poi in the horizontal plane.

Here she is, sporting the Optisan 6, sat on her favorite rice bag. I’m expecting big things from this little gun in the accuracy testing tomorrow.

Two more for the pot

Hit the local WMA this afternoon right at 4:00, on a dual purpose, looking for a pellet pouch I lost, and also looking to pop another tree rat or two.

Decided to set up ambush style near the little run off pond, hoping for a repeat performance of last Saturday's hunt.

I was positioned at the base of one of the hardwoods on the far left, and after less than ten minutes, spied a bushytail hop up on the deadfall cedar in the far right of the pic (pic taken last Saturday) - he was running back and forth, and then decided to have a drink, giving me a clear shot.

20241009_172049.jpg

Collected my soggy kill, and moved on up the hill.

Probably made too much racket, as it took another 45 minutes or so before a shaking limb got my attention, but it was worth it. The tree rats were concentrating on a small oak, so I did my best to quietly maneuver close enough, and it was almost comical - there must have been at least 5 or 4 in the same small oak, but they would grab a nut, then come down the trunk, with me trying to track them in my scope, then hop on the ground and haul ass.

FINALLY - one took a different escape route and gave me a clear broadside shot -

Didn't find my pellet pouch, maybe next time?

Texas Hold ‘Em

The grays wanted to play a game of Texas Hold ‘Em this evening:

The House vs. the Huben. Four of a kind.

As you can see, the house lost a few members.

IMG_6746.jpeg

Two were brain shot, on was neck shot, and the other was double lunged. Pictured below was the final squirrel I shot today. There was a pursuit in which I abandoned my Primos Trigger Stick bipod and the kill shot was a quick acquisition shot. I only took one shot at her, at relatively close range - say 15 yards give or take. This photo isn’t staged. Actually I’m unsure if I’d rotated her for this photo or another one, both taken in the same spot, she was just moved in one of them. After reviewing the photos again, this one was taken first so that may be how she fell. The position she’s in is odd to me, but you can tell it was lights out. That is exactly where she fell. She hardly even twitched after hitting the ground.

Speed shooting bottle caps, chalk, cards, airsoft BB,etc

If you guys want to have some fun, shoot bottle caps, cards, chalk, airsoft BBs, etc…

Practice a lot, maintain a good rifle hold and develop your muscle memory.

Speed shooting is one of my ways for practicing but lately my carpal tunnel syndrome has worsened so I’m stuck to benchrest shooting WRABF/ERABSF BR25 and BR50 meters.

I tried some bottle caps yesterday and I’m not that fast as I used to…

Some pre-Halloween fun shooting at “jack o’lantern” bottle caps at 50 yards 🎃🎃🎃

N/A  I think I've reached a tipping point...

At 78 I am starting to reach a point where spring piston rifle are not going to work for me much longer. The HW97k is only a five shot rifle before I really struggle to cock it and I can feel the pain in my shoulder and elbow on the first cock. Even my little R7 starts hurting my shoulder and elbow after only 25 shots. I've decided to get rid of the HW97k but the R7 will stay as the grandson loves it. I also have an AirForce TalonSS but the ergonomics puts to much strain on my old neck so it must go. Guess I will be looking for another PCP.
