Airgun Technologies  Uragan 3 compact .22 - adjustment

Hello everyone
Is it possible to get a faster closing of the valve during the shot by adjusting the U3?
The screw from the valve seat allows for adjustment? Is it just screwed in or not?
I wonder if the only way to shorten the shooting cycle and reduce the dose of ejected air is to use a weaker spring...
The original spring, regardless of the regulator pressure, always gives me too high doses of air that are wasted.

Gamo  Gamo Arrow review (my first pcp)

Hey everyone! First post here (I usually just lurk).

I've been wanting to pick up a backyard-friendly PCP for a while. I’m in a suburban neighborhood, so my max shooting distance is about 25 yards. I was going back and forth between the Stormrider and the Arrow. The Arrow ended up winning just because of the price—$179, plus I had a $10 off coupon. The rep I talked to also recommended the Arrow over the Stormrider, so it checked all the boxes I was looking for to get started in the hobby.

03/25 – Ordered the Gamo Arrow in .177. I added the $10 “check it before shipping” thing just to avoid getting a dud.
03/31 – It showed up.

First impressions:
It felt solid, fit me really well, and was super easy to pump using a hand pump I got from amazon. Took about 60 pumps to go from the low green zone up to around 3200 psi.

The thing shot great. Really quiet too, my phone showed 88 dB for the Arrow compared to 98 dB from a Daisy 880. I got tight groups with Crosman, H&N, and JSB pellets. Even Daisy pellets weren’t terrible, so it didn’t seem super picky at least for 20ish yards

My 8-year-old could handle it just fine. We spent a couple afternoons in the backyard plinking together, and it was nice not having to pump after every shot.

04/15 – By now I had put maybe 500–600 shots through it. I got a second mag and started shooting like normal. First 4 shots were fine. On the 5th shot, it suddenly got much louder, had a harsh recoil (for a PCP), and pellets were flying about 8 inches low. Finished the mag and figured something was off.

Reached out to the place I bought it from, they said it sounded like a blown seal. They offered a return or exchange, and I chose the return. Didn’t want to open it up and risk messing with the warranty.

Before anyone says anything, I did read nobody1’s super detailed review and saw that others had issues with the transfer port. But I figured, eh, that was a while ago, maybe they fixed it? Probably? Maybe? Hopefully? Nope.

nobody1 review here

So now I’ve got a pump and a tank... and no PCP. Back to searching for a new rifle

New FX Impact Compact - Newbie Question

Hi all,

I am new to the forum and new to the FX Impact (M4 Compact, in .22), but not new to airguns, shooting more generally, and hunting.

I understand the mechanics of how the Impact works and I love the ability to tune with precision. The catch is that I don’t currently have a chronograph, so (for the immediate term), some of the tuning is more of a feel than an exact science.

The gun’s preset specs, with a second-stage set at 105-110 bar and macro wheel at 16, make 18.21gr Barracuda Hunters expand perfectly in water jugs at 10 yards.

My question is this - for FX Hybrid slugs (.22, 22gr), what settings (second-stage regulator and macro wheel) do you find work for you, with the aim being full expansion at targets within 50 yards.

The internet seems to be all over the place, and I only have so many water jugs, so I figured I’d ask those far more knowledgeable than me.

Again, I realize this isn’t exact, and I’ll need to do my own experimentation. I’m just trying to get a general sense of starting settings for the FX Hybrids in an Impact M4 Compact.

Many thanks in advance.

Traditional Rifle  SOLD Cometa Fenix 400 USC, .22 caliber, with UTG 3-12 Bugbuster scope

Overwhelmed with life at present and just don't have the time to enjoy this Cometa Fenix 400 USC springer in .22. It has quite a lovely walnut stock and comes with the UTG 3-12X one-inch Bugbuster scope with mildot reticle. All in excellent condition. I have only plinked with the rifle a few dozen times. Only issue I have noticed is that the range/parallax adjustment knob on the scope is quite stiff, but have heard this from other UTG users. Asking $350 shipped, firm. Can do Paypal. REDUCED to $325 shipped. REDUCED again to $300 shipped.

Umarex  NOTOS accuracy issues.

Last summer I bought a Notos (first every PCP airgun). I had zero issues with it and use it only for sparrow control at my house. The place I shoot from is exactly 33 yards and I have had it zero'd at that distance. I notice last week I was missing, which has never been an issue. I thought maybe I had bumped something so I set up a bench to zero it back in. I found at 33 yards I might go 4 or 5 shot in a decent group then the next shot might be 7 inches or more high. Then it might shoot a few high and then jump around again. I have not cleaned the barrel yet but have read on here some people don't clean for thousands of shots. The scope (Bug Buster 3-9x32) seemed tight last time I shot but I am going to double check all those bolts. Is it likely a barrel cleaning issue or is there something else that is likely. Today when I first tried to zero it in I shot about 7 shots in a row that were within an inch or so and thought it was good. Then I missed a starling (big target) so I went back to the bench and it was shooting about 6 inches high. I am using a SCUBA tank and always re-charge the gun once it gets around 1700 PSI on the guns gauge. I would guess the gun has 300-500 shots through it total, H&N Terminator 16.36 grains.

Decided on a PCP...

Now, where to buy? I have been looking for a decent PCP. I have decided that an Umarex Zelos (22) would be a good "starter" PCP for me.

I've checked the Gun Deals web site and found that these can be purchased for about $400-$450 from some websites. Most others have them at around $600.

Has anyone had luck with any of these discount sellers? Their web-sites all look similar, which makes me cautious.

I appreciate any feedback you guys/girls have.

Thanks!

Barrel loose in the middle after machined at breech

Hi Everyone,

I bought a new LW polygon OD16mm 60cm blank barrel. This blank has even friction / tightness from the breech to the choke when I push a pellet on it.
Then i asked a gunsmith here to machined the breech of the blank to fit my airgun. After finished , it has a loose in the middle of the barrel.
Is there any explanation about it? And how to avoid it in the future? Is there any tips for the gunsmith when machined the blank?
I already asked the gunsmith, and he just said that sometimes its happened.

Thank you
Aldhy

HW/Weihrauch  HW 50 s Finally Broken In

I own two HW 30s and a ProSport. None required any tuning or break in. All had smooth shot cycles and superb accuracy out of the box.

Always wanted an HW 50 and picked one up about 8 months ago. Was disappointed in how rough the shot cycle was. Buzzy with some spring twang. Had to routinely tighten screws and and mounts. Accuracy was good, but the gun was more than a bit hold sensitive.

Tried a lube tune with mixed results. Didn’t want to tinker with it anymore than that and just decided to break it in by shooting it. I was hoping for a gradual improvement and was not sure if I would even notice any improvement from week to week.

It had become my least favorite gun, but I continued to shoot it a couple times a week just to see if there would be an improvement.

I’ve probably put a thousand pellets through it. Hadn’t shot it in about a month, though.

Pulled it out of the safe yesterday and viola, I did notice a perceptible LACK of vibration/buzz. Figuring I was probably imagining things, I had lunch and tried it again. To my pleasant surprise, the vibration and spring buzz actually has become almost non existent! Not bank vault closing like my reduced power prosport, but more like my HW 30s.

It took a while, but shooting it did smooth the gun out a lot. Very pleased with the gun now. I guess patience can be a virtue.
