FX  This is why I have remarked the accuracy of my DRS 600 mm super powerful plenum .22 Cal:

Take into considerarion that:

1.- I Am just a Hunter, not an EBR shooter. So you can do it much better than me !!

2.- I do not use a bipod, just a rest made by myself.

Now look at this five shot group at 90 yards:

FWB  Make my day

I got a tag at the mail box. Things instantly turned into a F1 race and I’m in my side by side with about a mile of iced road. Jumped into car and 3 miles of icey roads then good highway. I flew.
Last week I saw this rifle on Gun Post and couldn’t jump any faster. A FWB 127 sport .22 cal. Arrived today. Gave me the gun case and this is it.

IMG_0910.jpeg
I put a few lead through it. Jacks like a dream.
IMG_0911.jpeg
Just got off horn with the guy I bought it from. He tells me it‘s owner shot iguana’s with it in Mexico then moved to British Columbia.
IMG_0912.jpeg
Sat in a safe for years. My buddy got it from his estate.
IMG_0913.jpeg
It’s been looked after.
IMG_0913.jpeg
I’m liking it already.
IMG_0914.jpeg
Love the sights that come with it. Also has slings for a strap.

Plan on spending some time with this baby. Such a shame these guys don’t make springers any more. Crow
Love to see your 127’s.

JTS  First Blood for MAX

Yesterday, set rain-soaked patio furniture in sunshine to dry, guess crows got curious. Knowing patio door movement means trouble, lookouts kept eyes peeled, while others investigated. MAX and I slipped out garage side door and, steadying on A/C unit, drilled a Hades 26.56 grain right thru this guy's noggin @ 30 yards. First time, since October 2022, that MAX earned his keep, felt good for both of us. WM

FX  FX Impact M3 - I Can't Tune It to Higher Velocities - Strange ???

Hi there Guys - hope you're all well.

I've attempted to tune my FX Impact M3 in .25 calibre, to shoot JSB King Heavy MkII 33.95gr pellets at what is considered to be their optimum velocity of around 880 fps or so.

As I nudged up the 2nd Regulator in 10 bar increments, this is what I saw. (I did fire 5-6 shots to let the gun stabilise at the new settings each time).

Initial 2nd Reg P = 100 bar

2nd Reg P Muzzle Velocity
(bar) (fps)

100 685
110 695
120 710
130 710
140 740
150 575

I stopped there as I clearly wasn't going to get anywhere near 880 fps before hitting the 170 bar maximum 2nd Reg pressure - plus obviously the MV had actually dropped.

This is the first time I'd attempted to tune my M3 - I simply decocked the gun, then rotated the behind-trigger reg anti-clockwise to nudge up the 2nd reg pressure. I'd changed nothing else from the factory settings I've been using in the 3 years I've owned the gun. Valve adjuster at 4 lines, Macro wheel on 16 and micro thumbwheel on 3. 1st Reg is at 150bar.

I did fill the air tank to 200-250 bar before I started, and a couple of times during the 'tune' to keep the pressure topped up.

Anyone have any ideas what's happened / happening / what I've broken ? There is no air loss or anything obviously wrong / damaged about the gun before / during / after - I'm just at a loss as to why I can't get the MV up. I wasn't expecting to reach 3500 fps or anything, but I should be able to get to 800-900 fps.

But as it's my first tune, I've no direct experiance to know if MV increases of 10-20 fps per 10 bar of 2nd reg pressure is typically what you see.

Any ideas please, anyone ?

Thanks Sean

Theoben  Process of Elimination

It was Eliminator day on the range today. Part of my shooting rotation to keep all my guns in good running order.
From left to right:
.25 Eliminator with fat boy moderator.
.22 Eliminator in laminate stock with slim moderator.
.22 Eliminator with fat boy moderator.
22 Eliminator short barrel version with Thumbhole stock and slim moderator.

All these rifles are set at 75% power. I find it is easier to cock them and the recoil is light. Plus it's less wear on the piston head and the overall rifles themselves.
Elimination....one has to go do to space needs in the safe. Which 3 would you keep???

This is a Test

With my new addiction to Airguns as I only have a 13 yard range in cellar and a 33 in backyard when the temperature and wind cooperates I have to pack up and get to a real rifle range. It’s always been a chore getting the gear from truck to bench. I figured I’d get some kind of garden cart .
I’d be bringing both air and powder stuff.
So while looking at Tuxing bottles on Aliexpress saw this cart
i mean seriously look at the price. If true how is it possible? It’s in the US now. On its way.

RAW Rapid  HM1000x detailed inspection

I'm impressed with the HM1000x and I thought that I'd share my detailed inspection notes with those who might be curious about this PCP.

This is a follow up to my first post: HM1000x first impressions. During my first handling of a gun I check it over for damage, that all hardware is secure, and do a quick cleaning to ensure that the barrel is clear.

What follows here are my notes and thoughts on the .22 caliber HM1000x with the tactical stock after the initial excitement has passed and I've had a chance to look it over more closely.

Main use :
primarily as a 100 to 128 yard bench rifle (my backyard range is 128 yards)
some pesting and squirrel hunting

BASE LINE of the PCP as received :
10 shot string (25.34 JSB Monster Redesigned) L 951, H 958, A 955, FPE 51.5

Trigger :
match grade 2-stage, adjustable
4.5 ounce average pull
crisp, very consistent

Overall weight :
9 pounds 12 oz (loaded 12-shot mag, 26 oz scope Helix 6-24x50, 6 oz rings)

Fill :
250 bar (Foster fitting ), haven't determined the reg set point yet.
480cc reservoir (50-60 shots?)

Ergonomics :
balance is good (without a moderator)
weight is reasonable/appropriate, feels right; comfortable to hold
LOP is 13.25 at max, may be a bit short for off-hand but adding a spacer would be easy - will have to see how it is on the bench.

Form, fit and function :
all good and smooth.

Borescope inspection :
crown and transfer port are well machined, no burrs
barrel and rifling looks good.

Tuning :
hammer spring is externally adjustable
regulator access requires disassembly

Magazine :
Disco style of magazine
12 shot
well made, good fit
fed pellets accurately and smoothly

So now it's a wait until spring for breaking in and pellet/slug evaluation. I'll probably post the results of my 40 yard testing in April/May.

Cheers!

Skout  Skout Epoch owners

I got some questions as the new Compact version is coming out. I'm interested but have some questions for you with experience with the guns.

If I'm not mistaken I think I remember you need to degas everytime your done with the gun? Is that just if your not going to use it for a day or 2 or say a couple hours?

How are the first shot FPS from the guns after sitting for awhile? Do they have Stiction?

How long does it take from power up to when you can take your first shot?

Using my guns in pesting situations I'm curious if this is a gun that can be realistically used. I've been blessed with my Taipan Long and Evol Mini where I can leave them sitting forever and know they will hit where I need them to first shot. Being these guns are used for competition and doubt many using them in pesting situations little things like my concerns don't matter much.

I like the size and weight of the Compact, the fact they come with the LW barrel, great power, forward cocking and a big magazine would be really nice. Could also tune for slugs easily during the windy season which would be nice. And price for what you get seems very reasonable nowadays.

  • Question
Hatsan  Hatsan 95 under performing

I have a newer Hatsan 95 Springer in .22 and it's velocity is well below spec. I'm getting 659 - 680 fps with 14.3 HP. Hatsan lists it at 800 fps and others are reporting 780 - 830 fps with the same ammo. I let it go past the warranty period since I didn't have a chrony until recently. Any suggestions on what I can check to find out the problem? Thank you

  • Question
Benjamin  Torn between the 2

On the fence over here and I’d like some input from the group. I’m looking at the Benjamin Bulldog .357 and the newly introduced Skout Epoch compact (would opt for .30 cal). I’m shooting pests including coyotes, raccoons and so on. I know it’s hard to talk about the compact so any experience with the regular epoch would be appreciated as well. Thank you!! Ideally I’d like both but.. well, you know 💵
