Seems like lots of good options. I’m drawn to the Ranger XR, folds down very compact and the price is right. Just not sure if 18 fpe is going to be a limitation.

Any small critters you target will find those 18 fpe irresistible, all you need is 4-5 fpe at POI to kill small game. Here is an image of my plinking foolishness at 102 yards with my Atomic…

I just got into airguns as a way to do backyard hunting, but seeing how fun and accurate it is, I decided to set up a steel range in the yard. Got a Huben K1 in .22 and it’s great, however I want something I can hand pump (for the exercise).

I’m looking for other options with a 3k psi tank or less, because 3k psi is the max I can hand pump. Needs to be very quiet because I don’t want neighbors to hear. Prefer a non semi auto this time around. Sticking with .22.

Option 1: Airforce talon SS .22, but I heard they are very loud even with moderator. I held one in a store and can’t get a cheek weld. I assume a longer tank is needed to get a cheek weld. I also heard the triggers aren’t great. But I like the idea of single shot and simple operation.

Option 2: Benjamin marauder, but I don’t wanna put money into upgrading it when I can just buy a better gun off the bat.

Option 3: screw it and get the gk1.

Anyone more experienced have any recommendations?

My Talon(s) with moderators are very quiet.
Mine are modified, .22 with 18" barrel and .25 with 24" barrel. The baffles are removed.

On both I have Reximex Silent Force long moderator. Little hard to come by right now due to companies not shipping to US.

How quiet? My K1 .22 with Falx is around 107db. Just ordered a Sarissa to see if I can get it quieter.

Have not measured it but action is louder than report.

Not as quiet as my Reximex Throne or Niksan Ozark-TW

How about a Leishy? Saw a used leishy 2 for $1500 on the ads here. Is it similar enough to the k1 that I don’t need it? I like the looks of the leishy’s.

L2 is a great gun, well made with good materials and lots of options and parts .

But then it is 300 bar, which can’t be filled with hand pump.

If I’m gonna use compressor, I’d like a gk1.
