I have not. Is that what you run on your big bore rig? Is it noticeably quieter?

I tried the 6" extension chamber on the ronin before with the 45, but I didnt hear enough difference in sound to warrant running the extra length.

I just finished up my test with the moderators. They were almost equal in sound but the ronin had a deeper tone. The STO felt quiet, but had a sharp higher note that pierced my ear more. Not sure if that makes sense. It was almost quieter but louder at the same time. The ronin was almost louder but in the right tone.

I fired around 50 shots in a row with the ronin and then switched to the STO and it was instantly noticeable that my ears felt it more. The first time I took the texan out to shoot it I screwed on a kami for a .72 cal on it and that is what the STO reminded me of. They both had this higher pitch that breaks through to the ear. I will try the muzzle brake when it comes in and if I see a difference in recoil and group size ill probably just run the brake and call it good, if not it will stay with the ronin.

The STO might have had some clipping. The 1st 2 shots were near where the ronin was hitting then the next 2 shots were 12" left of that, but still next to eachother. I swapped back to the ronin and shots were back on target. Accuracy was good with the ronin. The sub moa barrel lives up to the hype if you do your part and can manage the recoil.

I would not recommend the STO over the ronin for 500fpe. If anyone knows of a noticeably quieter option than the ronin please let me know, but I dont think it gets much quieter for the size than the ronin. My ronin has seen 2-300 rounds of 500fpe so far with no issues.

That’s the only big bore moderator I’ve used unless you count a couple of .30 moderators. It’s hard to compare a .357 moderator to a .30 moderator.

I have had zero issue with my Mus 2. I liked that it is much shorter than the Sarissa. I have probably put 100 rounds through it. Been right on target at 45 yards with JSB .35 81.O2gr Diablo.

Thats good to hear. I looked through the hole and didnt see any damage but I noticed some foam poking out after those initial shots.

With the STO moderators, how do yall know whether you’ll need a high flow or medium flow design?

There's an equation to calculate your flow rate of your gun. Its on their website but im sure you can ask them as well and they could help you figure it out.

I dont bother with calculating that. I just tell them what gun i have and they send me their recommendation.

Yep, I have a Sarrissa and 2 Falx too and they have always been spot on with their recommendations.

As for your felt issue, shoot them an email and they will help you out. Would not be surprised if they just replace it.

@Ezana4CE I went ahead and ordered a emporer v3 to try out. Ill report back how it compares to the ronin. I dont care for the kami length but I would like something just a bit quieter when im at the bench testing.

@Nealgl1985 The Emperor shouldn’t be the length of the Great Kami. I haven’t compared the numbers but it just doesn’t make sense for the Emperor to be that long.
