I’ve GOT A SCREW LOOSE

While sitting on my porch feeding squirrels fresh lead sandwiches, I looked down and saw a bolt on the ground. Apparently, the bolt in the trigger guard had fallen out. That gave me a chance to tighten all the visible bolts in the hw97. Does anyone recommend using light lock tight on any of these bolts?

@BurneyCA Dennis I have a screw loose too. I mean that in a general sense. Did the screw appear to have any Lock Tite on it front the factory? Good question.

Degrease both male a female threads with lacquer thinner. Use a TINY drop of blue Loctite (pin head) on the male thread. It will not come loose again. Use to much Loctite and it will be difficult to remove the screw.

I check mine every so often, but have never had them loosen.

KWK is absloutely Korrect! VC-3 is amazing. It is firm but not locking. It is magic for things like triggers that you just want to firm up a bit. It is easy to clean off and won't damage fasteners. I would try to reserve loctite for life of service parts whenever possible.

I have used Threadlock blue and it works well, but you really need to let it set overnight before using. I now use DAP Tank Bond Thread Stopper. You put it on the screw or bolt for 5-10 minutes, then can screw it in and start shooting immediately. the neat thing is that it stays effective even if you remove/rescrew the screw or bolt 6 or 7 times.
