gasket on plate if just a tiny bit nicked, you get small amount of water in line going to hi pressure side, and it will stop pump. After a tiny bit of water gets out, it will pump again, until it builds up again. The amount of water needed to stop the pump is tiny. If check seal gets stuck, it too can stop pump. I’d start by taking off low compression side, and check for signs of water on plate were low pressure reed plate is. If water gets in low compression side, it will transfer to hi compression side. If it’s a really small amount most of it gets caught on cotton filter. If the water sneaking in is too much, it will stop the pump. Ask me how I know lol
