Events AOA Extreme Bench Rest, Field Target & Big Bore April 27th 30th Ashland, Or

We made a new design of targets that will move with 30fpe at the target with hopes that competitors can play our big bore game with their EFT and EBR equipment, by just changing to slugs and maybe increasing their power a little... so there is no min of caliber size at our event. Some of the new slugs have a BC of .17 and more even, so if you are shooting 50fpe at the muzzle, you still have 30fpe at the target with a good slug.
Also, after talking with some of the competitors, we have decided to split off the 365 yard Big Bore target for a separate side shoot for those that want to reach out that far.
Most competitors will choose to shoot the five targets from 100 to 260 yards. We think this will open up the game to more competitors who don't want to invest in a gun just to play the Big Bore game.

We finally got all the berms laid out and built.. and three of the six targets for the "Long Range" & "Big Bore" contests all set up and tested. The distances will start at 125 yards, then, 145, 175, 195, 260 for "Long Range Class" and add the 365 for the "Big Bore Class" Big Bore will shoot the last five benches and targets and "Long Range Class" will shoot the first five.
Yardage- 125 - 10 point bull = 2" and 5 point out side paddles = 12" x 12"
Yardage- 145 - 10 point bull = 2.5" and 5 point out side paddles = 12" x 12"
Yardage- 175 - 10 point bull = 3" and 5 point out side paddles = 15" x 15"
Yardage- 195 - 10 point bull = 4.5" and 5 point out side paddles = 18" x 18"
Yardage- 260 - 10 point bull = 6" and 5 point out side paddles = 24" x 24"
Yardage- 360 - 10 point bull = 10" and 5 point out side paddles = 36" x 36" (This will be a paper/cardboard target, so lower fpe equipment, can still play if they feel they can reach it)
Again, the game will be 5 shots from each bench at one distance at a time. 5 mins to shoot, and 3 mins to move to the next bench. If you hit the 10 point paddle every time you get a perfect 250 score.. just like the 100 yard bench rest. Same idea for the EFT event.
With some of the new slugs, a 50-70fpe EBR or EFT rig should be able to play at least the first five targets and do well.

We are up to about 40 competitors as of early April. Please let me know if you are thinking about coming and have not registered or talked with me as yet.

Looks good Wayne,
Though I don’t own a competitive gun for such extreme ranges, Im hoping to get lucky and hit at least a couple in the first three lanes, though Im pretty sure the fifth is beyond the reach of my unregulated old USFT (basically the same gun I used to win the very first EBR in 2012, though It was only set for 30fpe with 18.1gr, and I think I can use around 27gr at 50fpe for this event. I also have my .22 cal regulated Uragan if the old girl don’t want to cooperate using slugs.
Me an Ziegler will be there if things go according to plan.

Hi Mike,
LD just called and mentioned that you want to shoot prone in the EFT. He convinced me it would be unfair to all the rest of the competitors. And thinking back, Robert wanted to make it illegal anyway, even though it is not specifically illegal in the written rules... so no prone... sorry.

You told me prone was allowed. I didn’t ask for it specifically. No prone no low to the ground positions, barrel must be at least 15 inches above the ground, correct?
Please publish the rules prior to Thursday so we know what to expect and they don’t change - again. Thanks.
So you obviously aren’t allowing other low to the ground positions like pretzel then correct?
Just specify like Ben does in AZ. Seating position must have soles of both feet flat on the ground. Easy day.
Publish the rules here. It’s required for a GP event. You also need to publish the points awards per the GP rules. It’s different depending on how many shooters finish both days.

It looks like we should have about 35-40 playing EFT, so if only 34, then I have 7 points to distribute, and if 35 to 44, then 8 points.
so if 7 then:
3 for 1st
2 for 2nd
1 for 3rd
1 for 4th
if it's 8 points with 35 to 44 EFT competitors:
3 for 1st
2 for 2nd
1 for 3rd
1 for 4th
1 for 5th
If 1st can not be more than 3 that's the best I can figure out for the AOA Grand Prix points.

Congratulations Mike (Team Centercut)! Great shooting. Wow, PERFECT long range score but not unexpected considering you knew what it could do (Panthera) at even farther distance.

Yes, congrats to Mr. Bricker!! and team Centercut for another great performance. I think the long range event went over well and we will do the game in the future for sure. A cleared course may never happen again.. but who knows.

Had we at tABC known about it (I literally just saw Centercuts post which was the 1st I've heard about it) we would have been happy to promote it on the channel which you can be certain would have filled all of the available 60 spots.
