RAW Rapid  Raw HM1000X: Damned moderator

Hi everyone,
Not long ago, I got a RAW HM1000x in .22 caliber with the integrated moderator (unfortunately), not the offset version. The issue I'm having is that it's pretty loud, since the built-in moderator is basically useless—and there's not much information online.

I know DonnyFL sells an adapter, but I don’t want to add more weight to the barrel by attaching a big moderator like the Ronin along with the adapter. After contacting RAW USA, they told me I could remove the integrated moderator and use a longer carbon fiber shroud with a threaded 1/2 UNF end cap they sell.

So here are my questions, especially since it’s impossible for me to send the rifle from Spain to the US:

1. Is it difficult to remove the integrated moderator? I believe it’s secured with some epoxy and set screws. Will it come off with heat?

2. After removing the moderator, I also need to take off the original carbon fiber shroud. My question is the same—can it be removed easily? Are there simple methods to take it off? Can heat be safely applied to the carbon shroud if that’s the only way?

3. Given all these complications, I considered buying a new barrel for the RAW HM1000X. RAW USA told me they can’t ship barrels to Spain, and I haven’t been able to find RAW barrels anywhere. They don’t seem to be sold in stores. Can anyone tell me where to find a RAW or at least a compatible barrel?

Any help is much appreciated. It’s surprising how little information is out there for such an extraordinary air rifle.

Avenger Regulator

Has anyone taken there Avenger regulator out. There are no you tube videos on it , and I need to know how to get it out. Does it come out in one piece , or 2.
I want to make sure I don't loose the washer stack configuration , or any washers.
Just unscrew it with a flathead from the gun.

Lightest ffp scope offering with a budget

Pull up some of the amazing spreadsheets that @JungleShooter provides us so you can choose exactly which specs you want.

Here is one set…

FX  DRS parts

They have all of the parts to change my .25 over to a .177. I would prefer to order from the states but that does not seem to be an option. They also sell a ‘base’ DRS but again… That does not seem to be an option in the states and we are not allowed to purchase it from Europe Airguns. Seems weird. I would think the states have the largest customer base. I realize I sound like a child throwing a fit but why do they get stuff we don’t? lol
I have wondered the same thing.

Most variety of diameters only in .22 - why is that? And why undersized?

I'm sure it makes a difference sometimes but my P35-22 shoots both diameters of it's favorite pellet, H&N Baracuda Match, equally well. I thought it liked one of them better after shooting a tiny group with it. But later I got the other head size by mistake and decided to just shoot them. One of the groups was equally tiny. I wonder if part of the reason for all the variety might be to give us more varieties to buy and test.

Air Venturi  Avenger Regulator Video

Hello all I need help for my friend in New Mexico. He has an Avenger , and there is not a video showing the regulator remove , and replace.
I warned him about the belliview spring washers ect. Does this regulator come apart like the Zelos where you can loose the stack pattern , or is it a one piece thing
His needs a seal replacement , and he has purchased the kit for that.
Thanks for help. OldVet.

Light vs heavy slug expansion

I use primarily two types of slugs in my FX Maverick VP .30cal:

  • FX Hybrid Slugs 44.5gr
  • H&N Slug IIs 50gr
The Hybrid Slugs almost completely hollow design offers phenomenal expansion as well as a great ballistic profile when used on groundhogs. Here is a recovered Hybrid Slug after a full passthrough at around 55-60 yards.

The H&N on the other hand, will blow straight through the shoulders of groundhogs at 70 yards and would drop them DRT 95% of the time, but do full penetration with a fair amount of velocity afterwards.

CS4 arrived, my first pcp compressor.

I appreciate the help. I have only owned a springer and an older GAMO gas piston. I just came across the Taipan Slash. It reminds me of the leshiy. In the first video, the person said he hoped air would not come back in his face.
Get an FX Impact M4 or a Karma SLS rifle. You can thank me later.

Also, I'd ditch that gold filter and go with the GX Official filter.
