First time posting, lurking for a few years

Welcome. 25Cal is a nice hunting choice. Expect 1-2moa accuracy with slugs in most pcps even the high end ones. There are some that do better but its kinda rare and usually a lot of work. If accuracy is what you are after for hunting power levels there is a short list of proven setups many of us here like to use.

Snowpeak  Zelos / M60 Compact roll call

It’s so confident in itself now that it bravely parked in the executive parking lot. Well, the black aluminum parking lot. The guns with nice wood get to park in the garage.

Ok now you are just showing off ! Parking lot looks very competent.
Once again kudos on your non wood units.

FX  FX Crown regulator problem

Yesterday I contacted Utah Air guns and ordered a new OEM regulator with the newer brass piston. The cost was only $46.44. Don't know if the O ring in the body is included. If not, I'll just go with what's included with the regulator. I think all the regulator O rings will come installed. Looking at that witches hat photo, I think I could easily make one from the removable tip on a cheap mechanical lead pencil I have.
The price is the same as in Spain, the regulator seals come all installed, in an attached support (a screw) you get the Bella-Ville washers, it also comes with a bag with some lubricant, it also contains the O-ring that is installed in the body, that is, the kit is plug and play.

HW/Weihrauch  20 cal Frankenrauch at 50.

I finished the rest of that 50 yard target yesterday so I finally measured my lucky group. I'll call this half inch (MOA) ctc

Here's the rest of the target which are far more indicative of my 50 yard springer groups with a light breeze. Bottom

This why I don't believe in posting just cherry picked groups. There's a big difference between shooting a half inch group and saying it shoots half inch groups.

Happy 4th everyone.

Found someone's handy work in my garden today

If it's the house/family I suspect there are 3 boys that range in age from 12 to 19. There's a service road that runs along the back of the yards. The 12 year old walks around quite a bit. They're new to the neighborhood... no harm, no foul I was doing the same thing when I was his age. I'm figuring it was a 20 yard shot from their bathroom window... not bad.
you should approach and say, “i found your bird. you like pellet guns? i do too, i bet i can shoot targets farther than you.” introduce him to pcp airguns and watch him tumble into the rabbit hole. who knows, he might do something great for the community.

Tuning  How to adjust a Huma-air regulator to its maximum set point, or very close to it?

Without a pressure gauge on plenum or a test fixture ... your only guessing anyways ?
Maxing out the regs adjustment range is really hard on the sealing disk and o-rings in general. While doable the real limiting issue is the bevel washer stack not being stiff enough and flexing too much to create that high a set point.
I would measure the washers thickness & shop for some slightly heavier bevel washers for what your trying to do.

What qualifies as a quality post

Thank you max, handling them first is great advice. Maybe I’ll see which one is love at first sight 😁

My guess will be the TX200. Get it in .177. Then again, the HW97k is all business.... gah! The ultimate springer conundrum!

Find a club in your area to solve your dillema!

PSI or air fluctuations on the gauge

I've noticed depending on the weather the air guns I have will fluctuate what it displays on the air gauges from day to day even though I haven't used them
I was wondering if anybody else has experienced similar things with the air guns
Sometimes I will leave them in the truck but I was wondering people's thoughts on this specifically pertaining to notices in PSI based on the weather
The fluctuations I've seen have been minor but I've noticed them
Day to day or hour to hour if the temperature changes enough. Just the other day I had my regulator pressure drop on me just bringing my rifle outside on an abnormally hot day. It was 87⁰ outside at 830 am in the shade and I store my guns in my basement at 67⁰. The first thing that happened was my scope glass fogged up when i opened my gun case. I then shot five decent 5 shot groups. Then started to notice poi changing on group # 6-8. I looked and the regulator psi had dropped by 10+ bar. I turned it back to where it was supposed to be and got back on track for a while. Next time out shooting I'm going to acclimate the rifle ahead of time, but it will still need adjustments depending on temperature fluctuations

Karma  Red Panda Single Shot Loader?

I've been looking for one as well. It's not too difficult to single load the RP as is, but a flip-out style loader of the CARM style would be nice. I have one for my RAW and it works very well.
I have two CARM single shot loaders also - for my two RAW rifles. Great, simple products! I'm manually loading single pellets in the RP now but wish for a CARM SSL for the RP!

Anyone around Mesa, AZ have a Daystate Programmer

Hi look at thread “DIY Daystate GCU v5 (Red Wolf) programmer„ i made one up myself and just downloaded my high/medium/low settings for my sub-12 pulsar
Damn, that is awesome! Save over $400 bucks lol. Daystate makes quite the profit on them. Let me know how it works. Not quite understanding, I assume you input everything on the computer since there isn't a keypad. Let me know your experience with it when you tune your pulsar...thanks

Resources  Bench rest lane set up.

I just offered this up for the club.

This is the new challenge at the West Liberty Gun Club airgun range. It’s just for fun and practice.

There is a shooting bench and 150-225 feet away is a set of target range in size from 2 inch down to 1/4 inch . Eight targets in all. The challenge is to go from left to right and shoot all eight targets in a row with an airgun.

Just to get your head in the wrong place . Hehe. The smallest target is 1/4 inch or .25 inch or 6.35mm.

The .177 pellet is 4.5 mm and .22 is 5.5 mm

So after making seven tough shots in the wind, can you put a 4.5 or 5.5 mm pellet on a 6.3 mm target from 150-225 feet away?

Are you feeling lucky??

I made this post directing it toward members of the gun club that have no idea how accurate an airgun can be.

I am trying to stir up interest .

Umarex Komplete

does anyone know if you can use the PCP cylinder that pyramid air sells that has the adapter to screw into a 88 gram CO2 port?
Mark
Pretty sure you can. I’ve seen a few different HPA mods. One dude went the co2 adapter with big bottle and said he stopped counting at like 250 shots a fill.

Crosman  Estate sale find

2nd variant, I see a rounded tang and grove, either way very nice :)
Still considered a first variant. Not an 1st “A“ (square tongue on the receiver but a 1st “B“ (round tongue on the stock ). This is how the collectors differentiate the two. Crosman categorizes them both as just a 1st variant.

FX  The outrageous cost of High quality airguns WOW

I agree as stated in this thread that specifically FX should indeed improve more in between their versions to warrant the price increase.

Getting a used Mk2 for $1k is in my opinion a way better deal than a new Mk4 for $2k+ for almost every shooter.
Agreed. FX seems to have gotten into the habit of introducing newer version of their products (Impacts) every six months along with new models before they are fully developed and de-bugged. On the other end of the spectrum, the English and Germans seem to rarely introduce new models or if they do, after a very long period of time. This is partially our fault for demanding so much from the manufacturers. There are a lot of good ideas and new concepts out there that we get wind of and want right away. Sometimes it's better to wait. The good thing is that we have a lot to choose from. Cheers.

Accuracy testing new pellet brands and weights

I would research what has worked in the ghost, alpha/delta wolf. I doubt these barrels are much different. Depending what caliber the staples within that caliber are always a great place to start. 22 caliber : 18.1 & 25.39 jsb. 25 caliber : 25.39 & 33.95 jsb. .30 44.75 -& 50.1. Those pellets are so commonly used a lot of manufactures design their barrels around those. I would start to cull at 50 yards and not waste my time with 25.
