N/A  QB2 problem!

Charles,

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it came that way from the factory. The last few of the series that I've dealt with (ie - straightened out) have not had a tight screw on them. Not to mention the sharp edges and tranfer-port burrs. Then there's the crushed and much restricted transfer port seal. The .22 that I have became a project when all of the above was noted. It wasn't achieving the advertised velocity, either. The originals that Tim had imported were made to a much higher standard. My goal has been to bring it up to that standard.

I'm glad to see that you've got yours working again. Have you cleaned the barrel, yet? They're usually filthy when new and have to be thoroughly cleaned.

Cheers,

J~
Yes the first thing I did was to clean the barrel. And was it every so dirty. However the outside of the gun was very clean of oil or grease. Most of my similar QB were dirty all over. Charles

Tuning  Question: Birchwood Casey Sealer & Filler

The Danish oil and teak oil from Watco is good stuff. Tung oil is great. Boiled linseed oil and neutral shoe polish is dandy. I like to use a laquer based sanding sealer and work it all off with sandpaper a couple coats before I use the oil.

The "wood hardener" I am familiar with is styrene in a solvent. I'm not sure how it would work with stains and finishes. It would certainly seal things up. It may be tough to sand off?

I've never worked with it. I've seen it on the shelf and read the label.

Cactus juice in a vacuum chamber is how I would do it if I was king of the world. Wood looks amazing after it's finished. You can pretty much sand it down to 1200 grit and polish it with very little or no finish at all. It seems the perfect way to finish a gunstock.

Daystate  Interset / good Price selling for Delta/Alpha Wolf Barrel Chrony Electronic Parts

I would be selling the whole barrel electronic hardware for delta-alpha wolf. From breach contact block to muzzle electronic chrony hardware. Thx cc
@chas1969: post a add in classifieds should sell get a price for new from AOA - I might be interested as I have a ghost barrel I could use in my alphawolf

718 yards with FX Impact M3/Absolute MOA/Coldshot

I suspect it's the somewhat large cross section hollow point diminishing the BC, whereas Altaros is a solid nose design, and Mike N's also with his newest swaged slug design, thus contributing to those higher BC's.

Hollow points are to try to cater to the hunters, which is fine and all, but for comps this has it's downsides.

Yes, same reason jetliners have round noses and not a hollow point nose.

Flow Factor (bows towards STO)

😆 You bet ya, OldSpook!!
I will eventually have reduce my time spent on the forums — but as long as I'm on it and silencers come up — I'm listening! 😊

🔘 My Silencer Specs Table (attached below) needs some updating, with the new Impulse, DFL and some others.

🔘 However, I'm not sure how I could include the flow factor in the Specs Table.... 🤔
➧ Unless... — manufacturers, or independent testers like you crazy AGN crowd — measure and publish that info.
➧ Then of course, I will include it — as it will allow potential silencer shoppers decide which silencer model might be best for their particular application.

Or where you thinking of some other way, OldSpook? 😊

Matthias

I think the only way to get that data is to collect it from the end user.

There are far too many designs with different kinds of internals. The only person who can know whether or not the thing performs on the rifle is somebody who owns a rifle and the moderator. Overtime the information could be collected. I don't know how anyone would calculate it.

Fox Howl

Tonight I set eyes on it (around 9pm) and it is indeed a red fox. I saw the animal plain as day a moment ago. Beautiful animal. I’m surprised I captured it in a photo. It wasn’t afraid nor was it aggressive. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about shooting it, but I will leave it be. It’s not creating any problems here.

Optics  SOLD Wts BSA tatical weapon scope 2x7x32

Up for sale a bsa tatical weapon scope that is mil dot and focus to 7.5 yards to 100yds. I bought this scope with intentions of putting it on a small pellet gun like a 2400kt or prod but it just sits. The Glass is pretty dam good but one feature I don't like is the turrets don't lock but to some it doesn't matter.
$60 shipped you pay paypal fees or FF ....PS the reticle in pic isn't focused in pic so don't worry it's clear
