N/A  Help with identifying this gun?

Looks like a custom crosman 2260 or something. Trigger looks different than a 2260/disco or even a QB78. Probably custom as well.

So it's probably a don cothran tube or similar. Is this HPA or bulk fill? Looks like bulk co2.
This is not made by anyone in the US. Definitely not Don or Crosman.

Impact 600 or 700 barrel for 300 yd shots with slugs

I have just become able to shoot 123 meters, which i think is around 140 yards, me only shooting .177 and coming from a comfortable 86 M / 92 yards it suddenly feel very far.
BUT ! i have put lead on the 123 M and it looked to be quite nice.

I have cut down a 700 mm standard FX barrel to be able to shoot heavier stuff ( 16 & 20 grain ) and it seem to work. ( able to push 20 grain past 1000 FPS )
Tomorrow i will try my Two at the new ranges and see how it like that.

The plan as always is to shoot my 2" targets, and play "annihilate the red base", the red base being the .22 or so small dot in the middle of the targets.

CUZ that is what matter to me, target size and not distance, so going up to 5 - 7 - 10 " targets even further away, that will not cut it for me, even if they are probably very hard to hit.

So by choice, my targets sizes are 2 and 3" or smaller, and that is what i will use going forward no matter how far i try to shoot.

Well This Is Getting Pretty Boring

I just started with the AEA pellets, but I'm seeing so much more weight consistency than JSBs.
I would sort the JSB 0.25 Diablo Heavy by the 1/10th grain - 33.8, 33.9, 34.0, 34.1 etc
The AEA 0.25 33.9 grain I sort by the 1/50 grain (!!) 33.78, 33.80, 33.82, 33.84 etc.
My scale says the AEA are closer to 33.8 and not 33.9 the tin indicates.
At this point there is really no need to sort the AEA anymore, they are so consistent. And how accurate/repeatable are these scales, really??
I'll still sort them, though. You know, just for .... fun.
The only issue I see is the occasional oddball pellet that is so out of line, usually on the light side.
I think in the 3 150 pellet tins I sorted I had a half dozen oddities.
As far as accuracy at 70 yards, I'm still experimenting. So the jury is still out.
My experience also! I ordered several tins of 300 pellets from UA - just waiting for the back order to be filled.

jet 1 to jet 2 duel air cylinder conversion question

There are no torque specs that I know of, if that's what you are looking for. When I did the swap on my I just tightened those grub screws down till they were good and tight. The Jet 1 & 2 are not regulated, the valve assembly is what is being inserted into the block.
ok that's all i needed to hear, i wasn't sure and didn't want to distort anything from going to tight I'm new to these air guns so id rather ask thanks for the info.

Always request transport packaging!

If you don't name them and shame them, VERY much in the public view, then it will almost always continue if it is a business with an actual shipping department, and the owner isn't present to moniter it. Just about everybody on this forum that has bought pellets from Amazon or MidwaywayUSA has complained to them, and here, openly, and they still haven't fixed the problem. A small local shop is actually better served, in the long run, if you call them out so that they fix the problem. I can actually understand Amazon not getting it right, but wth is MidwayUSA's excuse?

Groundhog kill

Shaynster , that's where to put 'em ! I took air g-hog #56 this morning , and it was almost a mirror image of your shot . It even rolled the same way into the hole under the metal garage siding . Keep after them !
I think that is number 7 or 8 for me at work. I just got the wraith scope Saturday wish I would have gotten it sooner.

FX  IMPACT: VALVE VS HST

I was referring to the period when the first gen. Impacts and Impact X were the top of the line, and the first power plenums were coming onto the scene. The MKll Impact was king of the hill and everyone was pushing the envelope with tunes and upgrades.
Impact madness revolved around whatever Ernest Rowe had stirring in his workshop, and several threads on here where guys were deep diving into internal mods for more juice at the muzzle.
I also remember the lockdown madness where ALL anyone had to do was tinker till their heads fell off......

Hatsan  Flashpup consistency & accuracy issue.

Thanks man, this really helped.

There wasn't any felt caught in the baffles, but according to my schematic the nut holding the suppressor to the barrel was installed backwards from the factory.

I switched it around and seated the first plastic doohickey into it before reseating the second doohickey and the baffles.

Shot a .75" group out of the gate @ 25 yards.
Excellent!! I’ve had 5 of those lol in the past

Results  July TEXtreme Bench-Rest Silhouette match report

In accommodating TEXtreme shooters’ requests for more Extreme Field Target practice for AoA’s Extreme FT event at 2024 EBR by replacing our April Bench-Rest Silhouette match with an extra EFT match, it had been six months since our last BRS match (before last Saturday). Nevertheless, and considering the excellent weather forecast, attendance was disappointing. A half-dozen shooters shot a dozen score-cards.

Perhaps those taking a pass knew something the forecasters didn’t, as it felt hotter than the forecasts sounded. I’d venture a guess it wasn’t a degree above 99; however the humidity must have been about as high.🥵 Winds were typically tricky.

Per his most-infuriating habit🤬, Jim Martin won all three classes… AGAIN!🤯 The only thing keeping me from breaking his trigger finger is the fact he ranks near the top of my Favorite Humans list, and he has no😱…. Never mind!

Only two Slug Class shooters was one too few to award a Match Winner hat pin. But being the shrewd manipulator he is, Jim found a way to win a Slug Class hat pin anyway. His excellent 35/40 included ten-in-a-row pigs; hence also a hat pin. Jim shot .22 slugs at 900 FPS in his Athlon scoped Panthera. High five, Buddy!🖐️ Errrrr… uhhhhh... correction-Great shooting, Jim! Need a hand installing that hat pin?

For the sake of all you hanging on every word about my airgun slug journey, suffice to say I finished ‘second’ in Slug Class with my fine Chinese custom .177 QB/Gauntlet hybrid (forty years in the making). Did I say “suffice to say”? I lied! 🤥

Little doubt I’d have finished second no matter how many other shooters might have contested Slug Class (that didn’t). I consider my 32/40 in those tricky winds a higher score than I thought a .177 air rifle capable of (in human hands). Correct me if I’m wrong, but 32/40 may be the .177 caliber BRS record. Regardless, it did get me two ten-in-a-row hat pins. 🐔 & 🐷

Five shooters contested the 100 Foot Pound Pellet class. Jim Martin’s fine 30/40 was good enough for not only the 100 Foot Pound (Pellet) Match Winner hat pin, but another ten-in-a-row pig pin. JM used an Arken Zulus scoped .25 Panthera, shooting 33.95 pellets “940-ish” FPS. Excellent shooting, Jim!

A newcomer to BRS, Paul Kocurek posted an excellent 27/40 in his first, trial-by-fire BRS effort. Paul shot 56 grain Zan pellets at 885 FPS in his Athlon Heras scoped .30 Kricket. And although there was no Second Place 100 FP Pellet Class award, PK nabbed a ten-in-a-row rams hat pin to commemorate his impressive first BRS competition. Great shooting, Paul! (y)

Five also contested 35 Foot Pound Class. Of course Jim Martin won it; posting 24/40 with his .22 Red Wolf topped with an Athlon scope and shooting 18 grain “somethings” “slooowww” for the 35 FP Match Winner hat pin. ‘Slooowww’ being a relative term, and 935 FPS being as fast as falls within the 35 foot pound limit with 18 grain projectiles, we can assume JM didn’t exceed a single FPS faster than 935. Correction- Can we assume JM didn’t exceed a single FPS faster than 935?

Knowing that shrewd competitor, how he rolls, and the depths of his depravity… correction- character, YES, we can assume he didn’t exceed a single FPS faster than 935. That said, also knowing he misses nary a trick to maximize his superior shooting skills, we can also safely assume he didn’t shoot a single FPS below 935! Nice shooting, Amigo!

Jim Clarke’s 22/40 was good for second in 35 Foot Pound. JC shot a .22 Red Wolf wearing a 6-24X Hawke Optic, shooting 18.0 grain AA pellets only 930 FPS. Given Jim’s 5 FPS handicap to Jim, no wonder Jim finished second to Jim. That’s almost .4 FP handicap!

Ever effervescent, Susan Gehrig came excruciatingly close to nabbing a ten-in-a-row hat pin in her first BRS experience by hammering 9 of 10 chickens. And she did so with a borrowed rifle! If we had a Miss Congeniality award I have little doubt Susan would give Your’s Truly a good run for her money. Thankfully Susan has as excellent sense of humor as her impressive shooting skills, lest I wouldn’t poke fun at her like this. By the way Paul, please don’t teach Susan any knife-handling skills! (I had to leave my fourth wife after the third time she stabbed me. I sure miss Lorena!)

As I might have mentioned before, it’s hard to have fun shooting BB guns with a bunch of good-natured, fun-loving, like-minded airgunners shooting little steel animal targets. Nevertheless, I try.

After the match, four of us continued trying to have fun over excellent Mexican food. Some recognized the depths of my supreme wisdom in cooling my overheated core with a LARGE frozen margarita, and followed suit.🥂 This trying to have fun business could become a habit. 🤪

The things I do for Y’all!

Love,
Ron & Maggyy
