Best barrel length for semi and full auto?

I’m currently planning on doing my first airsoft upgrades and I read that 455mm inner barrel is the best length for hop up consistency, but then read that barrels that long aren’t good for full auto.

What is the best length for semi and full auto? Dose it matter?

Airsoft is technically an airgun but I don't we discuss them here. At least I haven't seen them. I think there are airsoft specific forums that probably have entire threads dedicated to hopup. I know I look for paintball elsewhere
