JTS  Anyone heard when JTS will be releasing their new rifles???

I did contact JTS in October to inquire about when the Supra 9x and the Stonewolf rifles would be available. The reply I received was they would be available around the Christmas holiday season. I also contacted them about a week or two ago with the same question, but haven't received a reply as of this reply.

The 2024 World Field Target Championship Experience

So we finished shooting and as you do, we stopped and chatted with everyone we saw while heading back to the car. I saw Mark “Berty”Bassett, he was shooting in the top squad. He shared that Dylan Varney had held on well enough to claim the title. He had a bad day himself but should have done enough to secure a top 5 spot (4th actually). Jack Harris and Gerhard Genade from South Africa had shot into a tie for 2nd and 3rd. So that was a shoot off.
-
As I made my way closer to the car, I stopped and saw Irishman Conor McFlynn and my teammate Paul Cray (who managed to get his scope issues from day two sorted out to come back for day 3). Conor and I were able to do some fuzzy math and realize that we were also tied. So Yoeri, Conor and I would have a shoot of, just a question of for what places. Paul shared his score of 44/50 which was better than Greg (42) for the day and one shot behind me on 45 again. While Paul wasn’t in contention himself, his 44 would help the team score for the day. And Lauren finished on 43, also helping the team total. We just needed to know how the rest of the Welsh and South African team faired.
-
After more info gathering, the table was set. Jack and Gerhard would shoot off for 2nd/3rd (138/150). Conor, Yeori and I would shoot for 5th-7th (133/150) and Greg and Lauren would shoot for 8th/9th (130/150).

I’ll pause here and say this Worlds was impeccably well run. Very few cold lines, near zero protests and they had scores verified and entered online within an hour or two of each course finishing. The Phoenix Airgun Club, Garrett, Bill, and all of their volunteers did a fantastic job running this event. My thanks and praise to all of them!

After more fuzzy math, we had determined that the PCP team finished 2nd! This is the highest podium finish for a US PCP team ever and to be a part of it is an honor I cannot describe. And as expected, the US Springer team dominated! Easy to do when your top three shooters actually finish 1, 2 and 3 overall! But now it was time for the shoot offs!

Ohio native Dan Putz was in a shoot off on the spring gun side for 6th and 7th. He ended up winning on a long kneeling shot. Lauren bested Greg in their shoot off, claiming 8th place. I was not so fortunate, I missed a long kneeler while Conor and Yeori went the distance, with Conor winning on a long standing shot. When I say “went the distance” it’s important to understand that shoot offs at worlds are set up like a lane. Each shooter has two targets, in this case a 25mm in the mid 20s and a 40mm around 45 yards. You shoot sitting, then if everyone is equal after shooting them, kneeling, then standing. It’s all eyes on you in that moment. Anyway, the final showdown saw Jack claim 2nd after going to kneelers.

While I was not thrilled about the shoot off result, it was really hard to be upset knowing I’d just shot my way into the Top 10 in the World, helped our US team podium, earned my master patch, AND finished as the top US shooter. Lots of boxes checked there!

It was a great Worlds and to do all of this on home soil means a lot to me. It’s been a great season, and I feel like I’ve definitely accomplished much, but I’d by lying if I said there wasn’t more work to be done. Hindsight is always 20/20 and as our Ohio crew sat around the table that evening, we discussed the shots we should have made. For me, there were plenty and any number of them would’ve made a difference. But now is the time to learn and move forward armed with the experience and knowledge gained this year to do even better in 2025.

Most excellent write up and performance!

Ridiculous stuff

Really? I live in Hamilton on the west side and if I buy a gun in bob wards they walk that to the front. Last time I bought 22 LR ammo they didnt walk it up front but thats been awhile. I order my pellets, rimfire and load all my other ammo so I never buy in store these days. Maybe its changed around here as well.
TBH, I havent shopped in person at Walmart for a while. Most everything we had been buying at the Walmart can be had online, so no need to acutally go there

FX Panthera Aftermarket Rail (Which is Best?)

I have both. They both have great qualities.

Both are made in the USA, both fabricated to very high standards, both finished exquisitely, and both are very stiff. You can plop the rifle down on a bag/barricade and neither will flex or touch the barrel.

The PR5 rail is narrower and has a more beveled / softer barricade stop. If you like gripping the rail while shooting offhand this may appeal to you. In order to balance the rifle you’ll need 4 of their Fat Bastard weights (or less if you run a bipod out front). The weights are mounted on the outside of the rail.

The Undertaker rail is more expensive but delivers some extra features. The barricade stop is perfect, the rail is wider and taller. In order to balance the rifle you’ll need 4 AirMarksman weights (or less if you run a bipod out front). The weights are mounted internally which is a really nice touch. Another notable feature is that the Arca rail is incorporated into the trigger guard which makes a perfect tripod mount. And if like a nice flat pad for offhand shooting this will appeal to you.

Karma  Karma SLS Standard .

It's definitely a pull when on semi-auto especially, 5oz would be less than a feather pull - so 5#...I'd even venture to creep that up a little when in semi-auto mode - still though, no worries, I got used to it and am hole in hole at 40 yards every time after a good tuning & some experimenting. Outta the box still, dead on. Refining takes the time & experimenting with different weights & ammo types. Much worth it - hope that helps

Kalibrgun  Well this sucks

So are you just going to let the fellow airgunner get away with selling IED’s without even an explanation? Or at least an attempt to contact him just out of curiosity? Maybe some don’t grasp the seriousness of what he did. If that gun blew up on the owner before you or even you, I guess he figured it could never be traced back to what he did. So proving negligence from a legal aspect would be tricky. He’s a turd.
I doubt anyone would fess up to it. Likely they would pass the blame on to the “guy they got it from.”

Kalibrgun  Cricket 2 Tactical first outing 50yd (bought it here on classifieds)

Yeah everything about it is quality no doubt! I was actually shooting pretty quickly with those groups. Sure if I slowed down they would shrink considerably.
Only thing I am not crazy about is the safety is not very "tactile", if that makes sense. Not a huge deal for me, but I could see how it might bother someone a bit. If I got it to be a hunting rig the magazine retaining lever could possibly be a deal-breaker for me! Not an issue for me, and I do appreciate it is very robust along with the magazines...they kind of remind me of the AT-44 mags. As simple as it gets no springs or plastic anything. The gun is heavy, but like I said I have the Flashpup as my go-to truck gun so this is more of just a bench gun for me I guess you could say. Thank you!

Air Arms  Fitting a new firing valve in an HFT-500

Long story short I replaced the valve with a FAC high power valve and it is all working properly except it is still down just a couple feet per second . It is like 860 fps rather than the original 880. FPS with 10.3 gr pellets. I am OK with that but I believe if I use the regular 12 ft lb valve like it had originally it should be fine. The valve will be here soon and we will see. While discussing this with the HFT-500 group on Facebook some old fella had to warn of the risk I face with suck a power cannon .

“Eric if you continue to use the gun at that power level , you are breaking the law and will be heavily fined and the gun taken from you . You do not need this amount of power.”

I just think it’s sadthat 5 ft lb of power added to a BB gun is worth arresting fining and confiscating property.

RTI LR 1-32 TWIST. 25

I have two of the .25LR barrels.

They both shoot extremely well. I’ve had great results with 25.4g, 34g and even the H&N 30g.

The .25LR is more difficult to find than the .22LR - they only offered the .25LR during the final year of Prophet Performance “P1” production.

An interesting thing about the .25LR vs. the .177, .22LR and .30 barrels is that the .25LR has the air stripper pressed on - the muzzle end of the barrel is not threaded.

Umarex  Purchased a Zelos looking for mods

Just picked up one of these. Same part wolverine 3d printed over. I think it was 68$ and i just might paint it black. I could powder coat it too. Never thought i would see the day I would have a 4500 tank on this gun. Tank was 70$ 3000psi reg 15$ on AliExpress and the 68$ part. Should i just have sucked it all up and gotten a fx probably 😂

N/A  Lightened Piston

Stronger springs are required for lighter pistons because they are more prone to bouncing. It's the bouncing that reduces efficiency and causes the loss of power. Stronger springs are typically heavier and accelerate the piston quicker. Both increase the recoil you were trying to reduce in the first place. You can sometimes reduce bounce by opening the transfer port or using lighter and or loose fitting pellets. That reduces back pressure. Increasing the TP diameter also increases lost volume which can sometimes hurt velocity. Everything is about finding a fine balance of forces and opposing forces. You could go nuts chasing this forever. But it is fun to play with.
Another improvement that can be made to a springer is to have a proper spring guide and top hat. Close tolerance, and as long as it is allowed. My HW 97 did not have a top hat, and the guide could have been considerably longer.

The Future of PCP Airguns (7000 PSI Compressor Review Video) AEA 480bar PCP Compressor is here....

He didn't modify it. It was mcabe speed and his zeus malfunctioned and dumped all the air in 1 shot. Then he played it off like OMG look at the power it makes!!!
The thing I like about Macabe Speed is that he doesn't try to hide the half-assed nature of what he does. He's not an expert and he doesn't try and pretend that he is. I remember reading in the comments of one of his videos where someone remarked that the gun didn't seem to be very accurate and his response was something to the effect of, "No, I'm just a really bad shot."
