As is often the case, overnight I had an epiphany; probably in REM sleep, when I do my best thunking. Correction- my only thunking.

What I'm getting at is for Extreme Pistol FT I'll probably change the 3" maximum fore-end rule to exempt fill nipples, that provided they in no way contribute to a steadier hold. Probably have to state they cannot touch the shooter or bipod while shooting.

My .357 Bulldog tuned by Brian Thurman at Veradium Air is definitely up to the task out to 75 yards or so.

I used a small amount of rear view mirror adhesive to fasten a peep sight to an untapped Sheridan F. No problem for several years now.

Haven't had mine apart but most PCPs have a round groove in breech which holds an "O" ring to seal air from blowing rearward when sidelever/probe fully closed. Air pressure often ejects "O" ring if fired without sidelever fully closed. Hard abrasives and petroleum-based cleaning products can damage "O" ring but usually air blowback in face follows accidental firing with sidelever open.

Had a total of 12 shooters this month. The breakdown was 4 in The Full Monty pellet class, 1 in Full Monty slug, and the other 7 shooters chose to compete in the long range pellet class.

Full Monty is a 72 shot match, with targets from 11-100 yards. Max of 50fpe allowed.

Long Range class is a 48 shot match, with targets from 24-100 yards, max of 100 fpe.

Here are high scorers for the Full Monty Pellet and Long Range classes.



The shooters dealt with some of the toughest wins conditions we've seen at Phoenix Rod and Gun Club. Check out those sustained wind speeds in the high teens, punctuated with some occasional outrageous gusts, as high as 29mph. Tough conditions to be shooting BB guns in for sure.



And here is how they fared. I believe this makes 4 months in a row that Barbara has won the full Monty pellet class. Congrats to the winners.

I have said this often, the Epoch was designed for the unrestricted market it seems far happier at 900fps with heavy pellets/slugs and strangling it for the UK sub 12 market doesn't do it any favours.
My Epoch has a few mods and I have changed a few of the poly O rings for 70-and 90 shore in the HP reg, but this will not make any improvement in consistency, I have also reduced the size of the porting from the valve face/transfer port in the hope that it would even things out a bit, but it's not conclusive as I still get too much spread IMO and the dwell needs to be kept low to work with sub 12.

Surprisingly, some of the US guys run HP pressures at not so far of what we do due to the valve restriction, but I guess it's volume that has a big effect and the heavier ammunition is also more stable.

The LP reg seems to have little effect on overall consistency and I can see that it would ever have that much effect, probably best left to run in co-op with the HP reg.
Mine is pretty accurate as I have fitted a Lothar Walther barrel as the STD offering wouldn't hit a barn door.

Front regulator was the problem. UA sent me a replacement kit and after swapping it out, all is well. That internal o-ring was pretty difficult to get out. Ended up breaking one of the brass picks I bought but manages to get it out with the second one. One thing I noticed is the original regulator piston wasn’t brass like the new one is.

You'll want to return it for about a week till you figure out the chinesium way that it works. Once it's working, it's going to be life changing if your experience is like mine.

1 gun, different ammos and speeds, but you can change kind of willy nilly for the situation. It calculated perfect to headshots the starling in the end of this cross arm tube. You can barely see it laying out of the tube at 92y. With monster hades pellets.

When into hardened steels and stainless the drill bits to use are cut on a 135deg angle vs regular HSS on 118.
This difference in cutting angle is what delivers so to say, and such drill bits ain´t really all that much more expensive than the regular HSS stuff.

What to remember when drill into stiffer metals is to keep revs down, use cutting lubrication and keep pressure on the tip up. Ie; use a drill press when at all possible.

I tend to agree with Cavedweller in that you may want to utilize Daystate’s transfer port restrictor in your .177 BW. The reason is that your regulator will not be operating in an optimal place with a 85-90bar setting and fill pressures of 200bar+ pushing on it.

God knows Daystate must have millions of brass transfer port restrictors lying around, lol - they tend to stick them in all their rifles and utilize high reg pressures to balance it - at least in rifles prior to the BW.

Finally, the Weihrauch or Huma Mod30 would be a nice sized mod for your .177 BW. Here is a good place to source the Weihrauch. UK based but shipping is reasonable and you don’t pay UK VAT - so you get it cheaper than if you lived next door to them jn the UK.

Thanks Mike, I will give that a try. My pistol likes the RWS super-H- point 6.9gr. I hope all is well with you.

A laser designator and a 1x reflex.. Love my Zulus but I'd imagine that its frustrating as hell at that range.

As Gerry52 questioned, "What compressor?". If you can post a photo of your compressor and setup, that may help with suggestions.

Making the stock more stable in the bags is a great help. Do it on the butt also.Turning a 10.5 lb bench rifle into a 17.0 gun required more weight than I could fit inside the butt. I added these rails to balance the rifle and it aided tracking tremendously. It did require having Protector making a rear bag to fit the rails.
