Skout Skout Epoch

Have had my 30 cal Epoch about 2 months and very satisfied with how she shoots pellets. Dime size groups all day at 50 yards at 910 fps with 45 grainJSBs . Can hardly wait for Skout to produce a slug barrel for it.

1500 high and 100 low. Dwell is factory setting and not sure what it is. Barrel is LW
Hi shamu,
i was wondering what kind of chronograph numbers you are getting from your tune?
I have seen LPR settings from 8-13 percent of the HPR settings, but your's is the the lowest I remember seeing ..i don't remember that much
Thanks
Mike

Yes, 28" LW latest upgrade.

912
911

in order to get the fps you are getting I have my low at 140 the high is at 1377--95 bar my dwell is 26. Skout recommends 880-920 fps 1700 hp, 160-190 lp, Dwell 23-28. I am curious if you know what is best to chase. FPS or regulator pressures and let the fps fall where it may? I'm guessing chase the FPS and fine tune accuracy with the dwell setting.

Can I jump in here and ask if any skout epoch owner knows how to get the standard deviation down on a sub 12?
UK restricted rifles have a LP reg that does nothing. Dwell set on 12 works best but sd is to high for constant accuracy.
Great gun though, not ready to buy anything else yet.
There is a Skout thread I think in PCP airguns. Everything Skout. Good luck!

If you find a way let me know, mine is seldom below 10-15 fps some pellets better than others and I have tried everything I can think of, just out of interest what chrono are you using?

10-15 pretty much. Using all sorts of different chrono's borrowed from others. JSB heavy 10.34 4.52 being the most accurate and consistent. 7/8mm groups at 26m so far.
Shame the barrel only shoots soft lead pellets so the choice is more limited. Looking for any valve or reg upgrades that might come out. I'm sure this gun has out and out accuracy in it somewhere.

I have said this often, the Epoch was designed for the unrestricted market it seems far happier at 900fps with heavy pellets/slugs and strangling it for the UK sub 12 market doesn't do it any favours.
My Epoch has a few mods and I have changed a few of the poly O rings for 70-and 90 shore in the HP reg, but this will not make any improvement in consistency, I have also reduced the size of the porting from the valve face/transfer port in the hope that it would even things out a bit, but it's not conclusive as I still get too much spread IMO and the dwell needs to be kept low to work with sub 12.

Surprisingly, some of the US guys run HP pressures at not so far of what we do due to the valve restriction, but I guess it's volume that has a big effect and the heavier ammunition is also more stable.

The LP reg seems to have little effect on overall consistency and I can see that it would ever have that much effect, probably best left to run in co-op with the HP reg.
Mine is pretty accurate as I have fitted a Lothar Walther barrel as the STD offering wouldn't hit a barn door.
