Brocock/BRK  Brocock Sniper HR .25 got a Power Tune from AOA

Hmmmm...

Extrapolating from that information I'd guess they could pump my 14.5" barreled .22 Sniper XR pistol/carbine convertible up near 35 foot pounds.

On second thought, since I use her mostly for Extreme Pistol Field Target competition on power-level 2 due to the 20 FP power limit, Black Betty is perfect as-is. Matter of fact after doing the convertible work I had to reduce reg pressure to find 19.99901 foot pounds on PL2; that dropped PL4 from 30 to 28 FP.

I really, REALLY love my .22 Sniper XR; however she required a (warranty) barrel replacement by AoA. I then did a LOT of tuning and tweaking, both before and after the pistol/carnbine conversion. All the details are in the attachment.

Nice looking conversion!! I really like the .25 cal. as well

Kalibrgun  Cricket : Sudden velocity increase

In your rifle's case, it's actually going to use more air at the lower reg pressure as the dwell time has increased. The upside though is I think the consistency should improve a little. In any case though, you should really be setting the regulator pressure for a projectile you want to shoot and at the power you want to shoot it at, and THEN, set the hammer spring tension to achieve consistency and efficiency. It about the balance between reg pressure and hammer spring tension.
Thanks sir for the input.

how do you like the M4? is it worth the upgrade?
It has some minor flaws that some folks think IT should not have for a 2000+ $ PCP . I love it but then I like to fiddle and the M4 is a fiddlers gun . So much power and long range accuracy . Mine is in 22 and I am shooting 25 gr pellets and 30 gr slugs !

FX  Old FX Royale 400 still holds its own

I don't know your age, but if you amortize the cost of that Boss over your remaining shooting years, you might decide that it's a bargain. Yeah, we all pay too much for our hobbies. But, you could be spending as much on golf and have nothing to show for it except a bad back! (my situation with tennis and shoulder)
A shattered wrist 47 or so years ago ended any golfing future. Wrists dont appreciate dropping 220lbs on them. Was free on a fast break, got up in the air for the dunk, guy cut my legs out from under me, arm hit the backboard, rotated head down, everything dropped on my left wrist. Took 3 other players to stop me from killing that little bastige...

I'm 69 but I can afford it, I just have an aversion to paying that much or more for a pellet gun I'll shoot at paper, mostly, in my backyard. For the .30 the occasional raccoon.

Umarex  2 questions for Umarex

● I have three Veteran Mutants with three air tanks I loan out to friends and family.
● I would like two or three to expand my loaner program.
● ...trying to convert friends and family [to airguns]...

Mike,

You're a prophet — trying to convert people to airgunning. 👏🏼

Yes, DO try to expand your loaner program.
You know you're doing the right thing! (Ask me how I know....)

Matthias 😃

Brocock/BRK  Ghost hp cannot be fixed

Funny, I saw this just before I was going to post how incredible the Ghost HP has been. I have zero affiliations and am just a plinker with a love for precision Airguns. BRK, the Ghost, XR Sniper, Commander have just been outstanding. That Ghost HP is so damn quiet and accurate, I am just so impressed. (HP .22, light spring) I can be critical to a fault sometimes and maybe I’d make the safety a little cooler than it is but the functionality is what counts. It could be lighter for freehand but it’s solid enough for bench. Man, it’s incredible how consistent it is. Great trigger on it as well. Truly my best PCP ever.

Gettin thru that tough hide

Also in this thread be mindful that a pig and a hog are different. It is very unrealistic to think you can shoot a boar hog in the body and expect the same results you got shooting a pig in the body with an air rifle. My experience is limited here, but I’ve learned that much.

If this is confusing to you, look up “pig” and look up “hog.” I felt dumb and embarresed when my dad corrected me on this after I thought I knew the difference. I went after a pig once with a .25 air rifle and ran into more than I’d bargained for when a decent sized hog emerged in front of me while I was crawling though briars. That was an intense experience.

HW/Weihrauch  A simple question for the springer tuners

If you confirm there is nothing in the inside of the piston like a stuck washer and tophat, Just measure the original spring top hat etc and then compare to the stack height of what you put in, if the new stuff is more reduce the stack height by taking out a washer etc as others have said. I have purchased kits (not tinbum) that bound if I used all the washers, I usually start with none of them and work up.

N/A  Benjamin 132 Air Pistol appears unfired

I won this Benjamin 132 pistol. It looks so new it's hard to believe its 50 years old.

The condition is incredible to me. I do not collect Benjamins but it was too nice to pass up.

Any idea what the real market value is for 132 in 100% without box or papers unfortunately?

Taipan  Taipan Vet 2s - 700mm & 550mm Pellet and Slugs at 30 yards

I am scratching my head , Why shoot slugs at 30 yards? I can stack pellets one on top of the other at that range ,,,
Even at 50 yards with pellets if the edges are not touching , I need to clean my barrel,, I just don't get this slug thing.

The reason I do in my .177 is for expansion and the KOs are the same price as pellets and the accuracy is about the same . I haven't found a slug that shoots as accurate as pellets in .22 so I use pellets. My next quest is to find a hollow point pellet that is accurate out to 50yds in .22 cal so I can get more expansion. I can get get decent groups with Polymags in .22 but need to do some more testing before making the switch.

These are some 50y groups with 16gr Polymags using my Vet 1 and Maverick both in .22 . But I still want to be sure they are consistent.

3cuervos, do you know of any settings for the human regulator, hammer tension, hammer travel, and transfer port for my Benjamin Marauder?

I currently have it at 170 bar, shooting 847 fps, a total of 25 good shots, but I can't get that velocity up any further and would like to get to 880 with an 18.13-grain JSB.

What rifle do you have exactly? Is this factory regulated? Or did you install a Huma or similar regulator in an originally unregulated Marauder?

1. Port size, probably needs to be .161 throughout valve, transfer port and barrel inlet.
2. Plenum size is probably inadequate, how much plenum do you have?
3. You will need to purchase or fabricate a SSG.

The 170 bar seems excessive to me. Between 3000 psi and your reg pressure of 2500 psi you are getting 25 good shots at 847 fps? Not sure I believe that?

Umarex  Umarex Notos regulated at 200bar

Did you mean that your Notos valve stem get damaged by too much pressure?

I'm saying in my hand was a notos valve beaten to death by excess pressure. And I'm saying 3k isnt necessary for that velocity.

Out of the box you should be 725-735 with 15.89s at stock regulator setting I believe thats 18-1900psi. You should be 765-770 with cphp.

2100-2200, max 2400 should be all you need for the gun to move CPHPs at 835. A little increased hammer tension and you should be able to hit that on 2200. You have 3650~ to play from . At 3k you have 650~ psi before you're off reg. 22-2400 you have 1250-1450. 650- That's nothing unless you enjoy refilling every 13 shots

Anschutz  Anshutz 8002 power increase

I’m not going to take a chance and ruin my 8002. It’s just too good of a shooter to mess with. I shot it for the “one hole challenge” here on AGN. 5 shots at 16 yards that measured 5.07 on the outside. That was a very satisfying day. I’m looking at the TM1000 that Martin is making now. Any thoughts on that gun or others for HFT.
You can’t go wrong with a TM1000 built by Martin!

Skout  Rebuild but Regulator is still leaking...badly

Thank you sir. Very helpful...🙏

The response from Keith was this image with instructions to check the o-rings circled. It makes sense that a failure of either of the O-rings would cause the leak at the junction mentioned in the vid, which is my Epoch's issue as well.
I am hopeful this is the final fix if we find one or both o-rings have failed...🤞

With no intentions to jack Gunsndrums thread, I thought it would be helpful to update my progress with my chronically leaky like new Epoch...

After a lengthy discussion with Keith concerning my dissatisfaction with the amount of leak issues inherent in my brand new Skout and the incessant repairs I have attempted to resolve leak issues with a brand new Epoch with zero shots fired through it, he has agreed to make it right by sending a new Epoch with a 25" LW barrel and accepting the returned defective Epoch, with the assurance that if I experience any issues with the new Epoch, a return and full refund will be issued.
Gotta say, that's great customer service. Glad to see a manufacturer stand by their product with such dedication to customer satisfaction.

I am hopeful second times the charm and I will finally experience the accuracy, reliability and power of the Epoch as advertised, sans leaks. 🤞

I will update my progress in a new thread, and I wish those who are still having leak issues best of luck in resolving same.

Cheers

Pard Night Stalker 4K - first field test

I was able to do some field tests with my new Pard Night Stalker 4k and so far it has shown some potential. I did, however, found some minor issue with the alignment of the laser flashing light and the aim box. Luckily I was able to find some info online on how to fix that.

Now, I just have to wait for drier and warmer weather to test it out on some pest.

Enjoy.
