My Zero Tolerance collection with a couple sprint run knives.
High end Knives collection. I added another Protech to my high end knife collection. I collect limited run Zero Tolerance, Rick Hinderer XM-18 series and Protech (primarily non-automatics). Today I added a Malibu Bronze Custom with Magnacut Wharncliffe blade and mother of pearl push button lock. These have been out of production for quite a while and I found one tucked away in a local shop. It's the gold colored one on the top in the picture below.
The middle one is a DLT Trading exclusive edition "fish scale" textured handle, reverse Tanto blade in M390 steel and plain button lock.
The bottom one is my only auto Protech — the Tactical Response-2 with textured handles and Magnacut steel blade.

Love the wharncliffe ! A good flipper is just as fast as an auto. Good proportions.
Magnacut seem to be trending these days.

Beautiful knives. I've recently started collecting flippers but for now am staying with the lower end Civivi, Kiser, Damned Designs, and the like. Havent ventured into anything high end
Upgrading my woodworking skills. I’m starting to do live edge slabs, and woodbowl turning. thanks to Rob, for the advice on getting started with the turning.
Rockler close by helps... I have Klingspor about 45 min away, but havent looked at live edge slabs. I suppose I've been looking at the 'lazy' way of doing it forgetting that things have been made flat with a hand plane for a lot of years....

I guess this is the best place to put this. Initially I thought I wanted to make and sell moderators as a "side hustle" but I have figured out that I don't really want to do that. I mentioned it in the forums a couple of times though and so now I need to write this.
I don't take "orders" for the moderators I build because I'm not really in the business of selling moderators. I am experimenting and taking orders gets in the way of that process. What I do is list moderators in the classifieds which turned out well, which have been tested and which have brought a smile to the faces of the guys who shoot them. I build them and then I list them in the classifieds after I am done experimenting with them.
Sometimes when I need supplies I build a lot of three or four tried and true tested models which I KNOW work well and put them up in the classifieds. The "Ember" is one such design. Those are no longer in testing. If you see me list any of those in the classifieds they are new.
I hope that helps folks who are asking in the public forums how to get one of my moderators. Please watch the classifieds if you are looking for something. If you want something special (larger caliber, higher energy, odd thread patterns) then send me a note telling me why you think I should build one of those and I'll talk with you about it.

Powder coating...Shake in coffee container with powder coat. Shake off excess powder coat. Place in oven at 400 f for at least 12 min..Dump in water out of oven to separate... Next step sizing
Normally you charge the powder with electricity from a electrode in the tip of the gun, but another way to do it is friction charge it, basically agitating the powder so it collide with itself and so build up a static charge, just like in a cloud with thunder.
I preferred to use the friction gun, well at least when i had to repairing stuff they messed up on the main line as there was no time to send it around again there.
You can have electric build up on the subject which can make it hard to get the powder to apply even again, but there are also ways to Degauss a fire door or what ever it is you are repainting.
I have seen some ( Chinese ) pretty much just dip stuff in a big vat of powder agitated by air from below,,,,,, you also need this for some 2 component powders so its mixed properly before you spray it, but in automated spray boots that recycle powder air on the powder are also used even if its just 1 component.
This is generally a air pipe that sit below the suction pipe for the powder.
IF things hanging on the conveyor are not grounded properly, and go thru a spray booth with like 8 - 10 guns in it, well the high voltage in the guns tip can actually create a powder explosion.

I got about 50 lbs cast last night.. Getting oven ready for shake and bake powder coating
Feeling the spirit to cast some .510 N.O.E 460 grains today. I reclaimed about 300 lbs of lead 3 years ago...I need to try to use it up....I went way over in buying powder coating too about 13 lbs of it....jeez ill never use it..I usually cast 50lbs at a clip...2 Lee 20 lb production pots and a PID controller.... Shake and bake 25 lbs of slugs powder coating at a time.Water quench out of oven to get them to separate perfectly.. Can post pictures of process if.it may help anyone... If anyone needs .510 slugs I will have lots...

This is a PRIVATE owned web site and we members are guests that are allowed to talk & converse, barter and sell so long as within the established rules you agreed to when signing up. I'm by no miens the site police but do understand pretty much what WILL or WON'T be tolerated. So with that said .. good luck.

I understand that. Admittedly, I never even read the rules, just signed up with the common sense of things that aren't tolerated like picking fights and other common sense things. Then I find out that it's forbidden to even mention powder burners or ask the legality of suppressors, etc... Just seems stupid and I have a problem with over stretching rules. Yeah yeah, its their house, their rules.

December 7 have always been a sort of holy day for me, even if i have no dirent national or other tie, then that day is of significance to my people none the less, well the few remaining honorable and caring ones of us.
Mind you most other here are clueless even though they are big on things like Halloween and Denmark have for decades hosted the largest outside of the US July 4 celebrations, though that too are now just a small thing as our two countries have drifted apart and many dont care where they come from or where their family members went back in the day.

I just realized, for the first time in many, many years I let the anniversary of Pearl Harbor slip past me without noticing. My father-in-law was on the USS Saint Louise that day. He is gone these past several years. How soon we forget.
If laziness was an Olympic sport I'd try to come in fourth so I wouldn't have to walk up to receive an award!
