Daisy  Daisy 853c - Repeater

Newly acquired Daisy 853c. This model is a repeater. Uses a five shot clip. This one is NOS. Serial number indicates it’s a 1989 production. Lothar Walther barrel. Chrony’s in at 531 fps with only 1 fps deviation over several shots using 7 grain RWS Basic lead wadcutters. Today is a complete tear down, lube and trigger job. I got this one to put a dot on. These Daisy’s are incredibly accurate. One pump of a lot of fun.

Benjamin Marauder thumb rest install issue

There are similar aftermarket "big" bolt handles for PB rifles like my Ruger Precision Rifle. This one is called the "Hammerhead."

View attachment 577127

I'm surprised someone isn't making them for the Marauder.
I wish I had the skills to do so. Almost every bolt needs to be bigger and levers to in my opinion

Airgun Technologies  The Future of Springers – Are We Still in the Game?

Springers will always have a market.
People afraid of compressed air.
People on a limited budget.
People that dont want to drag pumps or tanks.
Simplicity.

But by design the springer is limited. Not a lot to innovate there. So few moving parts .

What pellets to order?

When Pyramyd first sold the Norma the 4 pack (3 heavy 1 FT) was 9.99. 850 pellets. I bought 4. Wish I had bought 20.

They are very good in all my .22 guns. Just wish they made. 25
HAHAHAHA i bought 20 ,somehow not realizing they were 4 packs , sold them @ the next gun show for $1 per tin .

Other  Beginner 10m Air Pistol Men

Hi!

I’m new to the sport but would like to get started on the 10m air pistol. Just moved to the Kansas City area. I don’t think there’s an air pistol range around us.

Dreams of competing in the Olympics.

1. Where can I buy used air pistols? If I wanted to practice at home, is there a pistol that converts between air and electronic?
2. Where can I buy items to set up a home electronic range?
3. How do I look into competitions for mens 10m Air pistol?

Any and all advice would be welcome!

What pellets to order?

Agreed !! I have purchased ammo from them that was loose & rattling around in the container! I find PA & UA do the best in packing so far. AND Norma 17.6
pellets are pretty darn good for $ and accuracy in all my .22 guns.

Taipan  Taipan Slash first tuning report.

Nice review, and thanks for the information. It's kind of disappointing to have that much power but nothing much to apply it to, nor a way to shoot ammo that would work at more reasonable power levels . . . it seems that all of the variants of semi-autos that shoot out the magazine have the magazine as a huge constraint on what can be fed to the barrel. I was excited to see that the Slash has two different mag sizes to help with this issue, but it seems they did not get it right, at least for launch. Hopefully they will correct it going forward

HW75, you're staying with me

I've had this for a few months now and it's always remained without any sighting device mounted. Initially I didn't warm up to it but I'm growing to like it.

Nice tight bore, crisp light trigger needing zero adjustment (edges my adjusted P1/P11/HW45 triggers by a nice margin), the interaction with the hammer (which must be manually cocked for each shot), and the easy accuracy make this a neat and fun target pistol.

Shot a quick 5 shot group standing at 10 yards indoors using a 2 handed grip. I use a rare earth magnet to secure the paper to my pellet trap, once it's in place it's tough to adjust the target paper (hence the nice tear LOL).

Glad I didn't let this one go. 😉

Thanks for letting me share.
This is an extremely nice gun , quiet enough for in house shooting . Accurate on par with guns costing much more . I have : Morini 10 meter pistol and an IZH 46 ,

What pellets to order?

Amazon does NOT pack well at all . They put in a box with a piece of paper , not wrapped around the tins OR worse yet in an Envelope.
But when you just want 1 tin to test they really are the choice. Prime free shipping. Everyone else would kill you on shipping for 1 tin. Plus 1 tin doesn't get beat up by the other tins

Airgun Technologies  The Future of Springers – Are We Still in the Game?

Well in springers, pick your battle, POWER, COST, RECOIL at this time the the RWS54 is about it. .177, .22
The Whiscombe is the perfect rifle....recoilless, beautiful ,powerful, best trigger, rare and expensive.
other recoilless rifles are in the 6-12fp range.... Park, FWB 300,Anschutz 380, AA SR but not currently produced.
The 54 is a scope killer without help ( Bullseye mounts), not a great trigger, medium power, recoil friendly
Men's springers Hatsen and Weblely are powerful , hard too cock, recoils.

So it appears PCPs win

And I love my Whiscombe's, Park, 54, SR's , A 380, FWB 300, Webley
Don't love being old and broke......but happy
In today's world......Easy, no effort required.......is the winner.
I have a Diana 54 I love in .22. It took some effort but is very accurate. Not crazy about the trigger but I have learned how to get along with it.
Sightron STac 4-20×50 scope mounted in Burris Signature rings with inserts. After over 2000 shots, no issues.
So do PCPs win. Not in my area. I have never seen one at a range. Lots of active competitive various powder burning discipline shooters around. No PCPs.
I was surprised when a National class BR shooter recently told me he owned some high end PCPs. He said while impressed with the accuracy he hated all the fussing and gear so had quit using them. My interest in Springers has him thinking about trying one.
BUT, bottom line the looser seems to be airguns period. Sad and I hope I am wrong but the interest is just not there. I sit guys down, they shot several pellets in a small hole and are amazed, but it pretty much ends there. Will the pendulum swing as time goes on.....only time will tell.

What pellets to order?

So maybe they don't work out to being the cheapest.... But, they pack them VERY well protected.

I bought some from Midway USA (one of my favorite firearms accessory vendors), and while the price was lower, they didn't protect them AT ALL. They came in a box with a single crumpled piece of paper as "padding." Luckily, they did not appear to suffer any damage. But I won't be ordering pellets from Midway in the future.

I just did a search and Utah Air Guns dot com was MUCH lower on their pricing for my gun's favorite pellets. Anyone use this vendor?

Is there a QD mount for the DNT TNC225R ?

All said is true enough. It's the eye relief that stopped me from getting one. So, you can permanently mount the scope to this, and then this to the rifle. I know you can zero the DNT, not sure about other scopes as it may raise the scope to much <shrug>

Huben  Any issues or problems with Huben gk1 please share your experience

Where do you get your O-rings for the GK1s in the USA from Oring suppliers? Probably will buy a few dozen just in case..:)
It depends. If I need a bunch of o-rings I'll use the oringstore, or captainoring. Make sure you get a kit, if available, or ensure that you are ordering the correct size! Sometimes I sneak in an item, if I'm ordering from McMaster-Car. Ordering from McMaster means you are getting a bag of 100, so that's practical only for small o-rings, since they're cheap. It's rare to find one place that has what you need.

Another source is from the person who sells the GK1. I'd email Kelly at KrazCool and see if he sells a complete kit. If he doesn't have it, I'd bet he knows where to find them.

One note, the GK1 seems to use NBR80 o-rings in a few places. NBR80 is uncommon. The standard in the US is NBR70 (soft) and NBR90 (hard). Use NBR90 where there's direct contact to the high pressure air, if you can. The NBR70 can extrude and fail.

If only I had the skill of a taxidermist!

I would have a valuable use for the coon I just trash.

I've often thought to do something like that w/ a G-hog , maybe with a small miners' hat & a shovel. My wife brings me back to reality !

Squirrelfest

Bayonet, that’s a good one!

The two-yarder was a young, dumb one who came up to my shooting position. I didn’t use Strelok or even the scope, just by guess & by golly. That one took two shots.

Landowner said he’s tried rimfire but after one shot they all disappear for the day. I love my quiet and accurate rifle!

Yong Heng after piston replacement

Yong Heng used to call for using AW ISO 46 Hydraulic oil. They don't anymore.

If you are saying any ISO 46 oil is suitable, you are being too vague.

No, I'm not being too vague, I've said here repeatedly that ISO 46 is the correct oil type, because that's in fact the correct type. And nowhere does Yong Heng say that detergent motor oil is the correct oil, nor do they specify Seco 500. There's nothing vague in any of that.

FX  Impact M4 - Standard or Sniper?

I have a 580cc bottle on my 600mm barreled M4, no special moderator needed, the FX mods that comes with it fits and works well. I also use a HUMA-AIR MOD40 on .your 600mm .30 barrel and it fits also.
Some moderators are pretty fat (and ugly).
I have had issues (of my own making) with the certain popular brand being too fat.

For everything .25 and below I've been going to the Reximex Silent Force long.
1" aluminum tube.

0db are the best for .30 and up.
Airgun Capital is another slim moderator.

All three are good moderators and they dont have clearance issue or look like keilbasa hanging off the end of my gun.
