What pellets to order?

Accurate and inexpensive is a tough combination. Most of the low priced pellets I've purchased over the years have been disappointing but there are occasional lottery wins that keep me playing the low odds game.

Lately, the best value I've found are the Norma heavies in both calibers (9.1gr and 17.6gr). Granted, not as good as some of the more expensive brands but far better than Crosman.

A word of caution on ordering pellets from Amazon...a lot of people have reported a high rate of shipping damage. My experience was similar. Here are the JSBs they sent me.

They graciously sent replacements...which also arrived damaged. Pellets that are shipped in carded packaging tend to fare better.

Pyramyd air buy 3 get 1 free. Best deal on pellets and slugs

Not at 10.79 each
10.79x3=32.37

Hatsan;
7.99x4=31.96

The 1 free is not free, they just charge more for the other 3.
Yep just a sales gimmick. Def don’t order from Amazon. 90% of the time they are over priced on there and they have a tendency to destroy them.

My apologies for the suggestion. I will keep my opinions to myself in the future. As an At44 owner I am very pro Hatsan. I hope you find the right pellets that work for you and that you have a great day.

No need to give up. I literally made the same mistake and had the facts pointed out.

That 4:3 works very well when Pyramyd has a 10% or more off sale.

I think Utah Airguns does 5:4. Same issue.

Again, new to airguns.
Mark I in 17 and 22 cal.
What are good accurate pellets to try that are inexpensive.
Going to order from Amazon.
Amazon does NOT pack well at all . They put in a box with a piece of paper , not wrapped around the tins OR worse yet in an Envelope.

Pyramyd Air, Airguns of Arizona, Trenier and The Pellet Shoppe are all great vendors. I suggest shopping around and seeing who has the best deals.

I had to purchase Falcon 7.3's from Pyramyd this weekend because no one else had them for sale.

Last week Trenier had Air Arms 10.3's for only $15 a tin.

Both of the orders showed up damage free and were shipped quickly.

Dealing with known good vendors goes a long way even if it costs a bit more.

One place I will never purchase pellets from again is Midway USA. They are a great vendor EXCEPT pellets. I ordered half a dozen H&N pellets and two of them broke open in shipping. 1000 pickup right out of the shipping box. Oh I was pissed!

I will pay a little extra to know that my pellets will show up in damage free packaging and all of those vendors mentioned excel at pellet shipping.

So maybe they don't work out to being the cheapest.... But, they pack them VERY well protected.

I bought some from Midway USA (one of my favorite firearms accessory vendors), and while the price was lower, they didn't protect them AT ALL. They came in a box with a single crumpled piece of paper as "padding." Luckily, they did not appear to suffer any damage. But I won't be ordering pellets from Midway in the future.

I just did a search and Utah Air Guns dot com was MUCH lower on their pricing for my gun's favorite pellets. Anyone use this vendor?

Utah Airguns is a quality vendor.
I wait until there is a sale before I buy pellets from them, just as I do with Pyramyd

Agreed !! I have purchased ammo from them that was loose & rattling around in the container! I find PA & UA do the best in packing so far. AND Norma 17.6
pellets are pretty darn good for $ and accuracy in all my .22 guns.

But when you just want 1 tin to test they really are the choice. Prime free shipping. Everyone else would kill you on shipping for 1 tin. Plus 1 tin doesn't get beat up by the other tins

When Pyramyd first sold the Norma the 4 pack (3 heavy 1 FT) was 9.99. 850 pellets. I bought 4. Wish I had bought 20.

They are very good in all my .22 guns. Just wish they made. 25
