Sounds to me like if it's not a hammer-strike issue it could be a bent valve-stem issue. .

DId you use the brass screw under the loading gate to degas? If so, that is likely your slow leak and a good place to start. Super easy.

Your results are to be expected with the ammo you're using, too fast shot cadence, and unfamiliarity with 2240s and Co2 properties...
