SET UP FOR THE NEWBIE

I've never bought anything I didn't need, even if I only used it the one time and have forgotten where it is now...lol
Seriously though, while budget guns and accessories can be fine, if you're not a tinkerer they can be full of frustrations and disappointments.

FX  FX WILDCAT gen 1

i degassed my wildcat today to add a reg in place of the brass plug. filled it up seemed to hold air pit ear next to gauge. went back to check on it 4 or 5 hrs. later and 0 pressure. so i gassed it up again. its leaking past the oring on the breech end of the cylinder? didnt touch that. my question is , by degassing does this sometimes happen where orings are compressed and just dont seal again.?
next question……
the parts list shows the oring as a 23mm x 2.5mm. is the 23 inner or outer dia. not sure how fx sizes.
thanks!
2.5 is the o ring thickness

Quietest, and most accurate

As someone who bought a springer for their first "high-end" air rifle, I would definitely recommend going with a PCP instead. There were several better performing options I could have gotten for the same amount of money, even with a pump included in the total.

Resources  Field target is an arms race price test

You can but it is called the AA S500XS which is basically the same Airgun but you have an adjustable transfer port.

That is what I was about to do before I bought my HFT that is modified. The 510 was actually in my cart to purchase when someone mentioned the magazine is loaded from the left side and interferes with the side wheel. The 500 is a single shot that I personally like better. I think the HFT trigger is better but I’m not sure about that. I’m sure the 500 trigger is fantastic.

What's with the Slug Speed fetish lately?

I've noticed lately that more and more shooters of airgun slugs are increasingly looking for higher speeds... My question is why?

What is the benefit of shooting faster, say 1050 compared to 900 fps?

Wind drift isn't better. Yes, the shots are "flatter", but really, with distances known, does that make a difference?

The gun gets less shots per fill, and is harder to shoot accurately, so what is the reasoning other than psychological?
Speed isn’t just psychological—it’s tactical. My .308 Texan’s been modded specifically to run slugs at high velocity with stability and accuracy. That includes tuned valve flow, selected slug design, and real-world field testing. I’m not chasing numbers—I’ve built the system to perform. Faster shots mean flatter trajectory, reliable expansion, and quicker impact—all dialed for clean hits at known ranges. Fewer shots per fill? Worth it when everyone counts. BARS 150gr slugs.

Beeman  Beeman R-7 .20 cal rebuild….. results….?

My apologies. That makes much more sense. :ROFLMAO: Going back and re-reading your post, and I have no clue why I misunderstood what you had clearly stated.
As far as output variation goes, you may be onto something, there. Ive never really given it much thought.
I unfortunately have plenty experience with it. It's a real thing

Gamo  Little 50 yard action with the magnum

15-20 year old Gamo were junk but Gamo came long way. Today Gamo are super accurate, shoot smoother and better engineer and quality. The only negative is the trigger and plastic barrel latch. I upgrade the trigger with Tuna but over-all I'm very happy with my Gamo Hunter Extreme .25

BRK Ghost Review

i shoot from 15m to 40m is zero.. when it go over 50m the bullet go to the right... do you know how to solve this or what's part i need to check ?
@Aristovertex ,
Slightly Rotate your scope within the rings CCW, or until you achieve a top dead center vertical pellet drop. Winds may also affect this but i think rotating your scope is the fix.

If you started now?

After shooting with my son in law today, decided 4 was the magic number.
the 30 Impact covers any needs for larger critters, the Maverick will go back to a 25 compact, the 22 Impact covers my slug gun needs and now I need a mid power 22 pellet pusher. Dang this ain’t a simple process and the outcome is uncertain
Aaaahhhh now the fun begins
scopes 🤣

Lets see those pistols turned carbine!!!

Two of my Prods. Fun platform and accurate. Just got a 1720 to tinker with next 🤘💪

@RobBonnell89
i have that same stock you have, thinking I would just drop my Airguns Revision HFT Marauder pistol in it…. Sigh, no fitment without some serious inletting. So I sold my HFT marauder pistol and I am trying to decide what to do with this beautiful stock?

Robert Lane closing shop for indefinate period

this one buddy and it came with a plenum for the artemis p15. 1.77 cal we haven't got a clue how to fix it, or what the problem is! we've put it in the rifle but we're getting no speed (velocity) really the max is just over 400fps😕🤔 weather that's down to the regulator I don't know but it's a brand new artemis p15 and brand new huma regulator 🤔 and I feel like giving up on it, this will be the 2nd rifle.... thanx

I recently got the Huma reg w/extra large plenum for my Stoeger Bullshark, essentially same gun as Snowpeak, and I also got the regulator tester. Anyway, according to the tape gauge the reg came set ar 110 bar by the indicator mark on the set screw. There was also a tiny allen screw included that goes into the set screw as a flow restrictor and prevents any debris from entering reg. It's screwed all the way in then is backed out 2 turns. So that's what I did, maybe did 2 1/2 turns.
There was nothing about adjustments to a screw beneath the set screw. There's rebuild videos that may give information about that.
These are advertised as capable of being set to 155 bar. With the regulator tester I found my tape gauge to br slightly off, about 5 bar lower than marks. Counterclockwise increases the reg pressure. As directed, need to turn set screw about 10 bar above desired setting then back down to desired setting when increasing reg pressure. Lowering pressure can be just turned down.
Set mine to 150 bar and then it was just a direct install.
Two other things I did.
1st: I measured the overall reg length before doing anything and wrote that down for a starting point if/when the reg ever needs to be rebuilt.
2nd: I used an engraving tool and transfered the set screw mark to top of screw, and 140, 150 marks to flat face of the reg. Used a dab paint on a toothpick to color the marks, white for set screw, and orange on reg face. (What showed up best.) Now I can make approximate adjustments by those from front of air tube if needed.

The SPREAD = parallax wheels comparison

I thought I would add an interesting and personal summation where I compared price point to overall suitability for Field Target.
This is quite subjective and it doesn’t mean it affected my scope choice or “final scope selection“
but….
as of 8/3/2025, the overall best bang for the buck, sub <$800.00, provided the reticle thickness agrees with the user at 16X is the Element Titan 3-18x50 in FFP,
but
Athlon Heras SPR 6-24x56 in SFP, providing the reticle thickness agrees with the user, creates a tie, because the I. Q. Of the Heras beats the Titan so….🤔damn.
I have the Heras and liked it so much I bought a second one.
