Robert Lane closing shop for indefinate period

Hmm. I just spoke with him on 4/22, this is unfortunate, although either he or an associate spoke to me like I was an idiot, and I wrote him off as a for a lack of better words, a poor businessman. I am using one of his regulators in my marauder but regret doing business with such an arrogant man.

He tried to tell me 2 threads (coils) on a fastener is max strength...when its actually more like 4-6. I thread my gauge adapter into his regulator body no different than I would my stock gauge block and caused the bottom pocket to push out. I inquired for a replacement at my expense and he still gave me troubles and arguments. I included pics of my adapter threaded into his regulator body and my stock gauge hand tightened. I was only able to achieve 1.5-2 turns on his and on the stock gauge 4. Guess he expects me to only tighten my gauge adapter 2 threads on a 2000+ psi rifle...well that was his defense at least. Excuse my ignorance if I am wrong but I don't feel safe with 2 threads and that didn't allow it to seal, torquing further it was impossible to differentiate from "keep going" or "its good" as I was creating aluminum shavings going further. I concluded the threading wasn't a true 1/8" NPT @ 27 threads per inch... Pics below

He also threw the "This is not a business, its my hobby and I am a Dr" line at me...like really? Stroke your ego much? This is a business, you have an ebay store, a website and yea...I won't go into any more length.

I got myself a regulator from them in the last couple of weeks. I had ordered and paid through his website, but hadn't had any confirmation from them for a week, so I emailed to check and my reply was quite abrupt and almost defensive saying they had been in business for 22 years and that they always send orders immediately. Anyway I figured they were having a bad day, thanked them and when it arrived a couple of days later I let them know even apologizing for checking on them. Really impressed with quality of product and all the support videos. But very odd PR skills.

I hope he has a good recovery, but I wouldn't buy from him, based on this feedback, even if there are no other options. I hate it when I find out that the giants in the industry are jerks.

It has been that way forever though, the most talented can afford to be arrogant, to an extent. Mozart was allegedly pretty arrogant, didn't think pupils were worth his time, even when he was struggling to get paid composition requests.

No matter what has happened to him i hope he gets well fast.
I got a regulator from him and another 2 friends and everything went smooth and the communication was fast.We have no bad words to say about him or about his regulators. One of my friends got his regulator just over a month and like i said above he had no issues.
Another friend got a Huma regulator so we can argue with him for laughs . Both Huma and Lane perform perfectly

hi I've just been reading about Robert lane and noticed that you said you have a huma regulator! when I got mine I don't think it was set by the store, and I've tried to get hold of huma-air to sort the problem out, unfortunately they haven't been a great help and wondered if you knew how the huma regulator work's because we're being told so many thing's and none have worked out 🙄 we know how to set the regulator but there's supposed to be another screw that's meant to be turn the other way so many turn's, it's bloody mind boggling could you please let me know how it's supposed to be, it's for an artemis p15 air rifle brand new this one. thank you for any help or advice you could give me 🤝

this one buddy and it came with a plenum for the artemis p15. 1.77 cal we haven't got a clue how to fix it, or what the problem is! we've put it in the rifle but we're getting no speed (velocity) really the max is just over 400fps😕🤔 weather that's down to the regulator I don't know but it's a brand new artemis p15 and brand new huma regulator 🤔 and I feel like giving up on it, this will be the 2nd rifle.... thanx

Does the gun work without the regulator?

If it does then:

The regulator goes in the tube with the numbers outwards.

The pressure is set by the brass screw head. There is a small notch on the side of the regulator. That indicates the pressure in bar on the label around the regulator.

Set the pressure to 160 bar (2300psi).

If that does not work then most likely the regulator is bad or you have turned the screw 360°

Notch set for 140bar

hi thank you for that, I do know about what to set it to, what we don't know is the screw underneath it's supposed to be turned so many way's but you can't do to much because it mess's with the regulator and won't work! that's the problem I'm having, you say set the pressure bar to 160? there isn't a 160 it only goes to 150 bar 🤔. that all im having trouble with because I've put it in my new rifle and the results are a joke 😂 even though it's not funny 🙄 all the gun shop's are asking £200 just for them to look at it 😕 so I thought someone maybe able to help me on here 🤝

Well set it to 150 bar. But does the gun work without the regulator?

First eliminate a mechanical problem with the gun. If the gun works then go back to the regulator.

If as you say the power is minimal the regulator is adjusted too far to the low side. Take your time and turn the screw 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction. Test after each 1/4 turn. If you do not see any increase in power after 1 full turn then the regulator is most likely faulty.

I just realized you are UK 12ft lbs too.

Did you drill a hole in the air tube to corispone to the hole in the side of the reg? Reg need to be vented to the atmosphere pressure otherwise it's just going to end up being what ever pressure that is in the tank. Did you get instructions on how to install it.
no there was no instructions only a barcode that you could scan for instructions which is what we did and it ment to be a stright swap buddy and the gun can't work without the regulator buddy. thank you for helping me so far 👌🤝
