Busted two this afternoon with the HW100. Spotted the first from around 30 yards and put a JSB 18 grainer through it's noggin then stood still a few minutes to see if any others were around. Saw nothing and moved around ten yards towards where the first had fallen and a second squirrel hopped into view. Safety off, quick aim and pfffft, number two on the ground. Both young and tender meat, fried squirrel for supper!

So I have today off. Shooting in the back yard.

First time with a PCP. Only shot this once, it was enough to figure out it's an air hog. 25 shots takes it from 2900psi down to close to 2k. I backed the hammer spring adjuster all the way out then tightened 2 turns.

So now I have the chrony set up and this is what I got:

Put 15 JSB 15.89gr over the chrony and got average 786 fps, extreme spread of 9 fps, SD=3.

Shot 10 H&N Barracuda 18.13gr AVG=756, ES-10, SD3.

Started at 2900-2950psi 25 shots later I'm at 2150'ish. It's only doing 21-23 ft/lbs so why is it such a gas hog?

I’m having a .25 TJ barrel machined for a huben, and while reading the specs, noticed it only has 4 lands compared to 10 lands in LW barrels. I’m no ballistic genius but I think less lands are better than more for slugs. Less surface area that the slug has to engage. Anybody have experience shooting slugs with both barrels on the same gun?

*Also the TJ has a 1 in 22 twist vs 1 in 17.7 in the LW

Just had to say what a amazing little bully my veteran is. She is quite and more accurate than me. I am glad I did not start with her or she would probably be alone in the herd. What a joy to shoot.
That's all just had to give her the due props.

I tested some moderators today. There was some problem with viewing the link IN LINE. There is no problem with viewing it if you open it via YOUTUBE.

I need some help with a question. I have a Red Wolf .177 Standard power that shoots JSB 10.34 at 893fps(18.3FPE) on High power. It has the newer GCU2. I have access to a Daystate programmer and would like to know how much of a power increase I can expect to gain with re-programming and what settings you have used.

Have had several foxes, raccoons and at least 1 coyote showing up on my cameras on my property. Have had several chickens go missing over the span of a couple weeks since we had been letting them free range during the day. Camera went off early last night and showed a fox nosying about. Grabbed my new challenger pro 357 loaded with 68gr hybrid slugs and went outside on the back porch. Used the green light to look around and spotted it about 35 yards away, just inside the tree line. It was facing right at me but had its head down eating something. It kept looking up at me and then back down. I aimed at the top of the neck/shoulders and took the shot. Dropped it on the spot and not a twitch. Hit it in the spine at the base of the neck/shoulders and passed into the vitals turning them into jello and destroying the rib cage. No pass through. Those hybrid slugs are devastating

Daystate Air Wolf MCT, stock board, low power, mag fed unsorted from the tin Air Arms 18gn. 10 shots @ 30 yards. prone position, front and rear support. group beside it was first 10 shots after cleaning the barrel and I'd wager the fliers in that group were from the bent skirts I noticed but shot anyway

Today I am selling a used Western Airguns .357 Rattler. This rifle was just purchased a couple months ago and is in fine condition...it has less than half a can of pellets through it. It comes with the User Manual and of course the original soft case. The regulator is currently set at 135 Bar. This rifle was purchased to shoot squirrels out of the fruit trees but it's just way too powerful for this purpose!

Could someone explain the difference between the two models that are offered? I see the regular pellet gauge, but then there is the pellet gauger as well? I am assuming that the one will do multiple pellets at once instead of a single pellet?

Looking for something to try and get the utmost accuracy out of the Redwolf in .22

So any help or hints would be great.

Made 2 Impulse buys in the last year or more. (Thank god my wife loves Airguns, hahaha) I got the M3, and just converted most of it to a Hybrid/Slug gun. Going about 930 I think, with .30 cal hybrids. Anywayyyy just got the Arrow set up for my Crown Mk2... Gonna be an interesting fall!


Now to justify things to my wife, what have you guys impulse-bought with airguns??!?

So I shot a Grey squirrel yesterday and my puppy ate all the guts. I think he's probably fine but are there any diseases that I should be worried about? Thanks.

So I got my buddy into airguns, hes an older guy (56) , he is shooting an akela. I have expressed time and time again I want to coyote pest as I have the opportunity for two coyote permissions (recently acquired an uragan 30 for this job). I also explained id like to take a deer with an air rifle.

99% of hunting here in NE is in the bush and is under 100 yards on these particular animals. Coyote sometimes longer range on the farms they wreak havoc on but Ive talked to more than enough farmers who have taken them the majority of the time under even 80 yards.

He continuously shakes his head and just says "powder guns are used to hunt these animals and make 3000 fpe and shoot way faster obviously for a reason. No air rifle is going to make that energy."


I tried explaining how they are finding that this isn't necessary with air , especially as of late as it becomes more popular and he just isn't having it.

He is a smart guy, I guess the only way for me to prove this is to take an animal ethically and cleanly while recording.

It beats me. My one month sashay into air rifles has been confusing. Flags hanging straight down and you're chewing out little holes and a pellet heads for the north forty for no reason that I can tell. A mind of their own. Confusing.

And rests. I put a 3" adapter on the gun, to use with a Farley rest, it did fine. Shot it off the bottle using a cheap rear bag for a front rest, it did fine. Shot if off a bipod, and I loathe bipods, it did fine.

Mostly the groups are good, mostly. But changing from groups to single shots on targets causes some weird stuff. Not easy for me, I must hold the rifle differently every time, and pay the price.

It's fun, but bewildering. I thought I knew a lot about rifles, but I see that I don't.

No matter what shows up, I'm shooting it...

I am changing my FT stock designs for both of these guns and need some feedback from those who shoot them most. I see and have used several different configurations for the knee rests and want to offer the stocks with the option/s that are used the most today. Does it need to be adjustable in place knee rest (post and platform) or do I offer it with just an Anschutz style rail, and you add your specific specialized set up?
