FX  FX IMPACT M4 SNIPER PELLETS & SLUGS .25 cal

Hi, I'm new to this forum. and live in Ireland .

I recently upgraded and purchased an FX Impact M4 Sniper. With my previous air rifle, I simply bought pellets and shot them. I'm finding it a bit of a minefield with pellets and slugs for the M4. This time, it seems a bit more technical. I'm hoping to find some useful information on this forum from like-minded people.

I have a few questions regarding my M4 Sniper. First, I'd like to shoot birds from 50 to 150 yards and rabbits from 100 to 200 yards with my .25-cal M4.

To get started I have purchased JSB Match Diablol Exact King Heavy 33,95gr. and H&N 34g HP ll slugs. (not even sure if these are the right ones for me but i was mad keen to just get out in the filed and try.)

my questions please are:
  1. everyone seems to have preferred ranges in their FPS which I understand. However, with my JSB for example is there a range of FPS I should be aiming for first before I fine turn to a FPS that suits my barrel. is there a bench mark FPS for each pellet and slug out there from the manufactures?
  2. once I have fine-tuned my pellets and Slugs separately can I easily shoot these on the same hunt without any major adjustments by adjusting my wheels?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to RTI Arms, where precision meets passion in the world of PCP airguns. Founded in 2016 with the launch of our groundbreaking Priest model, we've been revolutionizing airgun sports ever since.

Our flagship Prophet series took the shooting community by storm in 2019, clinching victory at the 50-yard Extreme Benchrest (EBR) and setting an unprecedented high score at 75 yards. The latest addition to this line, the P-3, continues this legacy of excellence.

This year, we introduced the Mora, a testament to our relentless pursuit of innovation. The Mora has already made waves, securing second place in the big bore competition at EBR by hitting a 500-yard target twice consecutively, getting third place at big bore and achieving third place at the Steel Scramble.

Tango Sierra Notos Moderator

I may be an old Noob in air guns but if you don't have a Tango Sierra moderator on your OEM shroud Notos you are indeed a Luddite!

I have external No Mod Moderator and an early Subscriber design my buddy 3d printed for me from open source models and a Termidore Deciball, these work, but make my Notos look like a piece of canine anatomy:) The Tango Sierra is not only quieter but it is the same OD as the the OEM Notos shroud. I was shocked.

So yes, I have 5 moderator systems for my single OEM Notos: Deciball, Subscriber, No Mod, OEM Baffles and a Tango Sierra. Save yourself from yourselves and just buy the Tango Sierra.

Stoeger  New to pcp, need help airing it up

Hey team, quick question. I got a stoger xm1 and am using a small 68cu 4500 psi tank with the air ventur coil. My issue is when I put the valve in and slowly turn on the tank, it's full, the guage does not move at all. I have tested and air is definitely going through the cpil.and pit the valve just not seeming to get in the gun or the guage is broken. It's brand new by the way. I shot it a few times last night as it had some air in it and the guage did go down

FX  First time tuning M4 what are your thoughts and advice (with pics)

Hey guys

So first time tuning my new M4. I was shooting at 54 meters and have a little wind maybe 2-5 randomly…. I did not change my aim point for each target just wanted to see where the pellets were hitting and how consistent they are… the targets white section is 1.5” wide for reference

Gun:
M4 700mm
.30
JSB .30 Diabolo 44.75gr
900fps
Reg set at 97bar
Adjuster set at 4.5
Valve screw at line 4

You can see the groups and the fps I’m also new to shooting so some of it could be me

Check your speed before you shoot

I was able to go out to the starling farm today and did some shooting with my M60B. I haven't been shooting my M60B for a while now and I was missing a lot of my shots especially out passed 50 yards. It was a bit windy and cold so I thought I missed because I got the windage wrong.

After missing a few shots, I decided to put up my target box at 32 yards and check my POI and windage. Yup, the windage was off to the left and the POI was much lower than before. I got out the FX Chrony and found out my current speed of the NSA 17.5gr was 888 FPS compared to the reading of 920 FPS back in May. 32 FPS dropped in velocity was a lot and hence it changed all my POA with my turrets tape.

I entered the new data into the Element Ballistic Calculator and got a new POA range data. I marked out the new POA at each distances on my turret tape and went back to shoot starlings. I was able to drop starlings with the proper windage allowance. Luckily I brought my radar and did some testings; Otherwise, I would have missed all of my shots today.

So check the speed of your projectile to make sure you make the POA adjustment accordingly.

Video to follow this Saturday.

Results  SVFTC .... October Field Target MATCH REPORT

What a great year it has been for the Sacramento Valley Field Target Club ! Tho we got rained out for our start up in March moving our first match to April we were able to have our Monthly matches as scheduled. This match is our traditional seasons end and with that we put on a pretty killer event !!

Being we're into fall the suns up a tad later and some of the crew converge a bit before 8am gathering up all the gear & moving it on out to range #9
More help arrives rather quickly so we get a very speedy set up done, practice target paper & Quads are all out before the 9 o'clock hour ... Nice job guys !

Today's match is 15 lanes with *2 targets per for a base of 60 points, with *3 targets set on the offhand/kneeling lane #11 making for a 62 point potential match.
We ended up setting out a 3/8" and a 1/2" to really test everyone as well having a real stinker side by side at 55 yards having 1 1/4" next to a 1 7/8". The difficult value on that smaller target an Expert level 49.5 Troyer ! Post match survey it had just 2 shooters hit / get it twice.
As is typical when we 3 target the offhand lane, we allow one target to be taken kneeling if the shooter is inclined.

Today we had also per-anounced that a Club Swap meet would happen as well keeping it for after the match & during lunch.

Having soda & water, granola bars & chips out all morning .... Main course for lunch was Costco Pin wheel sandwiches and a SPECIAL TREAT being ...... SQUIRREL ( being Grey & Douglas tree squirrel ) slow cooked in a crock pot pulled like pork to make Street tacos having steamed taco shells, cilantro, onions, lime slices and some other condiments .. WHOA some killer eats right there ! Thank you Sam R

Swap meet had several rifles, Scopes, rings, Air tanks and a Shoebox F10 among other misc items ... Stuff found new homes & some did not .. such is a swap meet.

In closing I personally WISH TO THANK all of our shooters who came to matches threw out the summer even if you made just 1 match or all of them, for without your participation the club would not continue to grow and prosper. THANK YOU ALL !!

The 2025 season for the SVFTC will continue to be held at the same location and same range #9 being held on the 4th Sunday of each month @ March till October. A formal date list will be posted later and any special activities etc included.

Until next season .. Stay well, practice that marksmanship and tell your shooting buddies what a good time we have inviting them to join us sometime.

FX Impact

Two for one tunes, I've been wanting to tune my M3 for JSB monsters 25.39 and had time today, so I raise the reg and set the adjustments to shoot them @920fps then backed the Macro from 16 to 4 and the 18.13s are shooting 890fps. both are getting good groups considering the wind is howling today 12-20 variable from around 4oclock position from my shooting table. Heres my groups @ 40y. Blues are 18s greens are 25s and yellows are a sighter. About 6shots in each group more or less
