Vector Veyron vs. Hugo?

Hi,
First post...been reading through and there's a pretty good knowledge base here on the scope I've been using, the vector Veyron 3-12x44 SFP. I've got a couple of these and am impressed with the optics and features for the price.

I'm looking at other vector scopes with a little more power...I like SPF scopes so I'm contemplating the Hugo 4-16 or 6-24, or possibly another Veyron but in 4-16.. that one would be FFP tho, I think.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience on the ones I'm looking at as well as what I have to be able to give opinions on optic quality between them.

Thanks,
DW

MUS II is a superb moderator.

Now I just need to figure out for what I can use it.

Huben  Huben GK1 tuning

Can anyone help me out with a basic starting point or tune for H&N 31Gr (.25cal). When I purchased the huben through airgun tactical it cam with 44gr heavies. They stated in the paperwork that the heavys required the screw to be all the way out at max to work properly. It runs flawless however i would like to experament with some lighter slugs and try and get my shot count up a bit. I have some H&N Grizzly 31GR on hand. I have a chrono but not with me and was wondering if i should just dial the screw in 1/2 a turn at a time until i loose functionality or what would be the best place to start without shooting for a specific chrono speed?

FX  Another M3 tuning question

I have a question about the tuning of my FX M3 22 caliber 700 mm sniper. I have gone through the tuning that was recommended by quite a few of the forum members and as of this date, I have it set to shoot a 27 grain slug at 1000 ft./s with the regulator set at 129 bar .After shooting today I decided to bump the regulator higher and after reaching 135 bar, I noticed the speed was not increasing. It leveled out at about 1004 to 1007. Am I correct in assuming that this higher reg pressure would be the proper place to leave it considering the hammer at 16 is maxed out and was maxed out at the 129 bar setting. From what I understand this should use less air and give a sharper push to the slug going down range . Am I correct in assuming this please let me know . thanks in advance.

RAW Rapid  RAW Microhunter.25

Hello , just curious, anyone ever push slugs through a RAW Microhunter.25? If so what slugs did you use, I tried FX hybrids .25, but they won’t fit in the breech… appreciate the advice… there is enough power and regulator and hammer adjustments, I just don’t know which slug to use. Don’t want anything to heavy. 26 to 34 grains maybe??? Thank you!

Pills for an Egg Thief

I went to collect some eggs this evening and there were several ladies in the hen house. I happened to look around the hen house and found this rat (chicken) snake coiled up in the corner. I’m wondering why they didn’t kill it, then I did. I didn’t realize the camera didn’t focus well until after the fact.
IMG_9986.jpeg

After shooting it, it was apparent that it ate an egg. So far by my count, I’m short one egg. it’s tough to aim in there so close, but keeping some wood behind the shot was the goal. As you can see the 2x4 took the pass through.

As you can see below, egg yoke came oozing out of its body.

Shooting must have!!

This has been one of the best purchases for shooting lately, especially during hot sunny days on the farm or at the local range where there are zero trees to provide shade. Umbrella stand for bench and one for receiver hitch. I use both when out on the farm range, 9’ umbrella on truck and 6’ connected to bench, at least 10° cooler and no sun trying to burn me alive. Local range is like shooting in the desert. Makes shooting tolerable on 80° plus days. Both umbrellas and both holders from Amazon.

Sheridan  C series in brass finish

Someone removed all the black finish? Didn't Sheridan make some in brass finish? Serial number on left side of tube is 321848. Does that give up a manufacture date? I'm thinking it would look handsome with a bright polish. What to use? A little wipe with never dull didn't do much. I think shiny brass would look cool next to my silver streak. Thoughts?

PCP Rifle  WTS Benjamin akela 177 $500

Hello everyone, I’m interested in selling or trading my Benjamin akela. I’m new to the classifieds section so bear with me here. I just refinished the stock (maybe not the best but better than the factor) this is a 177, the hammer spring has been modified as many on the forum have done. The gun likes the barracudas in 4.50mm. the gun will not come with the scope, it will come with 1 magazine, and a barrel band made by buck-rail(havnt done testing to see if it improves or worsean accuracy) it’s been a solid gun for me I just don’t use it and want to get another 22 cal. In terms of a price id like to be around the $500 range, for trade I’d be willing to hear anything in 22 caliber that’s at or around the same value. Depending on trade I may be willing to add cash on top. Will either ship ups or usps depending on work schedule. Shipping will be CONUS, paypal is preferred, however if you’re by some coincidence local then cash would be fine.
will Gladly share more images upon request (not near the gun currently and only have the 2)

BSA  BSA Students, I could use your help on this one... BSA, Hunter side lever, rifle???

I had one of my YouTube channel subscribers email me asking if I could provide any info on his rifle. I did several internet searches using all sorts of applicable terms like, BSA Hunter Air Rifle, BSA side lever, spring air rifle, etc..., but I came up blank. After more than 50 years of being a springer enthusiast, I'm completely stumped. I've never encountered this one before, nor can I find any reference to it online. I'll bet there's some knowledgeable folks here who can shed some light on this. I've attached the photos that he sent.

I ask because I have weighted late model Hw95K 22 barrel from a HW95 field pro I bought a couple years ago. Depending on the gun the barrel makes about 1-1.5 fpe less than it should for reasons unknown to me. That's on any gun I put it on, so there's definitely something up with this barrel. The barrel is still very accurate on any rifle I put it on. It doesn't seem to hurt the rifles shot cycle at all. It just annoys me that its not making full power. I don't need it for pesting should I just get over it and use it? What would you do with it?

Window Weight Pellet Trap / Backstop

A few years back, I came across some flat cast iron window sash weights at an auction, and for some reason my mind immediately went to "pellet trap." These weights are marked with a "12" as in pounds, so there's 72 pounds of cast iron in total. There were pulleys at the top of each weight attached with with a steel frame which I discarded. The edges of these weights are tapered, so when I alternate them, there is virtually no gap in between.

The initial design has worked well, with the trap evolving over time. Initially, it was just the wood base with a single black iron pipe frame attached that I would place on a couple of sawhorses. It now has its own dedicated folding steel sawhorses with custom fit wood tops and a catch tray spanning the pair. I recently added some drain holes to the tray so it doesn't fill with rain water if I leave it out. Most of the pellets get caught in the wedge formed where the weights meet at the rear, forming large clumps that make for easy collection and recycling.

My latest additions have been a second set of iron pipe frames to hold the cardboard target boxes in place. Before this, I had an aluminum profile frame at the front to hold single flat pieces of cardboard, but it only took a few errant shots to bend the profile and make it difficult to use. A few days ago, I added some more iron to hang a string and a plumb bob from to check the reticle on my scopes for proper positioning, and I'm sure this won't be the last modification I make as this trap evolves.

Dnt thermals

I recently purchased some DNT scopes; zulus 3-12 v1 lrf and zulus 5-20 v2 non lrf. They share similar 60 htz refresh rates but seem to process the picture differently. I prefer the v1 over v2.

Going forward to the thermal scopes, it looks like the 225 and 335 lrf models incorporate aspects of v1 and v2. I'm considering the 335 for mice/rats but it looks like the v2 product that I'm skeptical of. Anyone pleased with the 225 for such small targets? Perhaps the 325 Hydra and forego lrf.....

Congratulations to Mr. Giovanni Atzeni to winning Benchrest World Championship 2025 in Finland.

We would like to congratulate the new World champion in the Unlimited Airrifle Benchrest 50m in Finland 2025 Mr. Giovanni Atzeni.
Mr. Atzeni is not only the new World champion in Unlimited Benchrest, but also make new World Record 730 point and 28 X

Atzeni_Giovanni_WRABF Finland 2025.jpg

In addition to his own success, he led the Italian team to first place in the Unlimited Airgun Benchrest team competition, thanks to his personal result and also sharing his perfectly tuned shooting system (airgun and slug) with his two team shooters, who took 4th and 5th place with 730 and 727 points, respectively, a difference of only X in the first case.
We are very proud that Mr. Atzeni and his team have placed their trust in our Altaros ATP King 40gr and we are glad that we could be part of his success.

The Italian team took first place with a commanding lead of almost 50 points against the second team from South Africa.
Congratulations also to the South African shooters for their second place, with the first two shooters in particular delivering an amazing shooting performance.
And of course, congratulations to the Lebanon team for their third place, who had very consistent results, and we are also pleased that Lebanon team also used our ATP King slugs.

1755847986389.png

We would also like to congratulate all the top 10 competitors, as the results were very close and high, considering that the shooting range was windy and we are pleased that 50% of the top 10 shooters chose our ATP King 40gr slugs.
From the information we receive from shooters, other shooters outside the top 10 often used our slugs. We would also thank these shooters for placing their trust in our slugs.

We regret that our company shooter Ondrej Plachy was unable to attend, but unfortunately, after 13 years, company have to move to more suitable and larger premises, and the moving date coincided with the championship in Finland.
Ondrej chose to stay at the company and coordinate the moving and preparatory work so that everything would go smoothly with minimal production downtime, ensuring that you, our customers, would have enough ammunition for this wonderful sport.
