Which would youchoose - Diana Bandit .177 or combo .22 vs Marauder .22vsUmarex Notos .22UPDATE: NOTOS FOR THE WIN! Which Red Dot?

Notos, not even close in my mind. I would setup some kind of rifle rest near where I intend to shoot from. That way you can set the rifle down safely and load or cock it etc with one hand.
Problem for me is as soon as I open door I got steps to go down. Mr Squirrel takes off running just by opening the door too fast! He a little bit “squirrely” if you will. 😉🤣

What about a window? A nice little table setup is popular with many members here. Otherwise you can still sit outside and wait for him. A squirrel will come around if you are outside on your porch reading a book or something.

1. You only can use one arm/hand to load, add air, and shoot at squirrels at a distance of 25-35 yards while standing at back door. Accurate and ease of use is priority (right arm not working yet)

2. The guns must be stock a PCP Pistol ( favorite/necessary grips are ok along with scope/red dot)

3. If you have another pcp pistol preference please advise which one and where to get in USA and why you believe it is better. Must not be over$499. Is it really 200-300 $ better?

I have two of these red dot reflex sights on big bore pcp's. Very good for the money. No issues with clarity or holding a zero

Good point on the fill probe being easier to use than a foster fitting. I have both and a bum right thumb. The fill probe is much easier to use.
Yeah, I can't imagine using a foster w one hand since often it's a struggle w two. It's the little details that can make something that should seem to be super easy really be not so much.

Loading a spring forwarding magazine might be a struggle for the OP too. Not sure about the Notos, but the Marauder mag is definately not the easiest to load.

I believe the Notos comes with the foster fitting. Now I’m concerned and will need to find Something else that makes the set up work. Any ideas??

You could just leave the whip attached to the gun once it's on if you're shooting from a fixed position.

There are guns that have springless rotary magazines too (Taipan for example) which would be much easier to load if that is an issue. You might have to shop around to find something that fits your shooting needs and price point

I almost always attach my foster fittings with one hand. They are designed to be used that way. Once again a solid rifle rest will allow you to enjoy a pcp instead of a frustrating battle every time you want to use it. If you have trouble with the magazine on any pcp you can drop in a Single Shot Tray and just single load it. Regardless anything bolt action is basically a non-starter, they can be tricky with both arms/hands. The Notos side lever is going to be best for you.

The other thought I had was clamp the Notos in a sturdy tripod with a nice ball mount. You could load, aim, cock, fill, etc all on the tripod. Or if you can make some kind of clamp and mount a ball head onto it you dont actually need a tripod.

Thanks for sharing! I’m going to be getting up from the chair and walking to door and firing from doorway. Will see if leaving connected works 😄
I have a7-shot magazine coming from Maple which probably is spring loaded. I will ask wife to assist if needed or go single shot 👍

Nice 👍👍. I am going to try using the foster fittings 🤞.
I am not sure if the Wifey would go for a table with ball mount set up in front of the 3’wx4’h window in her sunporch that I spending most of my time 🤣. But if necessary I am going to give it a shot! 🤔. She was in Total Disbelief yesterday when I dropped $600+ on a setup that I can operate myself to take out squirrels ! 🤣🤣🤣. I think I found the Famous Rabbit Hole!

picatinny to arca tripod adapter.

Picatinny trigger guard rail added to pistol. Have similar added to my notos.

Bag of rice used as a rest would work better than a tripod tho. The head can slam over the gun at the ball if its loosened for aiming. That pic is all metal but my notos mount is plastic and i dont trust it to not snap the custom plastic mount on the notos if it gets slammed over on the ball.

Also aiming and tightening tripod knobs might be impossible to do at same time. A fluid head tripod might be a better choice since theyre made to pan around vs just stay locked in one position, but fluid tripods are expensive.
