Problem for me is as soon as I open door I got steps to go down. Mr Squirrel takes off running just by opening the door too fast! He a little bit “squirrely” if you will.Notos, not even close in my mind. I would setup some kind of rifle rest near where I intend to shoot from. That way you can set the rifle down safely and load or cock it etc with one hand.
What about a window? A nice little table setup is popular with many members here. Otherwise you can still sit outside and wait for him. A squirrel will come around if you are outside on your porch reading a book or something.Problem for me is as soon as I open door I got steps to go down. 1. You only can use one arm/hand to load, add air, and shoot at squirrels at a distance of 25-35 yards while standing at back door. Accurate and ease of use is priority (right arm not working yet)
2. The guns must be stock a PCP Pistol ( favorite/necessary grips are ok along with scope/red dot)
3. If you have another pcp pistol preference please advise which one and where to get in USA and why you believe it is better. Must not be over$499. Is it really 200-300 $ better?
Yeah, I can't imagine using a foster w one hand since often it's a struggle w two. It's the little details that can make something that should seem to be super easy really be not so much.Good point on the fill probe being easier to use than a foster fitting. I have both and a bum right thumb. The fill probe is much easier to use.
For a held pistol.. weight. Scope is 12 ounces heavier than a holosun style dot.OP, what is making you want a red dot and not a scope? Just my curiosity since I’m in the rabbit hole market too.
That makes sense. I’m going to have to look into those.
I have two of these red dot reflex sights on big bore pcp's. Very good for the money. No issues with clarity or holding a zero
The only thing that makes me want the red dot is I’ve never had one. I have a scope that I will put on as soon as I get the pistol, but I’d like to try red dot to see what it is all about.OP, what is making you want a red dot and not a scope? I believe the Notos comes with the foster fitting. Now I’m concerned and will need to find Something else that makes the set up work. Any ideas??Yeah, I can't imagine using a foster w one hand since often it's a struggle w two. It's the little details that can make something that should seem to be super easy really be not so much.
Loading a spring forwarding magazine might be a struggle for the OP too. Not sure about the Notos, but the Marauder mag is definately not the easiest to load.
You could just leave the whip attached to the gun once it's on if you're shooting from a fixed position.I believe the Notos comes with the foster fitting. Now I’m concerned and will need to find Something else that makes the set up work. Any ideas??
I almost always attach my foster fittings with one hand. They are designed to be used that way. Once again a solid rifle rest will allow you to enjoy a pcp instead of a frustrating battle every time you want to use it. If you have trouble with the magazine on any pcp you can drop in a Single Shot Tray and just single load it. Regardless anything bolt action is basically a non-starter, they can be tricky with both arms/hands. The Notos side lever is going to be best for you.I believe the Notos comes with the foster fitting. Now I’m concerned and will need to find Something else that makes the set up work. Any ideas??
Thanks for sharing! I’m going to be getting up from the chair and walking to door and firing from doorway. Will see if leaving connected worksYou could just leave the whip attached to the gun once it's on if you're shooting from a fixed position.
There are guns that have springless rotary magazines too (Taipan for example) which would be much easier to load if that is an issue. You might have to shop around to find something that fits your shooting needs and price point

The other thought I had was clamp the Notos in a sturdy tripod with a nice ball mount. You could load, aim, cock, fill, etc all on the tripod. Or if you can make some kind of clamp and mount a ball head onto it you dont actually need a tripod.
To the users of leofoto ball head/tripod set ups
I’m venturing into a tripod set up and slowly schooling myself. I’m a little late in this game so I have one question. Dairyboy Dillon snd Brawler Matt have been kind enough to offer their own suggestions and experiences, so I’m sort of up to speed. One of the features that one make of ball head...www.airgunnation.com
Wow! That sure is a sweet setuppicatinny to arca tripod adapter.
