What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

I got in some preactice at 100yards with my Epoch.
the targets were shot one at a time..no group shooting
there is a number by the red sighter box to see what order i shot them.
Should have stopped at 3..got tired and sloppy for the last 2

Very nice Mike.

I counted about 125 scoring shots in total, and that Epic .30 is shooting great. What pellets & velocity? Wind speed/direction and predominant hold overs were you using?

Regardless, very good for 100Y. Wonder what the RAW would have shot here?

Hey Tommy
The RAW would have done well, but it's strength was in the 50
For the Epoch, i was using AEA 50g pellets 895-905 fps
Holding a little outside of the 10 rings high on the right

Thanks Mike!

My RAW HM1000X .22 HP is the same. I have shot the MRD 25.39 at 940 fps at 100Y many times. But between the wind and the 'random' fliers, I had spotty success, at best. On a very still wind day, it would do pretty well.

That velocity seems to be pretty good for the 50.1G pellets. Actually, holding just outside the 10 ring isn't too bad. You have the EBR target bulls sourrounded!

Very impressive Mike! Did you shoot these indoors or out?

Went to the range and got the .177 Rapid set up and zeroed in....then went over to the long range and shot the ghost out to 100 yards. Playing with weights and honestly..... more upset that I wasted the air and ammo. Nothing great to show from this outting.....
I feel your pain.I spent 4 hours at 100Y today and embarrassed to post any paper. Flashes of greatness quickly followed by random holes that looks like we could have done better with a 12 gauge.

That’s impressive!

Went out today to practice shooting some N50 targets with some local N50 club members.

I reread the rules from Thomas’ first post, and it didn’t exclude RF .22LRs. But, I think the intent was for Airguns primarily.

Anschutz .22 LR 64 MPR
Sightron S-TAC-4: 4 X 20 X 50mm
Rear Protektor bag
Randolph front mechanical rest
Ammo: Lapua 40g CenterX
Wind: 5-9 mph, strong R-L Headwind

Shot three N50 cards. Surprisingly for me, I had a good wind reading day as well as scoring. This gun is very accurate ( I won the “bull barrel” lottery from ANA)

Only wish I could shoot an air gun for score like my Annie’s, but I seldom can.

Since i lost my 50 yard rifle, I decided to get another rifle to substitute for my RAW. I purchased another Skout and set it up with Skout's new 28" LW barrel. I had Skout anodize it in a olive green color that worked out very pleasing to my eye. Got some scope rings and mounted my Delta Stryker 5-50x56 ..just a bit overkill for 50 ;) . Just a small problem maintaining a constant FPS, but it shouldn't be difficult to steady out. I was using AEA 21.9g pellets from the tin at my indoor range. Very pleased with the results..even if my FPS was going through a 40 fps spread:rolleyes:

Those AEA Center Punch 21.9g pellets shoot really well in my recent fairly new Taipan Vet2 .22 Long with the 700mm Barrel also. I use the rifle for mostly 30-40Y paper target challenges, but have scored some low to mid 240’s with it outdoors. Wind has to be light for me to have a chance at my open range. Tim is probably howling because he and the rest of his N50 guys / gals shoot in hurricanes compared to my wind days. 😃

Mike, this new Scout looks like a shooter! Is that a tuner on the barrel shroud to add weight to the barrel? Also, is that 28” a sub MOA barrel? I’m guessing your barrel can also shoot slugs, but not familiar with the Epochs. If so, those N50 cards are going to get even better.

I just placed an order with AoA for my first Brocock air rifle. .22 Caliber XR Sniper Magnum with the long barrel. Will be trying to use it and the Vet2 to shoot some N50 matches against two high end .22
LR Rimfires (N50 friends) at my local outdoor club. My N50 club friends have nice .22 LRs and great equipment, so my chances against out scoring them with the above two air guns, will need a lot of luck on my part.

Those are two really good N50 cards for your first attempt.

Hi Tommy,
Yes, those are some weights that i added as a tunner ..still need to adjust the placement. It is a lot of trial and error, but it is almost there
The Barrel is a Lothar Walther
Looking forward to hear your experience with the Brocock...they're an excellent rifle
Mike

Thanks Mike.

Might be a month or so. AoA is back ordered on them.

Back at it today, but this time with the Taipan Vet2 .22 Long 700mm barrel.

Shot 3 N50 cards, and it was sadly windy again. I never tried the AEA 18.3g pellet, so I fired up the Garmin Chrony and was speed dialing to 975 FPS range. One of the Taipan owners had good luck with this pellet and velocity. May have been Tim.

Shot a “718” 3-card aggregate score for my Taipan, Sportsman Class. Candidly, I was pretty stoked on the accuracy of the 18.3g. I don’t show the 5-shot groups at 50Y, but they were pretty good. A couple were sub MOA, a couple were 3/4”, and 1 was .5”.

Going to try the AEA 25.39, and 21.9g pellets for future N50 practice. Also, the JTS 22.07g.

I think I can get to 245 range with this gun.

MIKE! Congratulations on your new Skout Epoch .22! Those are pretty tight shot dispersions with a new not yet tuned or broken in Skout with a 40fps spread! All that means is it's going to shoot even more accurately once dialed in! Woo Hoo! Enjoy shooting it!
