I'm not really experienced at these, but figured I'd throw one up

I used a prochrono about 5 inches from barrel, Beeman Crow Magnums (26.23gr)

I had 3 shots not on chrono. One it just missed somewhere in the 40-50 shot range, one dry fire mishap in the 50-60 range, and one chrono "dupe" in the off-regulator range at the end in the 80-95 shot range.

I went from 250 bar (exactly according to Veteran manometer) to pretty close to empty (60 bar) which I know isn't all that useful but I just kind of shot until it dropped off the cliff. I have my hammer spring tuned out to somewhere in the low 30-ish FPE range.

Seems like at this setting it's about 65ish good shots, then off regulator for another 30ish or so...

Very accurate, I think I'm the weak link in the chain. I may also adjust the trigger for a little less take up.

It actually seemed to shoot better with that pellet up in the 825-850fps range, so I think I may turn it up a bit. I will probably give it another go at 40fpe or thereabouts especially since I won't have to sit there and hand-load pellet after pellet.

What is the .25 VET reg set at from the factory?

That big bump tells me the reg is set way to high. Once you drop below the reg the increased valve dwell is allowing more volume and bumping velocity....100 fps is a huge jump. 

Anyone get into the Vet yet to check out the reg? I hear the new design is pretty easy to adjust. Might be worth a try.

Yeah, I noticed that. I was sitting there and all the sudden it jumps up to well over 800fps.. So if I drop the regulator a bit it should extend the on-regulator shot count and reduce that big jump, right?

I am going to drill in a swivel stud for a bipod sometime this week, maybe I'll tear it down and poke around a bit.

Edit: As for factory setting, not sure. Seems like I read 145 somewhere but maybe that was the mutant.

Sounds good. See post above on playing with reg and HST. 150 is pretty high..my Edgun .30 is probably around 135-140 now and shooting 44gr at 880. However, it does have a pretty large volume of regulated air. 

Let us know how it turns out.

I'm experiencing the same. I'm still new to pcp and haven't done any tuning. I figured the regulator was set at the manufacture to a set point for a reason so it'd be best I just leave it there. But more reading such as above is pushing me to open things up in time and dabble. I'm on the forums daily and soaking in a little at a time. When I'm more comfortable I'll disassemble things and tweak to my liking. I have zero problem taking my PB's apart but with high pressure air I best be cautious and take my time. I'm in no hurry as all I've got is a smaller backyard to fart around in. It's a damper.

I too am waiting and hoping Ernest or someone else knowledgeable with a Vet .25 will come along with a how-to or even videos on how to tweak parameters. I'm not ashamed to say I'm clueless. Rather be honest and safe and not screw my AG up and wait for instruction. Not like I can just take it apart and know exactly what I'm looking at but have to start somewhere. Perhaps I'm asking too much as Ernest and other tuners are taking away their own business if they show us how to DIY. The posts he and others do is greatly appreciated and I applaud them for what the do offer, both paid services and free.

On any rifle that curve shape means that you don't have enough hammer strike or you have the regulator set too high. Were I you I'd shoot for a MV of 780 with that rifle and that pellet. That's a smidge more than 35 fpe and you should get almost 100 shots before it drops off regulator and it should just drop really fast rather than climb and drop. You can accomplish this by reducing your regulator pressure a bit or increasing your hammer strike a bit.

OK, I turned up the power a bit to 40ish fpe, was actually more accurate here and it seems to like the 33.95 Diabolo heavies. I found there is a trick to use the magazine with the longer pellets, you have to use your fingernail and push the pellet skirt down past the second oring after it 'clicks' into place.

I did this one with a Combro and a new app I wrote since theirs is really bad and I wanted to refresh my Android development skills. I'll make a post about that when it's a bit more polished, I'll put it up for free.

String looks better but I think the regulator could still use being turned down a bit, no?
