N/A The elusive airgun that AVERAGES 100 yard sub moa groups.

Trying to get a pellet gun to shoot light slugs is an exercise in frustration.

Supposedly the heavy-for-weight slugs that are shaped more like rimfire bullets have better success rates, accuracy-wise. I'm talking Altaros and Altaros-like slugs. But then you're paying 3-4x as much per trigger pull as we pay for quality pellets. With those heavy-for-weight slugs you're also at rimfire and rimfire-plus energy levels, which for me negates the whole basis for enjoying airguns.

If you end up wanting to chase slugs, to minimize your headaches, I'd recommend, straight outa the gate, to prioritize for a fairly high-powered airgun. Something that'll launch a 36+ grain .22 Altaros-type slug at least in the mid 850s, or a 48+ grain .25 to at least the same speeds.

And be fully aware that you no longer have a gun that can be enjoyed safely in a back yard or without 600+ yards of nothing downrange, cuz then you're at rimfire and above power levels....

MOA at 100 yards from an airgun, even the best slug flinger out there, is not as common as most would have us believe.

Just stumbled apon this thread. I'll try to post my effort soon from my gun.
Most likelly I wont be MOA at 100yds because of the shooter and maybe not because of the gun. I'm still a newbie in precise shooting, but from my plinking experience I think my gun could have a fair shot.

I'm currently shooting 0.22 25.5gr ZAN slugs from my AGT Uragan2 at 1005fps and I'm really pleased with the results. I usually dont miss any piece of fruit at 110-120 meters. The groups at 70 meters are great, but never really done 5x5. So I'm not using that much of weight as you mention. I also have to add that I tryed a miriad of slugs and ONLY witht the Zan's I got the results, all other were in the shotgun experience.

Lets see if the repeatibility is there. I'm curious. If I dont get the results I'll post it anyway! :D

Similar experience here....finding accuracy in slug is the exception, not the rule. At least for under maybe about 60-70 fpe.

The Vulcan 3 700 mm did it better than the FX Leopard at 100 yards.

These groups were made with JSB Knockouts.

Do not be to critical. Remember that I am just a hunter, not an EBR shooter and that I do not shot from a bipod, but from a rest I made my own.

The groups I am sharing were picky but real.

I do not share the whole sheet because I learned how to compensate in the same sheet.

Well you are not judging my shooting but the capabilities of the rifle.

Hey Emu

Thanks for posting your two 5-shot groups. Nobody is being critical.

You have been on the forum a long time and when someone claims they can shoot 100Y MOA groups ‘all day long,’ that will get everyone’s attention. Why? Because it is so rare with pellets and even slugs, especially with wind outdoors.

We would still be interested in seeing a future post with at least five 5-shot groups from any of your rifles at 100Y, even on a light wind day.

Al ready made a 5X5 today weigh AVS 38 grain slugs.
At some shots there were sudden wind and took the slugs away:

What’s the diameter of a MOA?

An inch?

Nice rifle.

Not so easy shooting 1 inch at 100y, is it?

I see your groups, but since they are not measured for CTC, I can’t tell actual measured group size. Plus, you are using heavy 38g .22 slugs and not pellets. Big difference between light pellets and heavy slugs in wind.

Cole started the thread showing what light pellets ( 15.89 .20/caliber with a great BC) could ‘average’ at 100y. There is a vast difference between having 25-50 shots that have an “average” MOA of less than an inch at 100Y, and showing some cherry picked groups.

That is the real point here.

My Uragan .22 shoots very well the jsb’s 15,9 grains.

If weather collaborates, tomorrow I will give it a try.

…….

Something is not working with the Leopard. The groups are really bad….. Maybe the scope ….
