Prophet 2 Performance PROBLEM!

Take a look at the pictures. This is the valve I ordered with a Prophet 2 this January 2023.
I recommend if you insert the new valve, remove the sharp edges of the spring, before inserting. It can damage the o-ring inside.

That looks like the old style valve. The new one is all black with no spring guide.
This video shows the install of the new style valve:

Are they all functioning. I have a 6 and it seems to be functioning well. What are the regulator problems people are having. Creep?
My first reg would creep alright.. over a 24 hour period the pressure between the tank and rifle would equalize.. the 2nd reg started to creep badly in a couple of weeks
(I can deal with a small amount of creep) but the new reg kept getting worse. I got a rebuild kit for the 2nd reg. After a good cleaning I installed the kit but never used the reg. That rifle I don't swap barrels (22lr barrel) and only shoot the 25gr pellets so I use a fixed reg set at 145b... It's been flawless and shoots spot on.
The regs on my 2 compacts have a small amount of creep but nothing to get in a twist over..

My gun has sat for over a week with no shift in psi. I guess mine is good.

Well, just my luck. I got my valve issue taken care of and found out the wheezing sound can be normal for this gun. Just when I started to get comfortable with it, BAM, severe regulator creep. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. Get your crap together RTI. Gun was bought January 2023. I shouldn’t be having this many problems with it. Reminds me of my 2003 F250 6.0 diesel. Hardly ever ran, but when it did it was fun as hell to drive. What do I need to do to get this thing reliable? Aftermarket reg?

Well there was a video showing how to disassemble the RTI reg and polish up the belleville washer stack. That seemed to do the trick. I polished the washers on my Taipan Vet reg and my creep issue went away. Not hard to do. I rubbed them on some 800 gr sand paper then had some 800 lapping compound on a t-shirt and rubbed them on that. Getting to the washers is not bad and worth a shot. Can't expect RTI to go through thousands of washers giving them each special attention when they are a mass produced steel stamped item. One of my RTI regs has a super thick spring in it. Not much can be done with that one.

I believe that polishing the internals can resolve inconsistencies and refresh rates, but regulator creep tends to be a leaking issue. The design, in my opinion, is not optimal. RTI is sending me new internals. Their customer service is great, but shipping with them takes FOREVER. $1800 paper weights are not my thing.

The RTI reg is aggravating that's for sure. Might want to consider a fixed reg.. they work quite well.. price isn't bad either..
Either way it's a nice backup in a pinch.
If you find a aftermarket external adjustable reg (good one) reasonably priced.. please share...

Just in case.. (nothing like throwing more money at an already expensive rifle..yeah it aggravates me too) but this should fix it once and for all

The problem with that regulator is the you lose your bottle pressure gauge. On the. Prophet Performance and Prophet 2, the main pressure gauge is on the regulator with the second gauge. Not on the bottle as shown in the pictures on the Ebay listing.

Oh crap . I forgot!! the P2 doesn't have the tether port in the rear. The P1 has it... I removed mine and installed a gauge when I went the the fixed reg on one of my prophets. well darn it... I thought I had something for you. (Well it will still work but would need to use a tester to set it)

The description claims the gauge reads bottle pressure. This would mean you lose the reg gauge.
