Picatinny rail install on my Crown.

A little more work than my other rifles but a strong installation none the less. Also sanded the stock a little due to zero clearance at bottle.

Yes the bottle was against the stock, I now have it where piece of paper can be slid around for clearance. Stock also was against pressure gauges so i opened those holes slightly. Just light sanding corrected these clearance issues. Wanted this baby perfect before I start to shoot for accuracy and chrony work. I also made adjustment to HST set screw to concentric knob and slight reg adjustment to get my mkII's moving at 830 FPS. Will put gun through it paces in couple days.

I'm glad you "Crown pioneers" are working through all the essentials.

Monkyshine. Looks great! Mine is close to touching so was going to try a couple of stainless washers between the gun and stock and lift it up. Not sure why other then it just bugs me. Gun is the most accurate I've ever shot. How much did you turn the reg up to get 830 with the 33 grains? If we can get our Crowns to shoot the 33 grains around the 860 fps range and then turn them down with the adjustments as needed for the 25 grains, that wood be ideal. If the 25 Crown is going to make a showing at EBR this year it's going to be with the 33 grain. We all know the SLIGHT breezes that blow there. Sylvan

You guys are doing a great job installing your rails. Have not decided to install one on my Crown yet. In the past have shot better off the sandbags then off my bipods. Probably just me though. Let us now how your doing on the 100 yard range when you get to shooting. Adjusted the power up on mine just a little to where I'm getting 830 with the 33 grain on max. On the A setting with the 25 grain accuracy is outstanding. my 100 yard target actually measures 106 yards and 1 inch groups are becoming common if the wind is right. My reg spread is is still a little wider then I'd like to see, but it's only got about 300 rounds through it. Monkeyshine, do you and Puertorico live close together? Saw the picture with both Crowns in the shop. Sylvan

Did you have to adjust the regulator to get 830 fps with the 33.9 JSB's?

Kitplanenut I got mine now to average 830 fps and 138 on reg. Also have not shot more than couple 100 shots if that. I am seeing the chrony numbers still tightening up. 830 AV, 10 ES, and SD,3. I'm in NC and he lives in Puerto Rico. We fly to each other's homes to hunt. We mainly are pest control, I have multiple permissions out here to deal with, piegon, rats ,groundhogs, squirrel, coons, sparrows and our favorite (sturnus vulgaris ) starlings. His islands huge pest is the green iguanas. He also has some honey holes one of my favorites is a huge root plantation. Concerning my Crown I hope to start shooting for accuracy tomorrow, all shooting so far was concentration over chrony only.
