New World Record Longest Airgun Hit

Now I know that I am making the mistake of cleaning my .25 M24 barrel only after 100 shots. I did notice a slight POI and velocity difference immediately after cleaning the barrel. I can't say for sure how many shots it takes to get me back on track, but roughly 25 shots? 25 to 50 Altaros slug shots to "season" the barrel are not cheap. But may be necessary.

Why not 25 cheap slugs , to season the barrel ?
It's likely the metallurgy is different between the Altaros and other brand slugs. Then I would prefer the same lead type buildup in my barrel. Just my theory................ BTW, at todays range day, it took 50 slugs for a consistent POI and velocity shots. I will likely clean my barrel after 200+ shots.

Does the M24 have a choke? From what I understand the FX liners have a fairly tight choke even the superior heavy liners. I had planned to bring 3 barrels to the range Monday, starting with my worst barrel. That way I don't have to clean any of them at the range. Problem was I forgot to bring all the barrels, just the gun with the worst barrel. Of course because I did not intend to clean any barrels I didn't bring anything to clean that 1 barrel I had. Lol

Yes the barrel takes a little bit to get started but that day it only took about 15 slugs but I was also dialing my speed up as I did some work on the gun. I also tried a different lube (a spray) and that barrel had issues to begin with but it leaded up and shot horrible by the time it got to 130 slugs.

I shot each barrel for a few years without lubing the slugs for so long until I got the impression that accuracy had deteriorated. At longer distances (even only 200m is enough) it is sometimes uncertain (the wind or you can make a mistake), so when I suspected I made a check of 5-10 shots at 36m per paper and group. When there was even one flyer, so I knew that it was necessary to clean the barrel. Later, I expanded this with the borescope method, which confirmed this for me.
For maximum accuracy and consistency of muzzle velocity, it is necessary to have mastered cleaning management, which is more about statistics and observation than about technique.
The difference between a prepared rifle and an unprepared rifle can easily be + 1-1.5 MOA compared to a properly prepared rifle (barrel)

Since it doesn't work, at least I tested our slugs. Even between the individual lengths of our sugs (otherwise exactly the same shape and material design - like ATP Super King 59gr and 67gr). The barrel needs to be run on one type of ammunition and the worst thing that can be done is to give it 5-10 shots from another type.
Today, when testing a new slug, I always clean the barrel, and after the test, when I want to return to the original ammunition with the rifle, I clean it again.
In this way, I am sure that I have done the test correctly and therefore have representative results of the behavior of the new slugs, which is essential for me from a development point of view.

I understand that it is more demanding in terms of time and price, but that is practically anything today if you want to do it at the highest possible professional level.

if your rifle also has a standard muzzle velocity consistency SD, for example 3fps, (ES about 9fps), then you will hardly feel the change in speed after cleaning, if I do not deal with, for example, the first 5 shots.
However, if you have a SD standard of 1fps, and if sometimes even 0.6 fps happens, then you will immediately recognize the drop in speed during the cleaning shot and feel the inaccuracy of the rifle when you shoot like me on 300 o 400m and more.

Thanks again to everyone for their positive contributions.
Obviously not everyone is as wishy washy as you are.
I posted my record video in the FB group Precision Airgunning - Long Range Target And Hunting, which is administered by Steve Brew. The post was here a few days and half an hour ago and was deleted after I just replied to Steve Brew's request to send a free slug for testing. I wrote that after our bad experiences with sending free slugs to some YouTubers, we practically no longer send free slugs. After that my entire post with the video and the discussion were deleted.

As the founder and administrator this FB group, he has the right to do so, just as I have the right to publicly say that selective censorship works in this group.
Sounds very familiar. Same thing happened to me when I posted a video of Bill Lepage shooting at 500 yards with his Panthera.
Somehow after hitting a few rabbits, Steve thinks he is the allmighty and best shooter in the universe. And the day he got a chrony, he became a ballistic specialist. It's all so funny tho...

It's pathetic to censure out of pure jealousy en envy. But then again, that group consist mostly out of asian people asking prices all day long. Good luck with that.

So that no one thinks that ATP Super King 67gr .223 slugs are intended only for extreme distances such as 1 mile record shoting, or shooting at 1000 yards and so on, here is such a classic shooting at a normal airgun distance

I would also like to discuss a matter that I have previously posted here in this thread

Due to the recent experience of fraud regarding the world record for the longest airgun hit, I, as the current world record holder, would like to open up a discussion and agree on clear rules that any future attempts (including my own) should meet, so that the authenticity of the world record is not compromised possible to doubt and also to clearly prove fraudulent matters even for people who have no experience shooting at these extreme distances.

My proposal is this, and I would like to discuss the individual points of the rules here:

1)
Minimum difference between records 100 yards, target size 1 , or 2 MOA , always rounded up.
So there can be 2 records at the same time or only one if the 1 MOA record is at a greater distance than the last record with a 2 MOA target. The 2 MOA target size is borrowed from the website of the current firearms world record holder (distance 4.4 miles)

2)
Obligation of demonstrable video footage from which the distance and the indicated size of the target can be determined. Ideally measuring the target through the rifle scope + photo target with some usable scale or gauge).

3)
brand and type of rifle, possibly modifications, brand and type of ammunition, brand and type of rifle scope (reticle), muzzle velocity, ballistic coefficient of the bullet, temperature, atmospheric pressure or altitude.

4)
Show a video of a shooter with a rifle and ammunition in real time while setting a record.

5)
Verify the distance at least with a video with a laser rangefinder or a video in a fully provable way using a drone with GPS and a distance indicator. Both ways are ideal.

6)
Video recording of the target hit + photos of the target after the hit. A remote camera is ideal, but a camera placed near the target can also be used.

7)
An unedited recording of at least 5 previous shots before hitting the target, created in such a way that it was possible to verify the real flight time of the projectile and also to check that the previous projectiles flew for a similar length of time as the one that hit the target (it is physically impossible for the flight time of individual projectiles to be essential time difference)
Without a witness who independently and physically verifies the distance.

Without a witness at the shooter's position and a witness at the target.

No world record.

Your video is edited, your drone footage does not show takeoff point and does not show the drone flying over known distance way-points and of course is edited.

None of your world record was witnessed and can be validated.

my videos, unlike 95% of airgun shooting videos on youtube, are not edited, which everyone can see. I have witnesses, just watch the first videos:
I just know that witnesses won't convince any normal person as the recent frauds from your homeland have shown.
Physical reality is what convinces, and no one but only you disputes that here.
If you looked at my videos, you can clearly see where the drone started making the video and it can be seen that it is in the shooting lane only about 50m in front of the shooter's position (zoom out of the scope or camera), the rest is a clear reading of the distance + laser rangefinder.
So the only thing your post showed is that you can't recognize the real video.

1. Have a certified surveyor set a surveyors mark with Latitude and Longitude at both the shooting and the impact points and provide you with the certified paperwork indicating the actual real physical straight line distance between the two points.

2. Set up an actual 2 MOA paper or steel target at the impact point next to the surveyors mark. 37" x 37" target ( 2 MOA at a mile) is not that hard to make or move. Ensure you provide a picture of a tape measure showing the actual length and width of the target.

3. Place your spotter/witness near the target.

4. Put 3 shots on target in the same session.

You now have a verifiable record.

Otherwise you don't.

The rules for world records have already agreed here. Nothing that you write here is not used even for a record in Firearms on longest hit.
Let's go back to your previous information that I have edited videos and that the drone does not show a real distance, I want to see how you refute them and you know why, because you will not refute, because it is a reality.

But I would make one point out of your list. You can be my witness, very close to the target to feel the physical reality on your own skin. All you have to do is come here to the Czech Republic and sign the appropriate documents that it is on your own risk. Oh, you don't want to ride over half the planet, but it's the same point as you are trying to call you- nonsense.

“The rules for world records have already agreed here….”

Well, they were discussed here at least.

I had done a little more research and discovered that there are already a couple of organizations that recognize ELR world records:

Airguns could use the same shoot rules:

“ELR World Records
3/3 from cold bore
36 inch square plate
Must be video taped
Only one rifle can be used per shooter
Minimum of 4 hours in between attempts
Minimum of 10 witnesses
Must be open to the public”

Ondrej, the Newby is just trying to get to you. No need to reply to senseless posts. My Dad taught me not to argue with ignorance, they’ll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. 😂
