Received my new crown 25 in walnut today. Had a couple of hours to mess with it and thought I'd share what I've found. I'll leave the reviews up to Tom. He does a complete job. This gun arrived in good shape. No dings on the shipping box. Standard FX box. No hard case. Mag and fill. Great looking wood. Adjustments set at 3 and Max. Reg shows 130. Spent some time pulling patches to clean barrel. It cleaned up in half the time as my other FX guns. Set up the crony 18 inches in front of the muzzle. Mounted a Hawke 8x32x56 with FX mounts. After sighting in at 50 yards I started with JSB 33.95 standard pellets. 5 shots averaged 772 fps and groups were not what I was used to. Changed over to the 75 yard target and my groups were about 2 inches. Changed to JSB Mark II and my fps went up to 780 fps on a 5 shot group. Groups tightened up to about 1 1/2 inch. Then tried the JSB 25.39 grain. 5 shots averaged 908 fps and were grouping well within an inch. Turned the adjustment back to the A setting and this gave me average of 862 fps, and get this. 5 shot groups were just one ragged hole. Amazing. Refilled the gun and tried a couple of other targets at 75 yards and same thing. By then I had run well over 100 rounds through the gun, so thought I would revisit the 33.95 Mark II's again. With setting back to Max it was now shooting them an average of 800 fps and groups had tightened up to a solid 1 inch. I believe they will tighten up to the one ragged hole if I can get them up around 860 fps. By then it was to hot to continue, so I'll take this up tomorrow. Remember this is a brand new gun and the first 100 plus rounds. It seems to still be settling in as fps is climbing. BUT, the 25 grain making one gagged hole! I've never done that at 75 yards. This is looking to be really outstanding. Also, I have no idea what the twist rate on this one is. Can't find it listed anywhere. And with the shroud out it is quiet. Sylvan
