Need help with cleaning up Sheridan Silver Streak.

I stumbled into some .20 cal. pellets. I took this gun to show it to the Lady I purchased it from after I cleaned it up. It had belonged to her Father. She told me that she was doing some further cleaning of his home and stumbled into a full Can of Sheridan .20 Cal. Pellets. She gave them to me! Even more reason to get this treasure to the shop and get her back in Shooting order!

That's very cool! I'm glad to see that you connected with the guy's daughter. That has meaning. That can of pellets alone is worth quite a bit to the collectors.

I just acquired a Sheridan Silver Streak at an Estate Sale. I've owned several High power Rifles but never owned an airgun so this is where I start. This airgun has been sitting unfired since about 1986. The Barrel has a bit of "Rust pitting". It is not near as shiny as the photos of Silver Streaks that I have seen on this forum. My question is, what can I use to bring back the Shine without marring the surface? That's a start. I'm sure that there will be more questions to come.

I acquired a Siverstreak from facebook marketplace that I affectionately call The dumpster queen. Somebody tried to polish it with a Dremel Tool, so now I'm. Using 3000 wet sandpaper to polish out the damage.
I would use 3M polish followed by car wax, on that one you have.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have already completed polishing my Silver Streak with Brasso. It looks good, in my book. Photos of it are on the 2nd page of this thread.

Thank you for converting my photos for everyone to see. I also appreciate the confirmation on 1952. This is the first airgun that I have ever owned so I didn't know where to start. The deeper I researched the more excited I became. It's time to get her all cleaned up, put back together and SHOOT!

I just tried some of those JBS Exact Heavy 15.89's. I decided I wasn't going to achieve precision shooting with the H&N FTT, so I cleaned the barrel, and started over with the JSB's. When it started grouping I reset the zero, and shot #1, at 3:30, #2 dead center, #3 an inch high, because of an extra pump. #4 & #5, dead center, #6 1/8th off center at 12;00, shooting 28 yards.
This will require more research. I like research.
