My LCS SK19 Pest Bird Shooting

A short video shooting pest birds with my LCS SK19 in .22 caliber. I am shooting the H&N Baracuda Match 21.14 grain pellets at 880 fps. All shots are around 50 yards. It is funny even though the rifle fires in semi and full auto I have the urge to cock it like with my regular lever cocking air rifles. I decided on one of my last shots to do a full auto burst. I think I sent out four rounds which was cool. Bill

Starlings and European House Sparrows are invasive species. The starling will regularly kill native song birds and take over their nest. Seen any Eastern Bluebirds lately? No? Thank a starling. Seen any Purple Martins? No? Thank a starling.

Just because the op didn't explain why he's shooting them doesnt mean he doesnt have a good reason. In my youth I shot 10s of thousands of these birds. Why? To protect our families cherry orchard. Perhaps the op has a similiar situtation.

Look in the mirror before you pass judgement on another. I'll bet there is something you do that someone else doesn't care for.

Cheers

what are they 'pesting' hanging out on a power wire lol .. just randomly killin sht and using them for live target practice .. call it what it is .. thats what you paid several grand for a nice setup to do lol ..

How to Get Rid of Starlings: Efficient Starling Control ...
https://pestkill.org/birds/starlings/
Common problems Whether eating your garden in the summer or invading your town in the winter, starlings can be quite destructive and bothersome birds. As far as these speckled birds live in agricultural areas and cities they often build nests in gutters. These birds are considered pests due to all big problems they cause especially near urban roosts and around livestock facilities.

The problems most people may experience are the following: Damage to crops – starlings are well known for damaging crops by eating seeds, fruit and grains. Large quantities of waste – this usually result in repair costs and expensive clean-up. Disease risk – starlings can transfer disease from one livestock facility to another. Virus can be transmitted on vehicles, boots, or already infected livestock. Noise – the birds are extremely loud.

I wouldn't complain if I came across a telephone pole and wires like this one ... I'd just get to shooting.

When you don't know what your talking about you should just keep your mouth shut. These birds are coming to the silage pit to feed and the line they are sitting is parallel and above the cows feed trough. Some people can't help from being asses. This is the response I think your comment deserves.

What he (& others like him) are doing is called 'sanctimony'.

Airgun Bill,

A little more on topic,. I'm waiting on mine for months! I am curious what scope you are using, that reticle is new to me. Thanks!

The scope I am using is the Athlon Talos 4-14x44 FFP which was what I had on hand to place on the rifle. It is a fairly inexpensive scope but overall is a good value. The glass is not bad, the reticle is nice and it plays well with my Side-Shot and Go Pro. The problem with it would for me if I want to shoot over 100 yards with slugs which I have tried out in the rifle and they were accurate. In that case I would need more magnification. I am shopping right now and trying to decide if I want to spend more money on another higher priced scope. Bill
