Krale And UPS Import charge??

It's 6:30 EDT here in Connecticut, and my UPS Krale P35X package will be delivered tomorrow afternoon, Wed 05/14/2025. Here is my status:

UPS Emails:
- Customer Service said I was NOT liable for the import fee if I decline the package.
- They said my $859.67 USD import fee was valid and accurate on the $537 P35X purchased from Krale,
- They couldn't explain why it was almost 140% of the package cost (but I assume it included UPS fees too).
- They stopped answering my emails after about three replies. Evidently, I hit their individual customer email limit :).

Krale Emails:
- None. Email sent yesterday and still waiting.
- I asked them what they would do if I declined the UPS package, and they receive it back.
---

So, this is what I will do tomorrow unless UPS or Krale gets back to me:

1. Decline the UPS package, and it will go back to Krale. UPS said I'm not liable for $859.67 if I decline the package.
2. Wait to see what Krale does when they receive it.

Bottom line:
- Best case: Krale eventually refunds my $600 for P35X (includes shipping).
- Worst case: Krale gets the gun and my $600.

I'll update tomorrow with status.

@bernieorosz I hope it works out in your favor and serves as a wake up call for others who aren’t considering how the tariffs impact their funds until they make a purchase.

According to a post on "X" by Ryan Petersen, "Customs has issued clear guidance (back in 2021) that they won’t allow canceling a customs entry and refiling it to take advantage of a lower tariff rate. Sorry folks." He also posts the exact U.S. Customs and Boader Protection Bulletin referring to this (CSMS #49719889 - Cancellation request not allowed to take advantage of lower duty rates). If you really want it from Krale one option might be to return the item and pay the shipping and return fees and reorder it knowing the current Tariff fee for China items are still 30% over $800. The "de minimis" tariff rate on low-value parcels from China will come down to 54% from 120%. Effective May 14, the tariff rate on low-value imports from China will be slashed to 54% or $100 Flat fee. Hope this helps. All the info I've gathered is from various news sources and the situation is very fluid as we all know.

What I want first is to recoup as much as my $600 back from Krale as possible. I understand and accept restocking fees, etc..

The big thing for me, was that UPS said in email I was not liable for the $860 import fee if I declined the package from Krale. I guess they could be wrong, but that's all I have to work with right now.

Its not Americas’ fault that there are a lot of clowns in the rest of the world…
It is not the rest of the world's fault that Americans spend nearly 150 billion USD on illegal drugs annually.

To the rest of the world an American drug addict is a revenue stream and they know the US Government has never been able to stop Americans from being Americans.

The 18th and 21st Amendments are proof of that.

So one repealed the other? Americans are free to be “drug addicts” if they choose or fall victim to. That said, we do have drug addicts here, and so do many other countries… Drugs, booze, cider, etc. Have always been commodities…

Yes, you being the buyer, have to pay the customs duties upon receipt of goods. UPS kind of works as a broker to collect fees and pay the Government. And they normally charge a fee for this. So HOPEFULLY since there will be no 'receipt of goods' then no fee will be due to the Government and (hopefully) UPS won't charge you their normal brokerage fee.

That said, generally a buyer is responsible for the return shipping cost, businesses don't normally refund the original shipping costs, and most businesses will normally charge a re-stocking fee even if the item is still brand new (they do have their costs to have sold it to you in the first place).

So while all of these charges and fees will add up, they should at least be nowhere near the $600 originally spent on the gun, nor the (YOW) $1,440!

Fingers crossed for your best outcome on this!

Not one cent of the money raised from tariffs on Chinese goods is going to reduce the flow of fentanyl into American blood streams by even a gram. And yet the tariff exists for that reason as stated in the President's executive order.

God bless America's addicts! Where would the rest of us be without them?!?

Keep in mind they are 6hrs ahead, and close at 5:30pm, and if they don't have answers for you they will get to you when they can. They are more than reasonable and helpful.

Krale and Huma are some of the best retailers possessing some of the best customer service in the entire industry. this thread surprised me because of all suppliers I expected them to be very straightforward about this. They go beyond most ethical standards. As shown by @TMH they have given written notice.
It pays to keep up with fees which may be encountered when buying abroad. I’ve just ordered a mod and Reg from them. Products of Czechia. Nothing extra.
I appreciate this info. I'm new at this and I've had a hard time finding this exact thing.
I want a bunch of stuff for my Harpoon; it's like a $500 list of stuff!
And I can't even get an email or return phone call from Texoma. I've tried like three times!

Maybe AEA/Harpoon just doesn't have the dealer support needed? I'll check these places... Thanks.

edit... I did check out Krale & Huma and they look to me to deal with super high end stuffs. Nice places but outta my league. (I didn't even know there was such a THING as a $10k air rifle!)

China appears to be making major concessions such as cracking down on fentanyl, opening up their markets to certain USA goods, while USA moves towards self-reliance or better partners for critical and security sectors goods ie medicines and microchips.

If they don't make good on the fentanyl situation promise they already know how Trump will respond. So we don't have to worry about how bad of junkies Americans are once the supply is cut off.

India and UK have deals that are far better than before the tariffs started already. Canada's new PM came over and looked pretty desperate to make something happen for their sake. Pretty sure some big deals are being made in the Middle East as we speak. And some of you still can't comprehend what's going on. This is a complete global trade reset that will greatly benefit the USA.

Your stocks are only 2k under ATH. You Bitchcoin is nearly ATH again. Inflation falling, prices falling.

I would have just waited a few more weeks to order from Krale. 🤷‍♀️
Key word is "appears".

Just a 90 day hold on tariffs.

China's exports are up 8% year over year for end of April.

Actions speak louder than words, results scream.

So far on the results side - crickets.

If shipping wasn’t routinely a given minimum of $32 id buy everything from them. But for parts like top of the line regulators and high quality internals they’re the go to place. Altaros and Lane regulators are top notch as well.
