Thin walled wide mouthed , light Hollow points is the way for birds.

VK 22 XLHP, JSB .216 20.83 or .217 28.55 knockouts will explode, essentially even on birds. H&N hp 2 will rearrange them too.

I gotchu bud . This is at 45yds.

These other pics are from 20-70yds

Velocity of 1020 out the muzzle but it does the same thing with 890fps out the muzzle

Rooster , I have had great expansion from 25+gr. MKll Knockouts(.216) on pigeons & really tears starlings up. We aren't allowed to pop doves off in Pa. w/ anything other than shotguns, so can't comment on them. Oh ,I'm shooting the KO's at a little over 910fps out of my AirMaks Katran HP.

Now I just need to find a used RTI RPB barrel (600mm, so I can get them up to speed) — and I'll get cracking on the rats with wings.... 😆

At those speeds the 20.83gr move around 990fps, and they do this when they hit.

The top one, the middle is 25gr HN HP2
