Heavy Pellets for .22 Maverick

That would be the beast.

I'm currently shooting slugs from my Mavy and want to experiment with some heavy pellets in 22. Barrel is in 600mm. Any suggestions?
If you have a slug liner and shoot slugs already try the jsb monster redesigns or heavy hades, a pellet liner shoots them fine too. I refer to them as "bad bc slugs". My impact is set up for 23 and 34 gr slugs and it just so happens that the 23 tune really likes the 25 grain pellets too. They're fast, too fast but remained accurate at 960 fps. 700mm heavy liner.

I do have the above installed, as it is shooting 31 grain nsa's at around 950fps. I'm excited to try the monster redesigns...this is the pellet most are referring me to.

Just because I know the mav, and I know your projectile.... Its in my 34 tune with a different chart in the optic..... What's your power wheel at, and final reg pressure?

Final is at 150....power wheel at 4
If you're not running a really heavy hammer I think you should be able to use them on 1 without having to mess with the micro screw. My shooting buddy has a 500mm mav and we have just gone down this exact road. He's at 150 bar, me on a 700 mm impact, it liked 150 bar....... There's a trend.

I appreciate you 🙏🏽

I tried shooting 25.39 pellets out of my Impact. I have a slug liner in the gun and did not change it. Dialed the hammer back until they were shooting 920 fps. At 50 yards they shot great groups all day long. Past 80 yards they were less than impressive.
I was told that the spin rate on the slug liner was too much for them but that didn‘t make sense. If the faster spin was causing destabilization I would think it would show up at 50 yards as well. Maybe not as dramatic but they shot very good at 50. Finally gave up and went back to slugs and turned the Mavericks into a dedicated 22 cal pellet shooter. Much happier and I am not turning the dials.
The FX marketing is great about infinitely variable possibilities of the Maverick and Impact sound good but reality is find what shoots best and buy another gun if you want variety

I think the same tune (or nearly so) for pellet & slug is doable depending on your expectations. I tune for slugs looking for MOA at 100-150 yards because that’s harder to achieve. A few clicks on the macro wheel or just turning the valve in allows me to stack JSB MRD’s at 50 yards, so any pests within that range are in real trouble. It may not be the ultimate tune for the pellets but it will make a ragged hole at 50 yards. My thinking is that pellets are easier and short range is easier so that’s where I compromise.

By the way, has anyone gotten the JSB Jumbo Beasts to perform? If so, what was the recipe? I spent limited time with them and the 1:24 twist standard liner and they stunk.
